Good morning! Everybody Up! Time to be on our way to Epcot!!
We did better at getting up this morning, having used the wake up call service (got to agree with the comment, though, that would rather just hear Mickey without Stitch) We send Dude & Tink down to the food court with our refillable mugs to get coffee for Bear and Hot Chocolate for the rest of us. After showers & getting ready for the day, we all head down to the food court for breakfast. What an absolute zoo!

Everybody wants different things, requiring us all to jump in a different line. I let Princess decide what she wants and then just get something from that station to lessen the confusion. Manage to juggle trays and food and kids and dining cards and decide to sit outside. I stuck our cards back in my fanny pack and scoop everybody's food off the trays to give us more room at the table. I guess somehow I forgot to zip my pack back up, because when I plopped it down on the table it exploded, everywhere. There were bandaids, tylenol, park maps, wet wipes, breath mints, pennies & quarters, batteries, sunscreen, pens, you name it - rolling in every direction. It looked like Mary Poppins carpet bag had finally had enough and spewed back everything it had ever been forced to swallow. The kids and I scrambled to retrieve everything while Bear shoveled his food in, too embarassed to look up. I saw my new digital camera lying ever so still under the table and held my breath. I had purchased the camera on ebay without consulting Bear, and if it was broken now due to my carelessness, I would never hear the end of it.
I said a little prayer and picked it up. Thank you, God of Disney and all that's good! It still worked!
We finished our now cold breakfast and off to the bus stop for Epcot! As usual, I put Princess on my lap to free up another seat and most of the time the busses were crowded enough to warrant my older two and usually Bear, standing up to offer someone their seat. I was constantly surprised and disappointed, though, to see how many others did not extend the same courtesy. For instance, when a mom not only had her 3 yr old take up a seat to himself, but encouraged him to stretch out and take up both seats! She was across the aisle, with her purse taking up the seat beside her.

This was during one of the times when I was standing, with Princess' arms wrapped around my legs and me trying to steady us both. The problem: I'm short so the tips of my fingers barely wrapped around the horizontal grab bar. By the end of the ride, I felt like my arms had been pulled out of their sockets and we had lost our balance several times and bumped into others. Made me kind of grumpy.
Anyway, back to Epcot. We got off the bus, listening carefully for which stop we needed to be at come the end of the day. That was Tink's job, to keep track of our bus stops. Go through the whole bag search thing again, pass out everybody's card, insert card, scan fingers, and collect everybody's cards. It was just easier to have everybody's card in one place.
The kids had spent a few minutes that morning circling the attractions they
had to see and checking the ones they'd
like to see. The problem with this method is that we were new and had no idea what we were in for. On paper, an attraction might sound like a real yawner but turn out to be something really cool. And vice versa. So, while nobody had circled or checked Spaceship Earth and we had no clue that you actually go up inside the giant golfball, when we entered the gates that day, there were NO lines for it. And we had learned quickly that no lines = no cranky. So in we went.
Ok, sorry but I'm doing this at work, so these have got to be short today. I'll try to punch out another one later.
