Our New Tent is Here!

PS thanks so much for posting about your tent, I had been looking for one just like that and had the Coleman Weathermaster in mind. I held off because the reviews were iffy, so many had problems with it, but the reviews of the Cougar Flats are really good. Do you think you'd be able to put 4 single air mattresses on one side of the tent? We'll be going to the Fort soon and trying to make a final decision about what we're staying in, thanks.

I just went out and measured with our air mattresses. They're 30'x80' and four would be a very, very tight squeeze with no room to walk around. We have the wider mattresses though. (Scott and I have gotten wider over the years;) ) If you have narrower ones it might work.

Good luck!

Jennifer

PS Sorry about the OT yakking!

Thanks for checking for me, I don't mind if there's no walking around space as long as they fit in there. Usually I'd have them stow their gear at the head of the bed so after a long day at the parks they could unzip the window, reach in and get their toiletries kits without crawling in and around the tent looking for their stuff. (it's pic # 10 if it doesn't go right to it) it doesn't look like the screen opens, just the solid tent material that covers the window on the inside. Is the door the only place that completely opens and you can pass things through it?

There's no access to the outside from the "back" room. The front room has a door on either side. This was one of the things I didn't like about the Cougar Flats tent but we decided we could live with it for the airyness (sp?) it had. I believe that the other tent we were looking at (Eureka Copper Canyon) did have front and back exterior access. There is a stuff hammock in the center and a small hanging shelf for storage in the back of the Cougar Flats.

Hope this helps!

Jennifer
