Well, this was it, the perfect vacation was over. We had PS at the Kona for 8:00am. When we got there we were the only one in the restaurant. Again, another perfect meal there. I finally tried the famous Tonga Toast. Now I know what all the talk is about. Its delicious! Then we went back to our room to finish packing up and we had bell services bring the luggage to the car. By 10:20 we were on our way. Of course, I went kicking and screaming!
:(

I dont know if we will ever have another vacation that will live up to this one, but I sure want to try.

Thank you so much to everyone who has answered my millions of questions before this trip. Many thanks too, to Beth from Dreams Unlimited. She did so much to make this the most magical vacation!

Any questions?

Thank you for posting your trip report! They were all wonderful to read and helpful with my planning!

We leave in 12 days. I hope we have as good of a time as your family!

Thanks again,

Thanks for posting. I enjoyed your reports. We have talked about driving at some time but I'm not a great passenger.LOL. My DH tells me to relax, sleep. But if I sleep who will watch the road!

Glad you like them!

Nanajo1, I had always said I would never drive to Florida. In fact a month or so ago there was a thread on these boards about that and I answered it with "I wouldnt drive unless it was under 10 hours". Well, things change. After the attacks, I was afraid to fly, but we were more afraid of getting stuck in the airport with cancelled or delayed flights, and missing some vacation time. With the 2 kids that could be a nightmare. After much discussion of what to do, we decided to drive. It really wasnt too bad. I think having DM with us really took some of the pressure of the kids off of us too. Once we arrived we werent even tired because we were so excited to be there. Of course, I was a lot more tired after we got home when all I had to look forward to was laundry & unpacking, but after a few days, I caught up with my sleep. Driving from MA wouldnt be my first choice, but I would do it again if it was the best option.

We lived in Southeast Fla when our kids were little. When we moved home to Mass we drove. We took three days with 4 kids under 8. I know I would want to do it faster going to WDW. But I'm afraid DH would gag and blindfold me LOL.

Wow! This is turning into a MA thread! We live NE of Boston and we thought about driving. My boys are all under 10... I was afraid they would annoy DH so much on the drive down we would never be able to take a vacation again!

We got a direct flight to Orlando on AA for around $125. The boys are anxious about flying. However, after hearing the drive down wasn't so bad, maybe I can plan a return trip sooner!

Your entire trip sounded wonderful! Thank you for taking the time to share it with us. I really enjoyed reading it!!

Sounds like your kids are well-behaved and flexible.

Was it worth it to stay at the Poly for one night?

Thanks for sharing your report. You write 'em like I like 'em. Highlights, and not overly detailed...

LOL, Abuwalker!!! Those are 2 words Ive never used to describe my kids. A year ago right now we were in WDW(we did the land/sea vacation). Cameron was 3 1/2 and he was very difficult. In fact, at one point I swore I would never take my kids anywhere again. That lasted long:rolleyes: . Anyway, this year, he was a totally different kid. He loved everything, wanted to do everything, and then wanted to do it again. I was shocked at how well he did. I think that was part of the reason I enjoyed this trip so much, because the kids were wonderful, and I was expecting the worst. Colton is generally an easy kid, but he is getting to the point of those temper tantrums. So other than an occasional freaking out incident, he was pretty good too.
As for the Poly, yes it was definitely worth it. I just love it there so much, plus it added a night to our original trip. I wouldnt want to make a habit of changing hotels all the time during vacation, but if its to go to the Poly, I would do it again.
Glad you thought it wasnt overly detailed. I tend to ramble when I get excited about stuff like this.

And I was more than glad to write this report. Its so fun to relive it over and over, and I hope to be able to help others the way I got so much help in planning this trip. Everyone always laughs at me and how much time I spend on these boards, but I cant tell you how much I learned here. It seemed like every 5 minutes on the trip I was saying "Oh, and something else I read on the boards...."

Great reports - what a wonderful trip you had. thanks for posting
