So I guess I should start with the cast because this is my first trip report and I will say sorry right now for its length (we just experienced so much). It was my new DW (24) and I (28) and we had a Disneymoon at WDW and a 4 night cruise on the Wonder. I should start of by saying that we are both Disney fanatics and that this was a magical trip and something that we will cherish forever. All of the congratulations and special treatment we received was amazing and truly appreciated. We were married on Saturday September 3, 2005 and everything went perfectly.

The Drive to Disney World (Sept 4-5)

Well we woke up early (7:30am) on Sunday morning, the day after we got married, had breakfast, got everything in the truck and left for Disney at 9:30. For our wedding night we stayed in a local hotel in Guelph, Ontario, Canada which is where we live and where we were married. Our first surprise was there where they upgraded us to a nice executive suite with a King Bed. We drove to WDW and that was fun except for the first day that we drove all the way to Rock Hill, SC which was one very long day. The next day (Monday September 4) we got up early and drove to St. Augustine Florida. We stopped at the Florida Welcome Center for our traditional free OJ but it was closed and that was sad (Melanie: it was annoying and i was mad!). Then we remembered that it was Labour Day so oh well and off we went to St. Augustine to go shopping. We hit the Disney Character Premier store at the Belz Outlet Mall and we made a few purchases (great deals) and as we were checking out we were talking with the manager and the two sales associates and we starting telling them about how it was our honeymoon and where we were staying and the cruise and stuff. The manager told us to wait one second. She came back in about 5 minutes with a Castaway Cay T-shirt for each of us and a Magical Moment Certificate signed by the staff. It was so nice and our first Disney magical moment of our honeymoon.

Disney Day 1 (Tuesday Sept 6)

The next day we woke up, had our breakfast and then headed to WDW and the Wilderness Lodge, our first stop on our adventure. The 1.5 hour drive went fast and since we made it to the world a little early, we decided to play a little miniature golf. We stopped at Fantasia Gardens and went to get our clubs and pay and started talking to the cast member and she gave us “the Special” as she called it (as in two for one minigolf). We paid and then told her it was our honeymoon and thanked her very much. Golf was great as usual and there was only one other couple on the course and one family. So when we finished we decided to try out the Fairways and the cast member said just go ahead so a nice free round of miniature golf for us. After that, it was finally time to go check in even though it was not even noon yet. We drove up the guard shack at the WL and we tell the guard that we are checking in and we give him our name and he says “Welcome Home” and go right ahead. When we get to the front door, Jack from the concierge staff is waiting for us and welcomes us to the lodge. He brings us upstairs and to our room which was ready and says to come by and see him when we are all settled in. We had decided to just relax the first few days at WDW and not do any parks so after we checked in, we went to grab some lunch at Roaring Fork which was pretty good. We then explored the lodge and it was amazing. We headed back to our room in the afternoon to get ready for the evening and waiting for us in our room was a balloon arrangement with a signed Mickey and Minnie photo in the formal wear and our bride ears and groom ears monogrammed that we had ordered through the IPO. That night we went to the 6:00 La Nouba show and it was amazing and then dinner at Wolfgang Puck's Dining Room. Dinner was simply outstanding, the service was top notch and the food looked delicious but tasted even better. We would recommend this dining spot to anyone. Then it was time to head back to WL and get to bed. We got to our room and is was all turned down with a few towel animals on the bed including two swans in a heart and a Mickey silhouette and a WL chocolate on our pillows with the foil ones.

More to Follow Soon (Day 2 to 12 oh boy)

Oh I forgot some of the pixie dust we recieved, at Wolfgang Puck's Dining Room we ordered our deserts and they then gave them to us for FREE ( I always like that) and a congratulations printed in chocolate on a plate, it was very nice!

Disney Day 2 (Wednesday Sept 7)

Oh Day 2 at WDW, a day to relax so we thought. We woke up around 9 and went to the concierge lounge for breakfast. They had the usual continental breakfast items which satisfied us very well. We then decided to go watch the geyser and take some pictures and explore a little more of the resort. We walk down to the marina area and saw the surrey bikes and decided we had to try one, so we did (Melanie: I thought it would be fun to do something each day that neither of us had tried before). We got our bike and rode over to Fort Wilderness to see the horses. The ride was nice and not too difficult though the ride back was a little more down hill. We had a blast on the bike and ringing the bell as we made our way back to return the rental. We then headed to Downtown Disney Marketplace for some shopping. We had to get the wedding ornament and have them all done up for us. We had lunch at Wolfgang Puck's Express in the Marketplace. This was great as usual. We went there last year and I was so looking forward to the Mac and cheese, yum. I do have to say that we did try the Express at the Westside in with the main restaurants and the items were a lot more expensive and more like the café menu. We enjoyed the marketplace Express much more and will return to the location. After lunch we did the required shopping and then headed back to the resort for a nap. Naps are very good and we love them but we did not get many on our vacation (Melanie: which was sad...but weekends are good for naps too!). We decided to get ready for dinner early and go do a little resort hopping of the monorail resorts. We drove ourselves to the Poly and valet parked and then jumped on the monorail to the Grand Floridian. The resort is just so nice and my new wife so much wanted to stay there. I had stayed there a few times before in my younger years but she had never stayed there before. Actually the WL was her first deluxe stay. She did not yet know that she was going to stay there for our last night after our cruise so she was a little sad while we were there. She thought our last night was going to be at Port Orleans Riverside but I switched the reservation 2 weeks before we left so that the paperwork would not make it to our house before we left. After the Grand we jumped back on the monorail and headed to the Contemporary. I can say that is all my times to WDW I have never stepped into the resort. It was nice and the restaurants looked good (we tried to get into Chef Mickey’s after our cruise but no luck) but there was not much there. We headed back to the Poly to explore there. We had 8:00 ADR’s for Ohana’s but we had over an hour to waste. We looked around for a bit and then decided to check in about ½ hour early. We had a drink in the lounge and then we got our seats about 20 minutes later. Ohana’s was fantastic. The food was great (mmm… shrimp and beef) and I loved the wontons. The potatoes were ok but we did not eat much of them. The dessert was really good. The new bread pudding was tasty and we had it all gone in seconds. The best thing about Ohana’s was the view. We loved being able to watch the fireworks from our window seat and the music piped in was a great treat. Just for that fact alone it is a great place to dine and the food is a bonus. Well after dinner we made our way back to the resort and hit the lounge for an evening drink and then headed to bed for a big day tomorrow, the start of our park adventure and the Magic Kingdom.

Disney Day 3 - The Parks (Thursday Sept 8)

The big day was here, but we had to go check into the Beach Club before we could head to the Magic Kingdom. We checked out of the WL (it was sad because we did not want to leave) and our friendly concierge staff member Jack called over to the Beach Club for us to make sure there would be a room ready for us, it was 8:00 in the morning and they did have a room ready for us. We got to the Beach Club and we decided to Self Park since the truck would not be used until we left. We first checked in for the cruise as we were doing a land and sea package. That went very smooth and quick. We then checked into the BC and were given our room keys and passes. We made our way to our room and it was on the 4th floor with a view of Epcot (well really a lot of trees but you could see Canada and the Land). We had a Murphy bedroom which was very nice and we enjoyed it. We did like the room better at WL and missed the lounge and the extra service in no time. After our luggage arrived we headed for MK on the bus which was quick. We entered the park and headed for City Hall to get our Just Married pins which we wore. My Wife wore the bride ears but the groom ears hat was just way to small for my head and the mark on my head from wearing it the 20 minutes the day before made me leave it at the resort. We did go to the hat store to check availability of a larger size but no luck. We bought the golden Mickey ears with our names on them that we had shipped back to the resort. We did the usual pictures but this was our first photo pass experience and I must say we loved it. To get home after our vacation and to go through them all brought back great memories and all the photographers used our camera as well (I think it was because of the wedding hats and pins). We first made our way to Tomorrow Land and went on Buzz Light Year 5 times in a row and since it wasn't very busy, the one time we just stayed on. We then did Space Mountain and when we got off the cast member said wait one second and after all the other people left he showed us the back way to the loading area and we got back on. We had lunch at CRT and it was fantastic. We were shown to our table that they had decorated with the Mickey confetti and we got Mickey Straws and a certificate that all of the princesses signed as they came around. The food was fantastic (Major Domo’s pie was yummy). As we were leaving CRT we caught the end of the parade and then headed to Adventure Land. We finished all of the rides by 6 or so as the lines where next to nothing except for Peter Pan which we never rode as the line was long all day. We decided to get on the monorail and head over to Epcot to try out Soarin and we were glad we did. The line was about 30 minutes and the ride was amazing. The feeling was so real and we wanted to ride again but we had to make our way back to MK for Spectro Magic. We had dinner at the food court at the land which was very good and we will go again for a counter service meal. We made it to MK early so we rode Buzz a few more times and then we waited for the parade. I had never seen Spectro Magic so I was in for a treat and it was fantastic. After we watched the fireworks (it was too windy for Tinkerbell that night) and the battery on our camera went dead so no pictures that night. We then headed back to Epcot because it was open to midnight due to the EMH. We did Test Track and headed back to Soarin again but the line was to long so we went on Living with the Land and then headed back to the BC by the boat at the International Gateway even though we found out the next morning that the walk to our room was under 5 minutes. Well to bed we went so that we would be all rested for Epcot the next day.

Oh I forgot one of the best things that happened to us at MK on the Thursday. We headed to Toontown Fair to get some pictures with the characters. We first visited with Mickey which was one of the most memorable moments of our honeymoon. So we did the usual pictures with Mickey and the photographer was great and used our camera as well and then Mickey grabbed me by the arm and pointed to the corner. He then put me in the corner and pointed to the ceiling, for me to look there, and then he proceeded to kiss my wife behind my back. This is now my wife’s favorite picture and the new theme on her computer. I did threaten Mickey though to show Minnie the picture as we left but we were nice and didn’t but Minnie did look sad that she did not have a ring. I'm trying to post the picture but the file is just so big but I will keep trying

Sounds like tons of fun so far!!!

Congratulations!

Kelly

Well thank you eveyone so far and here is another two days (wrinting is taking a while)

Disney Day 4 (Friday Sept 9)

So we woke up, got ready for our day in the parks, and headed down stairs for some breakfast. Boy did I miss the concierge breakfast; it was just so much easier and quicker in the morning. Being able to get breakfast while getting ready or just one person grabbing some things and bringing them back to the room, or getting something on the go was just so easy and I suppose efficient all at once. Just going to the counter service at the store at BC and once we ate almost took up 45 minutes but the Danish and made to order yogurt parfait where tasty. I must also say that the Intermarry Planning Staff at the WL looked after all of our ADR’s for our entire trip (even though we were only there 2 of the nights) and got us our La Nouba tickets, which were amazing seats right in the middle, and had all of are purchase request waiting in our room. That service alone made the extra money for concierge level worth it and the food just a bonus. We will not stay concierge all the time most part because of the cost and the fact that we will most likely purchase DVC membership in the future but it is nice for a special vacation.

Well back to our day, the finished breakfast and took the walk to EPCOT, which was so nice and quick. The short 5 minute walk was great but the no line up at the entrance was even better. We stopped at the International Gateway store and I got a couple pressed pennies (I try to collect as many as possible to add to my collection) and then we made or way to the Imagination Pavilion and went on Journey into the Imagination with Figment which the was no wait at all and then we went over to Honey I Shrunk the Audience and when we were waiting inside all you see is Figment outside with his handler with no one going up to him or anything. We felt kind of sorry for him but then some kids showed up about 10 minutes later. After the show we had to race over to the Japan Pavilion for lunch at Teppanyaki which was fabulous as usual. We had the sushi which was pretty good and the steak and shrimp were tasty. After lunch we decided to head over to MGM as we did not have much of EPCOT left to do and we would be back later that night. The took the boat to MGM which was relaxing and headed straight to Tower of Terror after the pictures at the entrance of course and a stop at the Dark Room where I got a already charged battery for my camera which was about half the price then getting back home which was great since our little trouble with a dead battery the night before. My wife hates TOT but she promised me last year that she would go on but chickened out and she even gave me a coupon stating that she would ride with me but I forgot it at home. I threatened to turn around home to get it when we hit Ohio on the drive last year but she said no worries then backed out at the park. So this time she said that she would ride it if we skipped Mission Space which I agreed was a fair trade and I also had to go see Beauty and the Beast which I did. So we rode TOT which I think she enjoyed but she says she did not and then headed for Rockin Roller Coaster which se loves. We practically walked on RRC at 3:00 in the afternoon which was great and then headed back to BC for a rest and diner a little later. After our nap we went to Cape May Café for diner. The buffet was good and all the food was ok but we ordered the extra crab legs and they were tasty and worth the extra money (I think 14 dollars or so). After our very nice diner we headed back to Epcot. We toured World Showcase and had some Wine at Germany (we love German White Wine) and some beer in Britain (I love beer too) and then found our spot for Illuminations which was in between Canada and Britain which was a very good location for viewing. We had a metal fence to lean against and nothing blocking our view. When Illuminations finished we raced out of Epcot and made our way straight to Jelly Rolls at the Boardwalk. We love this place, it is always so much fun and the crowd gets right into it. We found our seats, well stools by the railing as it was really busy already before 10. We started our tab and then had a great time singing along. The best part was when they played a Barenaked Ladies Song, “If I had a Million Dollars”, which most people knew but I new all the spoken word sections and the answers to all those little questions being Canadian and all. Well after starting to feel a little of a buzz we decided to head back to the BC for bed. The walk back was nice even though we could not agree with each other which way was faster so I followed my wife (but don’t tell her I still think I was right). Well we made it to our room and crashed for the night as it was only 5 hours till we were supposed to get up and head to the EMH at AK.

Disney Day 5 (Saturday Sept 10)

So 7:00 came and the alarm clock went off so we hit the snooze button for some extra sleep. Then we got up grab the usual quick breakfast and were waiting for the bus to AK by 7:45. We were not even going to do AK this trip and if we did it was going to be after the cruise but we seemed to finish most other things pretty quickly because of the lack of crowds that we decided to head over there to get the major attraction done anyways. We did though have to get everything we wanted done quickly as we had a noon ADR at 50’s Prime Time for lunch. So we made it to AK by 8:10 or so and made our way straight to Kilimanjaro Safari after the required photo pass pictures. There was no wait for the Safari and the animals were all up and active. The early morning is a great time to experience this ride. After we made our way to Kali River Rapids but it did not open for an hour so we did Dinosaur and then Tough to be a Bug. Tough to be a Bug it one of our favorite attractions but here seemed to be a lot of smoke (dry ice I think) at the spider part that we did not see the spider until there went back up. It was kind of weird but it went away fast. There was the usual screaming and crying children which we always understand because it is a freighting at times attraction. After that we headed back to MGM at it was already 11. Well we got to MGM and went straight to 50’s Prime Time and checked in a little early but were seated right away. I had the pot roast and the kids drink because I wanted the glow in the dark ice cube but was still feeling the night before a little bit. We had to get desert so we got the sundae which we shared and finished up pretty fast. There was a family next to us and everyone had actual lunch item but not the grandfather, he just had the Sundae for his meal which we thought was cute. After lunch which was great we went to the new Stunt Car Show, Light Motor Action. The next show did not start till 3:00 so we did the Back Lot tour which was our longest line of the trip and then did Muppets 3D which I like. We then went back to the stunt show which was pretty good but really hot and that was one pile of stairs to climb up then back down and then Beauty and the Beast which did make for an enjoyable place to nap with the shade (just kidding). After Beauty we had to go to Hollywood and Vine for our Fantasmic Diner Package. I was not really looking forward to this place as I had read some not so great reviews on it. I must say though we were pleasantly surprised as the food was pretty good but the salmon was great. We got our pass for Fantasmic and then after diner did the Great Movie Ride (our guide was not as good as the one last year but not bad), and did Millionaire and Sounds Dangerous and then went to Fantasmic about 30 minutes before the show. Not waiting in line was great and we will be doing the diner package again as it was a great deal since it did not cost any extra then the regular meal price. I think we will try the Brown Derby next time though for some variety. Well after Fantasmic we headed for the boat back to BC and walked back to our room from the dock but we stopped at the pick your pearl stand and made my Wife pick an oyster and we had it made into a pendent which turned out very nice and the price was right. After we headed to our room but stopped at Guest Service at the resort to check on the cost to upgrade our 4 day passes with park hopping and plus features a day. We received our park tickets with the land and sea package but we were still able to upgrade them so we ended up adding 3 days and no expire for a total of 148 bucks with tax for both of us. So we still have 3 days left and 4 plus features for a future vacation (next May I guess). We finally went to our room and packed everything up before bed as the next day our adventure moved to the Disney Wonder and a Disney Cruise.

Next to come, the surprise and our cruise!!!!

Disney Day 6 - Our Disney Cruise and the Surprise sort of (Sunday Sept 11)

The big day was here (well the second one I guess) and it was time to go on our Disney cruise onboard the Wonder. This was the one thing that we decided to do on our honeymoon that we both have not done before. We have both been to WDW many times and I have been to Disneyland where my new wife had not but we both have never done any type of cruise. Well we got up in the morning and had to finish packing all the stuff up and then we called for bell service to get our bags. They showed up very fast and I went to grab the truck and we were off by 9:30. We did not even stop for breakfast as we just wanted to get to the port. There was some concern when we first checked in at the Beach Club about the weather but that passed us by and the skies were beautiful. The one hour drive went so slow but we were so excited. I first saw the ship from a ways away but my DW missed it and at the next bridge she caught a glimpse and all I can say is that it was beautiful. As we got closer and closer to the ship we got more and more excited. I can honestly saw that I felt shivers down my back and then we were there. We checked in at the gate and then I dropped of my beautiful wife and the luggage and proceeded to park the truck in the parking lot. I quickly put a few things away and noticed the disposable underwater cameras we purchased were still in the truck so I grabbed them and then went to the terminal and up the escalator to find my wife which was waiting at the top with a huge smile on her face. We wore our bride and groom ears (ouch) to check in and for our boarding photos. We had to go check in again at the terminal as we are Canadian citizens but there was no line up and that’s were the fun started and the surprise came out. We handed in our passports and got our receipt, we had to answer the usual questions about health and all and then the cast member as what we were doing after the cruise. I stated that we were going back to Disney world for a night and then driving back home. She then asked where we were staying and I said on site and then she asked which resort I said ummmm. Well I quietly said the Grand Floridian but my wife heard and I think it took a second or two to click in but then a massive smile came across her face. She said what and I told her all about the Grand Floridian and that we were staying there after the cruise and she got excited. My plan got changed a little but it was still worth it. I wanted to just say we were going to drive straight to MK and then head to GF but even that plan would not have worked since we were not going to go the parks on the day we headed back to WDW. Well after all the excitement we finished up and then got in line which was already fairly long a waited about 15 minutes till they started letting people on which went pretty fast. They started loading around 11:45 and we boarded by 12:15 so it was great. While in line I gave my wife the change itinerary I made up to replace the fake one in our book with all the confirmation numbers (yes I even had the POFQ confirmation number for her). When we first entered the ship and they announced us we received a bunch of congratulations and just took in the atrium which was amazing and we blown glass flowers on the ceiling reminded us of or trip last year to Las Vegas where we stayed at the Bellagio which had the same kind of blown glass ornamentation on the ceiling. Well we decided to go to Parrot Cay for lunch which was very good and we got our first DCL glass with the drinks we purchased and then headed up to deck 9 to explore. We loved everything we saw and then we waited for our room to be ready so we could drop off the carry on luggage we brought with us which was heavy because of the water and wine and we even bought a water package on our way to Parrot Cay and it was all gone by disembarkation day. We finally dropped off or stuff and checked out or room which was beautiful. Cabin 7128, which was a Navigators Verandah that we loved, was perfect for the two of us. Our Romance Package basket was in out room which was ok but the chocolates where not good. We relaxed for a bit then went to the shopping presentation which was the biggest waste of time and then up to deck 10 for the sail away party which was fun. We got another DCL glass with the Bahama Mama’s we ordered and watch as the ship left the port. After a while we headed back to the room to get ready for diner and the show and the ship was starting to sway a little. A little later the swaying turned into rocking and it was getting pretty rough. The walk down the hallways was fun and we just laughed it off. The show that night was Hercules the Muse-ical which was the best show of the cruise. We ordered our drinks and then watched the show moving with the ship and it was very funny and I would love to see it again (no luck on that I think, you will find out later). I could not believe though how the performers dealt with the rocking but I guess they are use to it. After the show we thought we would try bingo, we bought the two tickets at 20 bucks each and won nothing but oh well and then it was time for diner. We had the 8:30 seating rotation and we ate at Parrot Cay that night. We were seated at a table for 10 with other honeymoon couples, which was very nice. That night there was 4 couples at diner and 3 of us were married on September 3rd which was fun. We all hit it of and had a great evening together. The food was all good and we had a bottle of wine with diner and then they brought us all out desert. Oh and what a dessert it was, we all received this big piece of raspberry mouse cake (I think) with a chocolate ship on the top that said congratulations. The dessert was nice and all but not to our liking, or anyone’s at the table that night. We did not leave the restaurant till about 10:30 as we were talking and then headed back to the cabin to change to go to the club. We entered our cabin that was all turned down with a dog towel animal and chocolates on the bed. Well we never made it back out of the cabin and fell asleep for the evening. I suppose we where tired and needed the sleep and rest for Nassau the next day.

Here is the Mickey Kiss photo I spoke about earlier (in the edit) when he took my wife from me and put me in a corner.

Disney Day 7 - Our Disney Cruise and Nassau (Monday Sept 12)

So we got up at 7:30 for the delivery of our Champagne Breakfast which was ok. We had bacon, eggs benedict, bagels, toast and juice and tea and it was at our door at exactly 7:30 on the dot. It was good but I must say that breakfast at Tritons was much better but relaxing in our cabin before heading out for the day was nice. So after breakfast we headed down to disembark the ship to experience Nassau and experience it we did. We first had to walk through the small market at the pier which was nothing too special and then went through all the taxi and horse buggy drivers to the street. We decided to first do a little shopping and check out the stores. We were pretty disappointed with them. There were no real deals at all in the clothing stores such as Tommy Bahama and the watches were just a cheap back home. For example there was a Tommy Bahama Shirt that I bought in St. Augustine that I paid $70.00 for and in Nassau the same shirt was $120.00, the regular price. There were some good deals on Liquor and stuff but we decided not to buy any. After walking around for about an hour we got sick of the smell and decided to head over to Paradise Island to visit Atlantis. We walked back to the pier to get a cab and shared one with a small family and were there in about 15 minutes. For the 10 bucks it was a good way to get there and the drive was scenic. We checked out the shops (expensive) and looked around at the free aquarium and a guy cleaning the inside of the glass. After we walked around the ground and then hit the casino. The casino was a lot smaller then I expected and only a few tables were open (which was understandable since it was in the morning). We both played a little but lost our money so we had a drink at a bar and then decided to head back to the ship and have lunch and this was were the fun began. We got a cab that we shared with a couple of younger girls and our driver headed to the pier. He decided to take a back way that he said was faster but there was an accident on this small side road and he could not get through. So he backed up like a mad man and turned down another road but it was blocked by a truck making a delivery so be turned around and drove like a crazy lunatic back around, the wrong way down a street cutting off cars and then through a parking lot, down a one way street the wrong way and then finally to the pier. The two girls in the back were sheet white and my DW was hanging on for dear life. I was laughing the whole way, well part of the way and grasping for my life the rest. The best part was just missing another van by about an inch or less out my window at about 40 miles an hour. Once we made to the pier in one piece, he drove up on the sidewalk to drop us off, we walked back to the ship and went to get some lunch. We went to Beach Blanket and we enjoyed it. The food was good and it was not to busy at all and we were there at 1:00 or so. After lunch we stayed on the ship because we had enough of Nassau for this trip. We did decide though that next time we visited Nassau we would do a shore excursion. So after lunch we explored the ship a little more and got an ice cream and then went back to the cabin for the best thing of all, A NAP. And it was good. After our nap and when the stores opened we got dressed for the show and headed down to look around and we picked up the lanyards and water tight case (which came in very handy at Castaway Cay). The show tonight was Golden Mickey’s which was good but we still liked Hercules more. Diner this evening was at Triton’s which was very tasty. Our servers were amazing again and we actually got to order desert for ourselves tonight which was a treat. After talking for a while after diner we decided to go to the Comic Show with one of the other couples at our table. We found some chairs at the back and ordered some drinks (mmmmm beer) and then waited for Michael Harrison, a fellow Canadian, to start his show and boy were we glad we went. He was so funny and his friends were even better. After the show we decided to go up to deck 10 to walk around. We then headed back to our cabin to get some sleep and rest for the next day and Castaway Cay (fun in the sun).
