Hi Everyone!!!!!!

I am so exciting to be posting on these boards again. It has been a few years, and a lot has changed in my life (so far for the better :lovestruc), and I am eager and excited to be planning a trip to Disney again !!!!!

Also loves all things Disney. In fact, I just recently moved into a new house over the summer, and we did a Toy Story theme for his bedroom. It cost me a FORTUNE in paint because we bought the lime green "Alien Green" Disney paint from Home Depot. It looks great, I'll have to post pics some time.

Favorite Park: Was 2 1/2 the last time I brought him, but I would say Magic Kingdom
Favorite Rides: Loved Splash Mountain
Favorite Character: Buzz Lightyear

Here is a nice "Family" shot of us in September at Hawk Mountain in PA.

There you have it!!!!!! Stay tuned for our plans!!!!!!!:wizard:

Good evening everyone!!!!!

I promised to share our vacation plans, so here they are:

Dates: May 9th-15th
Where: Disney's Pop Century Resort
With: 6 day MYW passes with Park Hoppers/ QSDP

We have already booked and purchased our airline tickets :cool1:!!!!

Here is the Countdown Calendar we made yesterday. 100 days !!!

SANY0258.jpg

By the way, Paul and I were talking tonight about how cute the Countdown Calendar is, and how I don't want to ruin the Mickey heads by "X'ing" them out. So he came up with the idea to color in a small Mickey head in the right ear of each Mickey head instead!!!

A few weeks ago, right before we booked our trip, I decided it was time to do our first Disney Themed night. The theme was "Pop Century". It wasn't too elaborate, but it still had that "Disney feel" to it. And what do we do fellow Disers when we can't be at Disney? WE BRING DISNEY TO US!!!!!!!!!!!

Theme: Pop Century
Food: I tried to create one of the "Mom's Night Out" meals from Everything Pop food court. We had Shake N Bake BBq Chicken (its delicious, and a favorite of Austin and Paul.), Mashed Potatoes, and Corn.
Dessert: Tie-Dyed Cake (Paul and Austin do not like cheesecake so I had to improvise a little-it turned out great though!!!!).

Here are some pictures:

I did make a few shirts, and let everyone pick out their designs, but they came out awful. I have made better ones since then that I will post one of these days.

Wow- I am very tired!!!! I hope you enjoyed tonight's post. Sweet Disney Dreams to all:wizard:!!!!!

I love love love  the idea of doing theme nights before your vacation, to cute. I may have to do that for our next trip. It's almost like your starting your vacation already.:thumbsup2

Cake does look yummy:)

Oh, your Pop day looked really cute! Where did you get the Mickey plate? I'd love to have some of those. I know you are really busy, but I would love to get a pm or email from you so we can talk. :goodvibes

Hi! I'm another May DISer, who came over to read about the May plans of others.

Your POP night looks fun! I've never stayed there, but it looks like a fun resort.

I put double-sided magnetic tape on my Mickey heads, so we just take them off the fridge as we count down the days. (Recycle, Reuse! ;) )

Can't wait to hear more! :)

Thanks :lovestruc!!!!! The theme nights are really fun-they have really cute ideas on these boards to theme your night to practically anything Disney. It really gives you something to look forward to. We plan on doing a few more before our trip so stay tuned!!!!

The cake was very good, and surprisingly easy.

Thanks Ann! The Mickey plates are actually a set of four (a blue, red, green, and orange one, and I think they are Melamine)- I picked them up at the Disney Store over the summer. I will definitely pm you!!!!!

Thanks! I have stayed at Pop once before. It is really bright and has that "Disney feel". I love the idea of using the magnetic tape for the Mickey heads- I wish I would have thought of that!!!

yay another May traveller :) Unfortunately you arrive when we leave :( Oh well, I will still enjoy following along.

I LOVED your pop century theme night :) DD thinks we should do some theme nights so I guess we'll have to brainstorm some ideas for it.

Love your countdown too! We are heading out to pick up some Mickey Heads for ours tonight :thumbsup2

:welcome: Wakica!!!!!!

Thanks!!!!! I highly recommend the Disney nights- they are really fun!!!!!
I picked up the Mickey Heads from the Home Depot. I peeled off the paint chip and cut around the Mickey head and just traced it onto poster board. Yes, between Paul and I we cut out 100 Mickey heads :scared1::rotfl2:!!!!!!!

Good Luck and have fun!!!!!

LOL - I'm with ya - I just finished cutting ours. Over 30 b/c dd figured she'd like to do more than 30. I think I'm around the 37 mark maybe and I refuse to cut out any more so we'll put them up with a paper clip chain link beside them. We'll take off a clip per week until we are at the point we can start taking off the Mickey heads. She's happy with that thank goodness b/c my finger is sore. I would cut around but slightly UNDER the head so that the edges would stay nice but sometimes it was hard to get under the edge so I'd have to do some ripping of the under part afterwards to get all the underneath stuff off in corners and my finger is seriously SORE now from doing it. LOL Might have helped if I had some nails to grab at the paper with but low and behold I'm a nail biter so had to suffer through it :headache: Oh well, they are cut out now and we will go look for some nice number stickers to put on them. That reminds me - I better stick a mickey head in my purse right now so I make sure to get the RIGHT SIZE numbers!!!

Oh my Wakica!!!!! I only cut out one of the paint samples and then traced 100 of them onto colored poster board :scared1:!!!!!!! Believe me, I understand your pain!!!!! I would cut out 100 more in a heartbeat just to be in Disney right now though!!!!

Hey Everyone!

I am just sitting here on these boards after having a quiet night at home by myself. Austin has been asleep for a few hours, and Paul had a few things he had to do at his own house, so he did not come over tonight. I meanwhile did laundry, and then Austin and I went out to JCPENNEY's because they had a full set of KitchenAid knives in the block on sale for $50.00- plus I had a $10.00 off coupon- score !!!! I have always wanted a good set of knives, and I love KitchenAid products (Paul got me the stand mixer for Christmas and I love it!), and I just couldn't pass this deal up :confused3!!!!!

Paul and I were talking on the phone for a while, and I would like to get your input on this. Now all of the Disney Parks are great, don't get me wrong, but we really want to do World Showcase at Epcot and I was worried that it wouldn't keep Austin's interest. So, I was looking different fun things to do for him tonight and here is what we came up with:

1. There are a few different rides throughout World Showcase- we will be doing all of these.

2. Kidcot Fun Stations- has anyone had any experience with these? I read that you pick a country to start in and get a mask to decorate (I think they might be Duffy the Bear instead of the mask now), and each country you go to, you get a stamp, charm, or a CM will write something in their native language on your mask/Duffy. We will definitely be doing this. Austin loves crafts and LOVES to color :lovestruc.

3. Kim Possible-he may be a little young for this, but it may be a
"Possibility" :rotfl2:.

Any suggestions, or has anyone done any of these?

Tomorrow night will consist of cleaning my house and packing because we are going to the Poconos for the weekend with family. We are leaving Friday night and coming back Sunday. I will be sure to post pictures.

Have a nice night everyone :wizard:!!!!

We are back from the Poconos :worship:!!!!!!!!!!! We left Friday night after work and got back 8 am this morning. I think we took like two pictures- I will upload them later!!!
