Our May 2012 Pre-Trip Report- What Will We Celebrate???

I've taken my son several times through world showcase since he was a baby and there has always been enough to entertain him. Like you mentioned there are the kidcot stations, many of the shops have a toy section that always fun to look through and play, also many of the pavillions have different performers throughout the day that he may like. We have also encountered many character meet and greets throughout WS.
Have not tried KP but sounds like fun.
We looove WS, hope your son enjoys it as well

I love reading how everyone gets ready for a Trip to WDW....the counter downer is a MUST do!!! Only 3 months and 5 days till we take our kids on there 1st trip to WDW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...better get to cuttin out some Mickey Ears!!

That sounds great blancah!!!!!!! My son loves to color and do arts and crafts- so we think the Kidcot stations are going to be a hit. Did your kids do the mask or the Duffy the Bear?

I agree, i think he'll love WS. Our dd did the stations too when she was younger and loved it. It was when they had the masks and she loved looking around at the stuff at each station, getting her passport stamped, having them write things. it was a really neat way to get the kids involved.

I had thought of doing the Kim Possible thing for my dd but when we had a look at the video on it we decided maybe she's a bit old for it. lol. i'm sure your son would have a blast though. My dd is going to be 14 on the trip - how old is your ds?? I saw his pic on the first page but don't recall seeing an age (I could have just missed it though).

Hi Everyone!!!

I know,I know, I've been a bad Diser for not posting in almost two weeks, but I've been around . Anyway, I can't post any pics tonight because Paul has his camera with him, so maybe tomorrow night on those.

We really haven't been up to much. I have been making a TON of tshirts and having an absolute BLAST doing it. I also started on making us sweatshirt hoodie jackets in case it gets cooler at night and for the plane rides. They all look great so far, but sorry I am not going to post any pics of them until they are all finished !!!!!!!!

We have also been doing our Countdown Calendar daily (Austin loves this), and just trying to think of other ways to make our trip as special as can be . Austin says that he wants me to make him a Disney Journal so he can write down everything he does (with my assistance of course, he's only 6, but writes pretty well), and he can show his class when he gets back. Plus it will be a great keepsake for him (and us as well). So I am definitely not opposed to making him one.

Paul and I have also been discussing where we want to eat. We are on the QSDP, but may do 1 or 2 extra TS meals. I will let you know on what I decide soon because we have to make ressies soon!!!!!

On a sweeter note-I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day !!!! Mine was the best it could be, and more. Austin gave me a small bouquet of carnations/daisies and made Paul and I Valentines. I got Austin a Phineas and Ferb game for his DS, and Paul got him a Hotwheels game for his DS. Paul's parent's got him a cute shirt and some Valentine's goodies. Paul collects Legos (the expensive ones, esp. Star Wars), so I got him the Space Center. He got me a big bouqet of different color daisies (they are very pretty) and......... A PANDORA BRACELET AND CHARM !!!! It is sooooo pretty and I wanted one soooo bad!!!!!! I swear I had a smile plastered to my face the whole night!!!!! The three of us went to Applebee's, Paul had the Cowboy Burger, Austin the grilled cheese kids meal, and I had the Ultimate Trio. I picked Spinach and Artichoke Dip, Chicken Wonton Tacos, and Steak Stackers. The dip was good, the steak stackers I could do without, but the Chicken Wonton Tacos were out of this world!!!!!!! If you haven't ever tried them, you need too!!!!! So that was my night- then we all cuddled on the couch and watched one of our Disney Parks videos (we bought this boxed set that has the different parks, its awesome). I do have pics of all of the gifts (on P's camera of course), and I will try to get them on here ASAP!!!!

Sounds like you had a LOVELY valentines day I've wanted a Pandora bracelet for awhile now too but dh doesn't think I'll wear it enough to warrant the cost Unfortunately he's right - I'm more of a necklace girl than a bracelett girl but they are SOOOO pretty I still want one. LOL. He got me a cool marble necklace instead for Christmas and for Valentines Day I got roses and a yoga jacket so I'm still happy with what I got but OOOHHHHH those bracelets are SUCH EYE CANDY!!!!!! They just suck me right in. haha

We did our celebration on the 13th which is good b/c I had the flu on the 14th . Anyway, we had the spinach and artichoke dip for an appy and I got the riblets for my meal. It was all very yummy but I'll have to try what you suggested next time - it does sound yummy!!!

I can't wait to see your shirts and sweaters OH and your pandora bracelet too LOL. All this teasing of photos to come is killing me!!! haha Oh well, something to look forward to.

The journal idea sounds great. DD did one on one of our trips too. She does something for every trip. One trip she did the journal, one trip she did a blog (that was grade 5 or 6 i think) and her classmates followed along and left comments, one time she did up a presentation board when she got back - 1 was her top 10 coasters (we did WDW and Universal and Sea World so lots to pick from) and another presentation board that I don't remember what we titled. I'm not sure what we'll do this time but her teacher is all excited about the 5K race we will be running in so she did mention us doing some video footage of it and a blog so it'll probably be a combination of pictures and video this time around.

So... hurry up on those pics hey??? LOL

Well, this is what you all have been waiting for- pictures!!!!!!!

We went to the Poconos to Camelback Ski Area and went Snow tubing a few weeks ago. We took a TON of pictures (j/k we only took two pictures, don't know what we were thinking )!!!

Also, tonight we went out to AC Moore because I needed more dark transfer paper for my tshirts/sweat jacket hoodies. So, I found these neat foam scrapbooks for kids in the foam section that I am going to convert into a Disney Journal for him. He was super thrilled that we got one in green because that is his favorite color!!!! The pages are cardstock so it is very sturdy. I also picked up foam sparkly letters to personalize it with, and of course, Disney stickers!!!!! I think I am going to surprise him the night before our trip with the finished product though.

There are so many things to use now for journals and stuff. DD's first autograph book was made up using mostly old valentines!! We wanted the character on the page where they signed. it took some time to have the right page ready but the characters were so impressed that they always chatted with Cali about it. it's so fun to put the effort in to make these things look special.

Thanks!!!! I love it, and cannot wait to get new charms !!!!! Here is what you do. Get a collection of cheap costume jewerly bracelets. They sell them in craft stores like Michaels and ACMoore. Some are really cute, and some mimic Pandora (although they may turn your wrist green lol). Start wearing them ASAP, so your DH has no choice but to get you one!!!!! LOL, YES THEY DO!!! Someone on another thread told me they do Aren't you excited now?????? Better set some savings aside for your favorite disney character charms! Tink is tops on my list and probably some form of Mickey head but nothing too wild - just a simple and elegant one. How about you???

ok i looked it up and they are Chamilia charms - i hope they fit - i'm sure they fit pandora ones though b/c the person that told me about it said she has a pandora bracelet and got one.
One of the spots that has them is Mousegears in Epcot and various other stores that carry jewelry. Someone mentioned a shop on Main street in MK but other mentioned AK had a shop as well as the Studios. I also saw someone mention World of Disney.
