I was away from the TR for a few days and was so happy to see an update this morning! It makes Monday morning better.

I hear you about the yard work. Why is it that grass grows where you don't want it and won't grow where you do?

Great pictures of your resort. We saw the resort while riding the bus to DTD, but it is great to see pictures of the rest of it! Had I known those rocking chairs were there, I would have taken Jay over there and dropped him off while I shopped at DTD -- his feet had taken all they could and he wasn't feeling very well that day.

Also, I was looking at your ticker and you'll be back at WDW really soon! I'm so jealous!

guess what i just found out.......i'm going to be taking mark richt's deposition tomorrow!!!! if you don't know how mark richt is, he's the head football coach of the georgia bulldogs. and if you've been reading along, you know how i feel about the bulldogs.

i think i'm gonna wear my vandy shirt.

if my job didn't require me to be impartial, i would totally do it. but i'd like to keep my job. anyway, pretty exciting stuff. i wonder if i can find a vanderbilt pen or something to "incidentally" use during the deposition???

I'm prob. not going to get anything....I've seemed to have bought TONS of clothes lately

SSR is gorgeous!! What a perfect way to start your non-park day. Ahhh..... Someday we hope to own DVC as well. Someday always sounds so far away, doesn't it? Can't wait to hear what else you did and where you ate lunch. I'm definitely building a "break" day into our next trip!

the break day was fabulous, especially after the two full days we had before. and someday our DVC wishes will come true.......it's the disney way!

I always say that we better have a girl so I can go all Tink and dress her room and her in Tink!

oh, i'm gonna have peter pan whether it's a boy or a girl! i decided that a long time ago. i even painted my office green because if i ever get pregnant, that will become the baby's room and i'll move my office upstairs into the bonus room.

we have georgia red clay here and it drives ray crazy! we've had to put islands out where we can't get the grass to grow. it never fails - once you put the islands out and cover them with pine straw, the weeds start coming up. drives me nuts! but i love doing yard work - just not with fire ants mixed in. they LOVE me!

it was a really neat place to just relax. i wish we would've walked over to those rocking chairs one night, but we didn't think about it. hope you had fun shopping though!

i'm a very lucky girl this year. disney 3 times in one year? i don't think it'll ever happen again - even if we eventually buy DVC!

i think i remember from your TR that you're a golfer. one of the sections at SSR (i can't remember which one) is right on a golf course. as we were waiting for the boat to DTD one day we were watching some guys tee off. it was really pretty!

oh, and how about tiger yesterday??? my mom's a golfer and she called me screaming after he came back to tie the game.

It is!!! Well, I come from a family of die hard Georgia fans, some of them graduated from Ga, some didn't. All of my friends are fans of UGA too! But, I like to aggravate them all by singing Rocky Top around them or putting the ringtone on my cell!!

Yes, I am a golfer. Thanks for remembering! So cool! I wish I was there teeing off right now! I haven't played that course yet!

Tiger is winning by 2 strokes right now and they are half down with the playoff! Too close to call! Urghhh! I was screaming last night too! Tiger rocks!

no, you can stay there if you just book through disney, but it's WAY more expensive. i think it's somewhere around $300/night if you book through disney. if you rent points from a DVC owner it's more around $120-$150/night, depending on the season.

i love the details, too! i always discover something new there - even at places like MK where i've been lots of times!

thanks! yeah, ray is a sox fan. when we moved to atlanta he tried to follow the braves, but would just get frustrated. so he started following the sox a few years ago and he just loves them!

You really took some great pictures of SSR. I esp love the one looking toward DTD. How cool is it that there is a picture with names of the different bldgs. Most of us DISr's would know the bldgs of course, but it's fun to see. I just love how peaceful the resorts are in the mornings, and I really enjoyed the horse pictures from the kids area. How cute, Disney thinks of every detail. Love it!

We tried to get frozen cokes one night at POP, but the machines were covered with plastic, bummer. Of course that did not stop us from enjoying our Rum We just used our diet pepsi.

You got a great rate for SSR. I paid $80 a night for a studio at OKW in 2007, it was so nice to be in a great resort at that low price. One night was $160, but we didn't mind. Loved being able to park right outside our door too! Renting points is a great way to experience the best resorts.

thought i'd do a quick update since i've already got the pictures uploaded!

so after going back to the room, making some phone calls to check in with the real world and cleaning up, we headed out to downtown disney. we decided to take the boat instead of walking. i think walking would've been quicker, but the boat ride over was nice, too!

this is what we saw as we got off the boat at DTD west side. it's so pretty! it did make me want to go see it that night, as originally planned, though. maybe next time.

it was only about 12:20 when we got off the boat and our ADR at house of blues wasn't until 1:00, but we went ahead over to eat because we were both hungry. i was really looking forward to some fried artichoke hearts!

as we walked up to the door, a manager-looking woman came out and said, "wanna come in and try our very limited menu today?" when i asked her what she was talking about, she said they were having mechanical difficulties in the kitchen and that they only had like 4 things available, all of which we weren't interested in. i told her we would probably go somewhere else and she wrote down their number so we could call back later if we changed our mind to see if they were up and running.

i was very disappointed, but there was nothing we could do about it. we decided instead to head towards wolfgang puck express since we just loved it last year. i actually stopped at the express that's attached to wolfgang puck cafe at west side, but their menu wasn't as big as the one in marketplace so we decided to walk over there. here's some pics from our walk from west side to marketplace.

i took this one for my dad. i actually got him a t-shirt from here for father's day and he loved it! he's got a harley. (<----he'd kill me if he knew i associated his harley with this little moped guy!)

and we'll have to try this one day. how many trips will it take for me to fit all this in???

we finally made it ALL the way over to wolfgang puck express and we decided to split a rigatoni pasta with chicken alfredo, a BBQ chicken quesadilla and 2 side caesar salads.

i'm telling you, this is one of THE BEST CS restaurants in all of disney. i wouldn't even consider it CS since they actually have servers that bring your food and refill your drinks. it's awesome! all of it was SO GOOD. we didn't finish it and carried half of the pasta and quesadilla back to the resort with us for a late-night snack. YUM!!!

that's all for now. told you it'd be a short update. hey, at least it's something!

up next......lots of DTD shopping, disney art galore, the best rice krispie treat i've ever had and ray crosses over to the dark side.

so funny about the rum and diet coke......at least you made good use of it! i agree - we will probably rent points again if we go for another full-fledged vacation before we can buy into DVC!

oh, no. a football player got hurt a few years back and it's something about the school insurance not covering his medical expenses. i'm not fully aware of the details or even how involved he is. they just want to take his deposition (which is just a statement/question & answer session under oath) to see what he knows about it, i'm sure. nothing juicy!
