Our Magical WDW Adventure ~ 23 Days of Fun, Food, Cocktails... London Trip 2/8

Yes it is very open and light isn't it, I love that too. How come you choose the Beach Club over the Yacht Club then?

I don't like how dark the Yacht Club is, and it seems a lot more "formal" than the Beach Club. I love how bright, airy and colorful the BC is, and it's a lot more laid back and pretty. Of course both of them are really the same, but I just like the whole atmosphere of the BC better!

I didn't really find it formal, I found it pretty laid back. It is so beautiful inside, I love the nautical theme. And the rooms are gorgeous. I haven't actually been inside the Beach Club yet, so must do on our next trip. Obviously we have seen the grounds, and been to Beaches and Cream but not seen what its like inside. I don't really know why we choose the Yacht Club over the Beach Club last year, but I know we definitely wanted the YC. Maybe it was something to do with the DVC :confused3

The YC's nice, I'm just into the theming of the Beach Club a lot more :goodvibes

I'm joining the favorite Disney theme a little late, but my Disney Dream is to stay at the GF! That's my dream and I'm sticking to it.

ADR's... Part 2

So today I woke up and looked at my Countdown Calender, I was very excited as today was...

IMG_0340.jpg
(Side note: Some of you may see that I kind of messed up my calender a bit. For February and March I stupidly put in all the wrong days of weeks, I think I just copied and pasted and didn't triple check. All the dates are correct, and the countdown days, just not the days)

72 days probably doesn't mean much to most of you, but for us it meant we could finally book our 2nd set of ADR's. So last night before we went to bed I got the Skype phone out and ready next to my computer, I left my notebook next to it open on the page with all the dates and times we wanted, our hotel reservation number and phone number so we would be ready to go. So at 12pm I phoned and luckily got through within just a few minutes. Now I was only expecting to be able to book the last 3 ADR's of our POFQ booking but the lady said I could book the ones for our Polynesian stay too, and managed to do all but Ohana for our last day, which I can do tomorrow. The CM taking the reservations was really nice and friendly. She was very knowledgeable about everything and even commented on some our ADR's reassuring me they were good choices (I have never had this before, it was nice). I must say though I am a bit confused about the whole ADR 90+10 day set-up, I was expecting not to be able to book Ohana until 90 days before that date now, like I was told I had to book the 2nd set 90 days from the first date of the one I wanted, so it seems to be different information, but it was confirmed by another CM when I had to phone back as I had forgotten to book one. Anyway I managed to get all the ADR's we wanted again, including many of the favorite restaurants. I got nearly all on the exact times we wanted, only 3 I had to change by 5-20 minutes which was no problem. I am so glad they are all booked and out the way as I was really freaking out we wouldn't be able to get some of them after hearing others experiences. So here are the ones we have booked today -

Tusker House ~ Breakfast
Yak and Yeti ~ Lunch
Teppan Edo ~ Lunch

Garden View Lounge ~ Afternoon Tea
O'hana ~ Dinner
Fulton's ~ Dinner
Narcoossee's ~ Dinner
Planet Hollywood ~ Lunch
The Wave ~ Dinner
California Grill ~ Dinner
Tony's Town Square ~ Lunch
Kona Cafe ~ Dinner

For our 7 night stay at the Polynesian we were on the DDP again and had initially chosen 5 restaurants (2 signature) that we most wanted to eat in. All of these were in the MK resort area so we didn't have to do much traveling and could really take advantage of the fantastic location we were staying in. We also choose Fulton's as we planned to go to DTD to see La Nouba and wanted to eat there, and Fulton's was somewhere I had been dying to try for years (since my first visit in fact). The Garden View was a definite for me as I loved it last time, but my experience was somewhat ruined by me feeling quite ill. So we planned to book this OP. And then we would have 2 vouchers for PH so planned to have a light lunch there when we go to DTD to do shopping. However I still wasn't entirely happy as I really wanted to try Tony's Town Square as I love the look of the restaurant. Nick was happy to go there for lunch one day and just pay OP again. And then there was The Wave which I have heard some great reviews about. I finally broke Nick down with some delicious looking pictures and he said we could book it. However we are aware that this is going to be a lot of food, and that not only are we going to have to pay OP a few times but we probably wont get to use some of our CS credits. So The Wave and Tony's aren't 100% definite. We wanted to book them so if we want to go we definitely can, but if we find it too much we can just cancel when were there. I would love some thoughts on these plans :goodvibes

How weird, I just went over to your thread to see if you had any updates there, and I come back and your here. Anyway Hiya, how are you :wave2:

:lmao: That is too funny!!!! Great minds think alike! I wish I had some updates...only that I would have been down there today!!!

Ahh thats a shame. But on the plus side in a month it would have all been over with if you went now, whereas you will still have it to look forward too :cool1: So what do you think of our ADR choices?

ADR's... Part 3

I forgot to add before that after I got off the phone to Disney Dining I went online and made dining reservations for our 2 nights at Universal. These are the 2 restaurants we booked

Now this will be our third visit to Tchoup Chop as we absolutely love it there and it is a 'Must Visit' every time. We are really looking forward to going back again. On every visit to Universal we try to try a different City Walk restaurant, and this time we have picked Emeril's. Since we love Tchoup Chop so much and they are owned by the same person we thought we would give it a try. We are aware the menu is quite different as Tchoup Chop is a mix of Asian-pacific cuisine and Emeril's is kind of cajun, New Orlean's type food, which neither of us are particularly familiar with. However we are quite excited to try it, and hope it lives up to Tchoup Chop's standards. I would love to here anyones thoughts and reviews on Emeril's as we don't really know what to expect :goodvibes

Ohhh, I am super excited about your second round of dinner reservations!! The only one I have actually ate at is Planet Hollywood, but the rest are on our list of possibilities for our next trip. I can't wait to read your report on them!!

I am so excited to try them too. We have tried about half of them before, but Narcossee's, The Wave, Teppan Edo, Fultons, Tusker House, Tony's are all new. We have eaten in Kona before but only for breakfast so I can't wait to try dinner, I just hope its not as hectic :confused3

Your trip is getting more and more real with your new ADR's!! I really enjoyed making ours, you feel like you are almost there! It's getting closer! :cool1:
DLP Space Mountain sounds great! And staying in the resort you picked, on the level you picked sounds perfect! :thumbsup2
Now I am wondering why you have said you found some of the people rude and ignorant? :confused3

A lot of European's have no concept of queuing or personal space. So many times we have had or seen people push in queues and then if you say something they pretend they don't understand. And people frequently just push you out the way with no excuse me or sorry. It can get quite frustrating, and worrying at times too. When we were queuing to be let into the SM queue people were pushing and squashing, which is bad enough, but we had Sophie with us and she is pretty small compared to most. I was so worried she was going to get trampled but we were stuck in the middle of a mass of people with no way out. I have been in the same situation for SM in WDW but felt completely safe, it was handled so much better.

Wow you are getting so close to your trip!!! You must be so excited!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I have just been able to catch up finally with all of your dreams and your new ADR's. My sister and I are just starting to plan our trip for this fall!!!:hyper: We are thinking about doing one of the Disney Running Races in September. I can't wait to start looking at what restaurants we can go to and which hotel we want to stay in!!!!

I haven't been to Universal since I was very young...so the City Walk is new since I have last been there. It looks like lots of fun! I don't think you can go wrong with Emeril's...he makes great food!

I hope we can try The Wave when we go. I have only been in CR once and that was last year just to look at the Christmas Decorations. I just love all of the different hotels.

Ooo how exciting, I can't wait to hear about your plans. I love all the planning, its so exciting. Being in one of the races would be cool. Personally I really can't run, but would love to be able to. Can't wait to hear about it.

Have you seen the menu for the Wave, it looks really good. But its the desserts that got me. You get like 3 mini desserts and they have 3 or 4 different set choices, or you can mix it up and choose any 3 you like. They all look so good

Congrats on getting to make more ADRs! I'm glad you're going before us so you can post all your reviews and I can adjust our ADR's accordingly  I'm so psyched for you... 2 more months!

I know, I can't wait. I can't wait to write my real report, but then again I'm not looking forward to it as it means our holiday will be over :sad1:

Narcossee's is great! We ate there for Mother's day in 2007 and was wonderful!

I've only been to City Walk once - we ate at Margaritaville, so I cannot help w/ Emeril's but I did walk by and it was packed!
