Our memorable yet forgetful trip

So Parla how do you enter 100 competitions a day? :faint:

I use a program called Sweep! to keep them in order that you can download from the redhotsweeps website. They are mostly daily sweeps that I'm entering every day and my roboform fills in the entry information. I look for new ones and one time entry ones a few times a week mostly with help from my friends at redhotsweeps.

Okay, now I've read it all!
You can't really put a price on those great Star Wars pictures a.k.a. precious memories of your children... If anything, you really should send ME some money for providing such a great idea....;)
Raining Fiagaros and Plutos! That's great! I mean the saying.. not great that it happened though.

Hooray, it’s Magic Kingdom day We try to get up early but this commute is a long one. Anakin insists that we should drive (we are planning on driving to AK the next day since we are going to DTD in the evening but hadn’t really discussed the other parks). So we figure out how to get to what we think is the MK but is really just the place where you can get on a boat or the monorail. Getting on a tram is just horrible, people are racing each other to try to get on first. Can you even drive straight to the MK? Would it have been quicker to take a bus from BWI or would that have just taken us to the transportation place too. Either way we don’t get there until opening time and miss out on being extra early yet again. We immediately run to Dumbo because Leia wants to ride it and we don’t want to stand in that long line later in the day. Anakin runs and grabs Peter Pan fastpasses and joins us. Then we ride the carousel (no wait ) and Snow White before heading to Peter Pan. We quickly decide what ride to get a fastpass for next and realize that Splash Mountain’s fastpass isn’t working for a few days so Anakin runs and grabs a fastpass for the Jungle Cruise. We ride Peter Pan and then head to Splash Mountain to see how long the line is.

Leia insisted I get a picture with the whole horse. She was not smiling in any of the other shots of this ride because she didn't feel that I had the whole horse in the shot. She really thinks she's a princess!

The sign says that the line is an hour long. Luke totally missed this ride last time because I was sick and we didn’t know that three people could fit across on the ride. The logs looked different this time and only looked like they could hold two. We don’t care that the line is that long we just want to ride so we grab a couple of bottles of water and get in line. It is HOT! We are sweating to death. I make a phone call in line to change a doctor appointment that I had for Thursday but the flight change has made it impossible to make it too. We get to the cooler part of the line and realize it’s nowhere near an hour. By the time we get on the ride it has been about 45 minutes. We love it. Since Luke didn’t get to ride it last time and it is one of my favorites we borrowed the Song of the South DVD from a friend and watched it before this trip. The kids loved it so much knowing who all the characters were. When we get off we decide we want to ride again so everyone jumps in line but me. I run and buy one of those water bottle fans and it makes this 45 minutes go by a little cooler. While we were in line the first time the paramedics were in line with us hauling a teenage girl out and I really didn’t want my family overheating. After the ride Luke see’s a tye dye t-shirt that he wants. The plan was to buy each of them a shirt but I didn’t want to carry it around all day and I thought we would be back that way before the day was through.

Now we need to get to the Jungle Cruise. Anakin doesn’t even want to waste time on it but I liked it on our Honeymoon and think we should ride it. We get to the line and the fast pass line is sticking way out of the shelter but it looks like there isn’t a stand by line, yet the sign says that the stand by line is 45 minutes. We’re confused but we get in the fast pass line and it takes about 15 minutes to get on the ride. It was cute but I don’t know if I would bother on a busy day again. Anakin immediately runs off for Buzz Lightyear fastpasses and the kids and I spot Dole Whips. They don’t care but I do. I get the float and each of them some ice cream. I even get Anakin a Coke float. I thought he would be happy but instead he was annoyed that he had to come back to us instead of us just following him. The Dole Whip was just OK for me. It was a little pitchy dawg. :rotfl2: I think I just prefer to drink tons of water when I’m that hot. I don’t like ice cream and sticky things when I feel like I’m melting. Plus all the things we ordered were overflowing and I got them all over me.

Now, we’re in Tomorrowland and waiting in line for the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor. This is where I do something stupid. I make my kid cry because I’m a lazy idiot who needs a better cellphone with a qwerty keypad. Steph knows what I’m talking about. Luke tells me this ridiculous joke about the weakest days of the week being the weekends and I don’t think it’s funny because all of the days are week days. Anakin tells his joke about barns being loud because the cows have horns. We all laugh. I try to text Luke’s joke and mess it up and it doesn’t go through. It wasn’t funny anyway. I text Anakin’s joke and we get in the theater. We never get picked for this stuff. I wish we were. I love it. I especially loved that the family they were picking on had a joke to be read at the end. Guess who else’s joke gets read? Well, it certainly wasn’t Luke’s, his never made it in. It was Anakin’s. So Luke starts crying. Then I stupidly say I didn’t get his texted in, then he is full out bawling. I say I’m sorry but I know that it wouldn’t have gotten picked and my thumb was hurting... that didn’t help. We finally let him wallow while we get in line for Buzz (Anakin runs to grab fastpasses to Space Mountain, notice how much running this man is doing in Crocs?).

Luke is not cheering up. Come on! We’re in Disney World! Snap out of it! It’s his turn to ride with mommy and he’s pouting so much that I have to drag him to a ship. I think I will let him beat me. Gosh darn that lucky shot! I got so many points in the first room that he never even caught up. Now he’s even more sad. We drag him around for the next hour until he snaps out of it. We ride the Tomorrowland Transit Authority and see the horrible site of Space Mountain with the lights on! Then Anakin was upset because he already got aced out of RNR and it looked as if Space Mountain was shut down. I see the Carousel of Progress and I want to ride it so bad. It was closed the last time we came. But we have an ADR with some friends from the Hundred Acre Wood and have to move it.

I’m starting to worry about rain since the previous day had been so awful and Leia is acting all tired and out of sorts. On our way to the restaurant we barely make it by the castle because there is a parade on it’s way. We stop on the little walkway just North of CP and have a great view of the parade on the walkway across from us. Leia is content to watch and where the characters are directly across from us there isn’t any room for people to sit and watch right next to them so they have no one to look at and look directly at as and wave as they pass. Every single chracter did that and Leia got a kick out of it.

Parades over and we head down to CP. I give our info and we’re inside within five minutes. It’s an early dinner and half the place is empty. I would have done lunch to get off cheaper but the whole reason we are here is because of their prime rib and demi glace. The demi glace is just so awesome here that we have to come back every trip. The spoon bread doesn’t taste good at all this time but I don’t care, I push it aside and eat more mashed potatoes and prime rib drenched in demi glace. It starts raining as we’re eating and at one point Tigger is at the table next to us. There’s a bolt of lightning and some loud thunder and the next thing we know Tigger is under the table next to us. It was tooooooo funny and we all laughed. When he came to our table it was awesome. On our last trip I almost cut his head off in the pic. The way they sit you in there the adults are usually up against a wall and there’s not much room to move around for a better shot. This time Tigger walks up, signs the books, puts his arms around my kids and then promptly bends his neck so his whole head is in my picture. I laughed and thanked him. The whole dinner Leia is acting more and more sick. I take her to the bathroom and she’s just not feeling good. It’s time for dessert and she is whining for dessert so I walk her up and she just starts bawling and crying that she doesn’t want anything to eat and please don’t make her eat anything. I carry her back to the table and announce that I’m taking her back to the hotel room and the boys can stay and ride whatever they want. Luke is concerned that we’re splitting up and Anakin is psyched that I’m the one going back. It has pretty muched stopped raining now and there’s just a little sprinkle. Leia and I head to the busses and go back to BWI. Thankfully there is a family on the bus that helps me get off because Leia slept on me all the way back and it’s very hard to carry a sleeping four year old, two bags and a stroller. We lay on the beds and watch the Disney Channel for a while. After a couple of hours she decides that she’s feeling better and wants to go ride the teacups. We get ready, call and let Anakin know what we’re doing and head back down to the busses.

As we are walking back in to the park it starts pouring rain. I mean POURING. We are already here and just to get back to the busses we are going to get wet. We are still under the train station so I stop and take out the ponchos and wrap one around the stroller and snap up the sides then put the other one on and just make my way to the teacups. We get there and it’s a little dryer under the awning surrounding them. I get Leia out and she’s dry. We go ahead and get in line even though they aren’t running. It’s at least 30 minutes before anything starts to happen and they finally start running again. We get on and notice Anakin and Luke have made it to the ride. Now Luke wants to ride so we all get in line again. We aren’t too wet this time but the stroller is now soaking. The place has pretty much emptied out.

Leia insists that we need to see Mickey’s Philharmagic so we go and watch the movie. It’s so cold in there. I’m glad I brought another towel with us to cuddle with. Then we ride IASW. We didn’t get to ride The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh earlier because Anakin used all our tickets for fastpasses on Space Mountain which I didn’t even want to ride. It all worked out in the end though since the boys rode it twice while we were gone. So we rode The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and then the fireworks started. I decided to run to Splash Mountain and grab the shirt Luke wanted since I knew we wouldn’t make it back to the Magic Kingdom this trip and as soon as the fireworks ended we headed out of the park to a long wait for a boat to take us back to the transportation place where we waited forever for a tram to take us to our car. We get back way later than we wanted too and it is just horrible finding something to eat on the Boardwalk. Leia throws up a little bit and we give her some water and everyone just passes out. How are we ever going to get up to make it to Animal Kingdom before they open in the morning and is Leia even going to be well enough to leave the hotel room?

Great update!!!
LOVE your dig on American Idol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!;)
Isn't it always so cold inside at Disney. I know it's supposed to feel good because it's so hot outside, but after a minute or so in that freezing air conditioning, I've got such goosebumps on my legs, I may as well not have shaved!
That's so cute about the horse and Leia. Gotta have the whole horse, mom!:goodvibes

Thanks Heather. Writing a TR is a little bit too much like homework don't you think? I finally had to make myself stay up to write an installment and DH was all confused as to why I was asking him how long it took us to get through the Splash Mountain line.

I'm glad my American Idol line didn't go to waste. I was laughing out loud as I was writing it but didn't know if anyone would appreciate it. ;)

We were there for the rain...yuck! I hope your little one starts feeling better soon!

It is tough. It's fun to write, but it is work. I'm loving writing mine though!

Oh, your AI line was great. I seriously laughed out loud when I read it!!!!

Hey, parla -- good reading...

Can you tell me more about the Monster Joke thing? Are you supposed to text in jokes before the show? Are there other alternatives for those of us who do not text?

OK, so I'm reading about the Dole Whips and going, "what does this have to do with dogs???" Are you trying to make a joke about a Whippet? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Yes, I'm totally serious...then I read Heather's comment on AI and have to go "Doh!"

OK, with that embarrassing bit of humor, I think I'll go take a nap -- obviously I'm not thinking straight... :lmao:

I'll have to remember to try the demi glaze at CP and the parade spot :goodvibes Hope DD felt better can't be ill at WDW!!!!

Thanks for continuing to read everyone.

Marshay, I'm sorry but if you don't text you can't send a joke to the Monsters. Just before the show the TV screens show you where to text the joke to. I'm assuming they change it and have so many to use so people won't just text in a bunch of jokes when they aren't even there. I don't even remember what the code was to text to.

They might still pick on you though. ;) It was just so cute that they were messing with this guy towards the end and then talking to his daughter and then in the middle of reading jokes from people they read hers and were able to show them since they asked the people's names and where they were from. I'm sure they can't do that every time since not everyone texts.

I hope that catching up on sleep as recharged your AI memory dawg!:rotfl2:

love the new update!!

the pictures are grrrrreat! like frosted flakes!! :lmao:

cant wait to hear more!

Very appropriate. Frosted Flakes are the only two little boxes of cereal we came home with from the multi-pack that I over paid for at the General Store. The kids finally ate them a few days ago.

Ok, why wasn't this TR pimped on the TFW Thread???:confused3 I just happened to peruse the TR board and found this. I haven't read a stitch yet, but I had to come and wave my finger at you, bad girl!!

I'll be back.... gotta go read it now! :surfweb:

Uh-oh. DLM, I'm not a focker watcher! I want to be but I don't have room for another bar.:rotfl2:

Ok, I'm all caught up! Whew!! :goodvibes Great trip report! I can't believe G-Luv blew you off! :snooty: (J/K, G-luv! ;) ) Your kiddos are adorable and I'm totally lovin' your Forgotten Items list! :thumbsup2:

You got me, I'm hooked!:teeth:

Great Update Parla!!!
