Monday dawned and I got up bright and early (well early at least as it was very overcast ;) ). As the rest of the house and our neighbours was still asleep I decided to explore the local area. I walked down to the local shopping area and found the Champion supermarket. It wasn’t open till 9am and this was still only around 7.30am so I went into the patisserie instead and bought some yummy croissants and pain au chocolate and a fresh baguette. I had planned on only going to the Supermarket as my French is pretty basic but I surprised myself by ordering all my goodies from the Patisserie in French which made me smile all the way back to the townhouse as I was so pleased with myself !

In the shopping area there was also a Pharmacy , a Bistro , a Chinese Restaurant , two Pizzeria’s and a newsagent/tobacco shop.

Jess was the next person to rise and excitedly opened her birthday presents we had brought – A Belle dress(which she wore on the day) , some aquadraw mats (Winnie the Pooh and Disney Princesses), A colouring by numbers set with pictures from Toy Story and a Disney Princess jigsaw.

After eating breakfast we met up with our neighbours and (against my better advice) we allwent to the supermarket together to get some essentials. This took way longer than we expected and we ended up running up the road to catch the 11am bus to the parks. Tip you need to weigh and sticker any loose fruit you buy at the Champion or they send you back to do it as Bruce discovered !
On arrival at the parks we went off to you’ve guessed it –Fantasyland ! On the way Hannah managed to encounter Pluto and one of the Chipmunks. Jess stood sullenly watching these exchanges which was an improvement on last year when she would have attempted to climb my legs at the sight of ether Chip or Dale.

Our first ride was IASW followed by the carousel. It was then time for our birthday meal at Auberge De Cendrillion so we headed off to there to have Jessica’s birthday lunch.

We arrived at the front desk and I was completely amazed at how big this restaurant is inside. It is like a Tardis. We got a wink from one of the CM’s when we mentioned our name (as we had also pre-booked the birthday cake ). We were seated at a large round table near the back and had the most delightful CM serve us. She made us all feel really special and spent a lot of time pointing out Cinderella themed things to the girls -the wall tapestries, pillars and even the little mice on the plates. We all had a drink and she encouraged the girl’s to pour their apple juices into the wine glasses so they could be ‘big’ girls too much to their delight. :cloud9:

We all had a beautiful meal ,buffet starter and then the boys had sirloin steaks , Jenny – salmon and I had the seasonal special which was red mullet and was delicious. The Party Princesses :cutie: :cutie: had fish and chips and ate exactly half each – Jessica the fish and Hannah the chips !

After Hannah and Jessica had investigated the toilets for the second time (this was becoming a theme of the holiday – :confused3 I’m glad that you outgrow this obsession as you get older as even nice toilets aren’t the most interesting places to encourage me to have multiple visits :rotfl: !) . We all selected a sweet from the sweet buffet and I ordered the restaurant speciality for the birthday girl – Cinderella’s slipper. She absolutely adored it.

The CM then brought out the birthday cake which as you can see was mounted to look much bigger (and on pink mounting too !) and a group of CM’s sang Happy Birthday in French to our Birthday girl.

It was a lovely end to a perfect meal :cloud9:

They then cut up the cake and brought it to us. I expected it to be a kind of light chocolate sponge and had left a little room in my pudding stomach to accommodate it ;) however it was a very rich chocolate so I only managed a few bites , as did most of the rest of the table , even my chocoholic daughter . :rotfl2:

I would definitely recommend having a meal at this restaurant if you have never tried it. It is just lovely and the theming is great. It was ideal for our celebration due to Jessica’s princess: fear/wariness of the characters but I would go back for lunch another time. :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

That was a really royal birthday lunch for a little princess princess: , I love the idea that the CM made your little girls drink their juice out of the wine glasses, that must have made them feel even more special that day. :cloud9:
