It was fantastic!!!! You can find my full trip report here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=28322927#post28322927

A few thoughts below:

The good
I met 2 DISers!

The crowds were not bad at all, though I was pretty worried from what I'd read on the boards. We thought it was perfect except for Fri night crowds.

Tried churros and Dole whips for the first time.

All CMs were super nice and everything went so smoothly.

Had the BEST time at the princess dinner at Ariel's!

We all got APs and it was easy! We had 2 Costco APs. We'd already purchased the kids' hoppers but were able to apply the $100 in gift cards from the Costco APs to upgrade the kids'.

Had a great time at BB!

The bad
Napolini has horrible pizza.

I did not like the new Toy Story ride.

GCH is beautiful but did not live up to my expectations.

Had a kidney stone but bounced back the next day.

The ugly
There was a family in line ahead of us at Soarin' that had just been on GRR. Other than the water from the ride, it did not appear that they had had close contact with water or soap in quite some time. The smell was so bad we had to leave a fairly large space between us and them. :scared:

:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

It was such a fantastic trip the girls cried when we left!! I can't wait to go back. Luckily, I get to go again in November with my sis! My dh is not anxious to go back that soon, but I am silently planning trips with the girls. After all, we have APs and the twins have a birthday in March...

Welcome back!

Can you tell me which princesses were at the grotto meal? We are going 11/7, DD is a big Ariel fan!

Glad you had a great trip. I completely agree with you about Napolini's pizza. It's basically thick bread with bland sauce! YUCK! :confused3

My family was there on the 14th and the 22nd (yesterday). The crowds weren't too bad until DCA closed for the day. Then everyone crossed over into DL and it got pretty crowded (and I'm comparing it to any weekday night)

Ariel is always there, so your dd should be happy! She greets you when you first arrive and there is a photo op (of course!). She is in a dress rather than her mermaid outfit. My girls loved hugging Ariel and they were not rushed at all to move along.

The other princesses that came to our table were Cinderella, Snow White, Belle, and Aurora. In the past we've also seen Jasmine and Princess Minnie. There are always 5 princesses, I believe.

I think that's why it was so crowded on Friday the 17th, the night we arrived. CA closed early for the MToT party and everyone went over to DL.

I agree with you on the grand californian not living up to my expectations.

I guess because we've always stayed at the grand floridian at WDW..we expected the same just in different clothes.

However it wasn't.

To balance that negative point.. We *LoVe* Disneyland..and no longer go to WDW.

WDW is toooooOOOOooooOOOoooooo BiG!

Yet i wish Disneyland had a Grand Floridian type hotel.:goodvibes
