Day 4 continued: March 16, 2010
We left off finally getting on a monorail and leaving Epcot. We had to ride to the TTC and then switch over to the Resort monorail track. I know Ive said it before, but I love riding the monorail to and from Epcot. Its such a different journey than just going around that continuous loop around the Seven Seas Lagoon. I mean, yes the Epcot track is a loop too, but its just a bigger, longer loop.
We made our way to the TTC, got off the first monorail, walked dooooooooooooown the long ramp, then uuuuuup another ramp and in line for the Resort monorail. I dont think we had to wait too long before we were on the 2nd monorail. Our first stop was the Poly, so of course, we said hi to our table that we ate sushi at and Kona that very morning. Our table was empty so I said to Fiancé that it was lonely. haha. I also took one last good look inside the Poly since we wont be back there until July.
A few minutes later, we were hearing To our new passengers, Aloha, and welcome aboard! Haha, yes I know the whole monorail spiel by heart. Thats just one of the things I love to annoy Sis and Fiancé with so consider that a warning Kristen! HA! We looked out our monorail window at everything all lit up- the Polys lit torches, the lights all along the GF roofs, the beautiful lights all across the Contemporary and now BLT, and of course, the beautiful changing colors of the Castle. Nighttime is my favorite at WDW.
Soon, we were pulling into the GF station. I practically sprinted into the lobby. ha. Okay, maybe I was just a little excited to finally be back at the GF. I have so many great memories at this Resort. This was the first place I ever stayed at, the first place my Sis ever stayed at, and we stayed there quite a few times before we started staying at the Poly. One of my favorite pics from a trip when we were younger is Dad holding Sis and Im standing on a chair next to them and were just looking out on our balcony at the Seven Seas Lagoon as the sun was rising. Another pic I like is Sis and Dad having tea out on the balcony too. We had so much fun at this Resort. We got our own little GF robes and would wear them to and from the pool. In the morning as we would walk to the main building, we would always see ducks in the pool. Its the little things like these memories that hold a special place in our hearts and keep us coming back to WDW.
We walked in the doors and immediately saw:
That light shining across the lobby is on a band that was playing/singing. They were really good and definitely gave us that feeling of being back at the GF, I dont know how to explain it, so I hope someone understands!
We just stood by the railing and took everything in Have you ever really looked up? Amazing:
Oh yep, theres the piano that Uncle Jesse played on/sang to Aunt Becky..yes another Full House reference!:
Sis loves this elevator. I think it reminds me of when we used to stay here:
Of course, Fiancé had to take another pic of me..again with my phone open..I think this is when Kristen asked me if I had seen the teddy bear lady yet. We actually saw her back in June, but did not see her this trip. I think Im looking for her as this pic was taken, haha:
Now are you ready for some hilarious pics?! Fiancé has the camera, so he tells me that hes going to go walk around and take pics since I was ready to go in Basin. Little did I know, he was lying! He hid behind a pole and took paparazzi pics of me! Oh yep, texting Kristen again :
Walking into Basin:
Checking out the soaps I cannot believe I did not see him in the window! HAHA:
HEY! I SEE YOU!:
He continued to follow me around, haha. I seriously could spend hours in that store. Everything smells so good!
My problem is though I wouldnt want to use any of the bar soaps and ruin them! haha
We were seriously the only ones in the store!:
After we were done smelling just about every scent in the store we made our way over to the photo pass desk by the stairs. We wanted to check out our pics we had taken at the MK and see if we wanted to take any more on Thursday. We really loved the ones we already had, so we planned on buying them on Thursday.
We headed down the beautiful stairs
Has anyone seen the Hidden Mickeys on the floor pattern? They are subtle! We found a nice couch to sit on in the lobby and listened to the band some more. We were actually right below them:
The chandeliers here are so beautiful.:
We sat on the couch for awhile. My grandpa called to see how our trip was going, so I talked to him for a few minutes. Then, we went through my camera at all the pics we had taken that day. I was so excited to show all of you our pics from the F&G Festival! I caught up on my TR notes, then we headed back up to the monorail. It was getting late and we were ready to head back to Pop.
We hopped on the monorail to the MK, then walked over to our bus stop. Again, it was so hard for me to just walk by the MK and not go in. haha. I tried to find our stone as we were walking to the bus stop, but it was hard to see since it was dark out. I dont think we had to wait too long for a bus and soon we were back at Pop.
When we got there, we headed to the gift shop since we hadnt really checked it out yet. I was surprised at how big it is! It was also neat to be walking around in there after all the wonderful pics that MeMom had been showing in her TRs and in my PTR. So this pic is for you!:
When we were done looking around, we headed back to the room. We drank some more of our champagne from our surprise basket and watched Americas Funniest Home Videos. I went to sleep content with how our Epcot day went and visions of Tonga Toast swirled in my head. haha.
