I think you are freaking awesome! That cell phone picture has got to go down in history. I'm a bit outspoken so would have probably done the same thing and then my poor DH would crawl into a hole and die. Wonderful pictures! Wonderful update Dawn!

my DH is so non-confrontational, which is probably why we get along so well! i'm not obnoxious (at least in my opinion anyway ) but i will let someone know if they're being rude. it's just my way.

Great Update! MY User CP almost made me miss it!!! The pic of all the landmarks over the set was really neat! We LOVE the animation studio, DH can't get enough of drawing characters! One of these days I'll see the stunt show (It won't eb on my next trip in August in the heat tho!).

well, if you guys go a good bit then i would definitely wait until cooler weather to see the car stunt show. tara (eventer) says it's awful in the summer. i love the animation studio, too!

The animation looks fun! I'll bet my drawing would be worse than Ray's...art always stressed me out! I think we might have to give it a shot though!

it really is fun! and it's easier than it looks - they take you through it step by step.

I've noticed that some people yell when they're on their cell phones........like look at me! I have a cell phone!!!

thanks for reading! you'll be there before you know it. then i'll be envious of you. i don't plan on going to WDW in 2009. we're thinking about starting a family and therefore "life" takes priority that year. but i guarantee you i'll be back in 2010!

well, don't get too excited yet. i'm self-employed and therefore have to pay for my own insurance. maternity coverage is EXPENSIVE! we've checked into putting me on DH's insurance, but the chunk that would come out of his paycheck is just too big for us to deal with right now. once i get my own judge, my pay will be more steady. i make decent money but it fluctuates so much and we need that steady money from DH every month. anyway, i'm waiting to get assigned to my own judge before we can put me on DH's insurance. i expect that to happen sometime within the next year. but we'll just have to wait and see!

last i left you, we had just enjoyed an indiana jones stunt show while taking pictures of rude people on their cell phones.......fun!

the show was over around 5:45. we decided to go ahead and head towards mama melrose for our 6:10 ADR.

we checked in at the host stand and they said we'd be sat shortly. so we found a seat and watched party after party come in, ask for a table and get turned away because the didn't have ADRs. don't they know??? i felt bad for them, though.

we then started noticing that people that had come in AFTER us were getting sat. now granted, we had gotten there early so i expect that some people would get put in front of us. but we started noticing that people were getting sat almost immediately after coming in and we had been waiting for about 30 minutes at that point. i told the hostess and she looked up our ADR in the computer and said that someone had accidentally erased us. we were seated within the next five minutes. i have written down that we sat down around 6:30, so we waited around 40 minutes.

neither one of us were really hungry, so we decided to just kind of split some stuff. we got a caesar salad and the wood-grilled shrimp pasta dish. i also got a pirate's punch because i wanted a light-up tink. the punch was okay - not worth $6! but the tink was really what i was paying for. ray attached it to the back of our bookbag and he'd always turn it on at night the rest of the trip.....we got so many comments on it! people always asked where we got it. i see the pirate's punch on every menu at WDW - i guess people just don't pay attention to it!

anyway, here's our food.

after i took these pictures, a man came up to our table and said, "i'm sorry to disturb your dinner, but ...." as he was saying this i'm thinking, oh, he's a DISer. he saw me taking pics of my food and he figured i was too! but then he continued......"i saw you come in and i just wanted to say hi. i posted a question on your TR on the disboards about taking book bags on rides." i was sooooooo glad he came over to say hi! we talked for a few minutes about how our trips were going and then he took off. he was so sweet and he kept apologizing for interrupting our dinner, but i was really happy to meet him. and now i feel really horrible because i can't remember his username!!! he only posted once and i just don't remember. i'm so sorry!!!!!! hi, anyway!

about our food, it was okay. the salad was good except a little fishy for our taste. they must use anchovies in their caesar dressing......not necessarily a bad thing. just not up our alley. the pasta was really good but really rich and heavy. honestly i don't think we were very hungry and that may have played into it a little bit.

our server showed up with this even though we had declined dessert.....so sweet!

it's tiramisu. it was really good too!

it had rained while we were eating dinner - the ONLY rain we rain into all week! good timing, huh! when we left it had cooled off A LOT, so we pulled out our hoodies for the evening. we decided to head towards the backlot tour. ray saw this guy on the way and wanted a picture with him......i have no idea why!

and of course i had to sing in the rain for awhile.

waiting in line for the backlot tour......we only waited about 5 minutes but ray looks like that's too long for him!

they couldn't do the first bit of the backlot tour because of the rain (even though i don't understand that because everyone in that scene gets wet anyway), so they just showed us the special effects of it and then we hopped on the tram. i didn't take many pictures on the backlot tour because i took a good bit last year, but ray did want me to take a pic of this thing because it was in star wars.

the last part of the tour was closed which was the part i wanted ray to see because they have darth vader's costume in there. oh, well.....maybe next time!

when we got off the backlot tour, ToT was calling our name, so we headed that way. i took these along the way......

i thought this was cool because we had just seen the show in atlanta.

we passed the chinese laundry and i couldn't resist.......notice the tongue and asian power sign!

we decided to check the wait to RnRC before we used our FPs to ToT. the wait was like 40 minutes and all the FPs were gone. so we made our way over to ToT and soon we were fastpassing it onto what has become my favorite ride at disney world!!!

someone needs to dust around here!

OH MY GOSH.......this was the BEST ToT EVER!!!!!!!! we dropped like 6 or 7 times - i lost count! and the last two times we dropped we went up and down again without stopping..... plus it was like 8:30 when we rode it so it was dark out and the view was just beautiful!

after ToT we headed back over to RnRC and hopped in that 40-minute line. i took this pic while we were waiting.

i also made a phone call to anna while we were waiting in line. for those of you who didn't read my pre-TR, anna is one of my best friends. she, her DH chris and their 3yo luke were going to be driving down to join us on friday for the pirate & princess party. she told me the hilarious story about how a couple of nights before she and chris had dressed up like pirates to surprise luke and tell him about the trip. watch what happens........it's so funny!



of course, anna and chris were disappointed in luke's reaction, but that's a 3-year-old for ya.....always unpredictable! but a few days later it sunk in and he got really excited. she has more video of him playing with his pirate toys later that week.

you may have heard chris say something about "dawn and gray." luke calls ray "gray"...he did it when he was younger and it just kinda stuck!

i know i promised details about a rude CM, but i'm just so tired i don't think i can write any more. it will be one of the first details in the next installment! up next time......the rude CM i referred to and awesome seats at fantasmic!!!

OMG his reaction is just too funny. I can relate to getting all hyped up about a surprise and our DD being like "yeah, whatever". I bet he love the party though! Can't wait to hear about it.

Excellent update, Dawn. Great Tower of Terror report!

The light up pirate's punch drinks were just put on my list of things to get the other day when I was looking at the Sci-Fi menu. We'll probably get at least one Hook and one Tink, because there surely can't be something Disney that we don't own at least one of! John chose to go back there as one of our meals, so I was browsing to see what I thought I might get this time. When I'm planning my menus, I know I'm getting close!

That would be me, such the lurker. I had read your pre-trip report because our vacations were during the same week. Then I was sitting there eating, thinking, "That looks like Dawn from the DIS!!!" I think it is! Let me be sure... Ray wearing Tennessee hat... Yep, that's her!" I don't like to bother people when they are eating, but couldn't resist saying hello.

The trip report is great! I've been reading along with each update and remembering what a great vacation we had. Amazing how we didn't actually run into each other more than once -- we were in lots of the same places at almost the same time!

I feel like a celebrity now that I've made your trip report!
