I was indeed able too book it 40% off. It shook out to be about $250.00 more than a BL Atrium CL room over a six night stay.

I was actually booked with a BL view in the Atrium and called to ask about switching to the TP view. The CM told me that the only available options were standard view atrium and just standard view club level. I asked her what the difference was and she told me that one of them had a view of the "atrium" and the other had a view of the parking lot. Hearing this, I realized she didn't know the Contemporary very well and asked her to confirm that the "standard view club level" was on the 14th floor....which she did! I also booked my parents into one of the king rooms for the same dates and rate.

Only the TPV rooms have a view of a parking lot and only the Atrium Club rooms have a Standard View which is actually Bay Lake view. So the "STD View Club Level" is in fact the Tower Club 14th floor? This may explain why when I've asked in the past for Tower Club availability with the military rate, there hasn't been any. It's not designated as Tower Club anywhere on the reservation?

Now that the 14th floor has just re-opened after its rehab and you were able to book it, I think I've got to figure out our summer dates and make a call. BTW, what time period did you have booked? Thanks also for mentioning that it was only about $40 more per night. That fits with what others have reported.

Yeah, that's how I knew she was confused. She seemed to not realize that the view of the Contemporary parking lot just happened to have the Magic Kingdom as its backdrop. After the discussion, my understanding is that the non-suite club level rooms are categorized as follows:

Standard Atrium CL: 12th floor view of Bay Lake
TPV Atrium CL: 12 floor view of MK
Standard Club Level: 14th floor queen
King Standard Club Level: 14th floor king

I was leery at first, but the fact that she confirmed it, that I was able to book a king specific code, and that the price was in line with the differences between the Atrium CL and Tower CL all seemed to fit together.

Sorry. Forgot that part. We are there 10/29-11/4. I've never tried for a deluxe room so I can't speak to if its ever been available when we've gone. We actually usually stay at the Poly but I got tired of having to follow all the construction facts/rumors.

Christine and I finally settled on POFQ and we are excited -- slim pickings this time of year and we where lucky to get the last king room!

Candace! I can't wait to hear how you like POFQ! I'm waiting with baited breath.

With this said -- Christine and I have decided to save $500 and perhaps the chance of a bad standard view at WL and go with our Riverview room at POFQ.

It may be a mod,but it's much more in our budget and very pretty. I love the Nola theme!

I feel much more settled now after the decision has FINAlly been made, it only took 2 RCers 3 days and probably 1,000 emails, literally to decide!!!

This is my trip to try EVERYTHING new! First night I'm at POP with Rosie, Second night Rosie, Christine and I are at POR in a royal room Riverview! and then dec 5-9 at POFQ with Christine ... Whew! Three resorts in 6 days, now that's some RC'ing

Marie, we love both POR mansion section and POFQ. Beautiful resorts. And they have lots to offer with evening entertainment, boat to DTD, horse & carriage rides, I wish all the resorts offered evening entertainment! Love Bob Jackson's show over at POR. POFQ has a new entertainer and haven't seen him yet.
For Royal Rooms, I'd request Oak Manor. Better location!

That's great to hear about the Fisherman's stew. We may just have to make a reservation.

We spent 4 days at AKL, a resort only trip in 2010, Sheila we LOVED it!! How do you shut the power off!! UGH, yeah I never did get myself to GF during the construction, so it's doubtful we would do Poly. Especially since HRH HATES construction! She is definitely on a WL kick. I am so at peace with the WL, both with the great rate, and that it is winter! If I could get someone to stay with us..I could justify changing to Poly (ahem, sis......) Because I can also get a great rate there. Not looking good for DS12, second day of school and he already forgot a homework assignment...however Miss Bree is REALLY wanting to come along...decisions!!

I was going to say how much I love WL till I read your next post about switching to Poly so fast I can't keep up with the chchchanges, lol. Love Poly too! But for winter, WL wins out for me. When we stayed at Poly it was a January trip, and I really missed having a hot tub. Silly, I know

14 day dance today!!!

Just wanted to pop in and say hello while all my guys are still asleep. We were supposed to have been at the MK today, but changed our day of rest from Friday to today. Epcot kicked our rears yesterday. As soon as I can get the guys up, we're going to eat lunch at The Mara and then play in the pool for a few hours.

Love The Mara. Great Veggie Flat Bread there! And Zebra Domes yum! Very cool about the manatee!

MAGIC Didn't see that one coming eh? I been wanting to stay at AKL again ever since my first stay there in 2006. I had a 1 Bdrm booked back in 2010 but we had to cancel our trip that year.

Did you ever have the urge to just change resorts? Well WL was tugging at me hard but Bob wanted to stay put. I kept checking availability at WL then decided to check AKL and the rest is history.

I still have 53 days so who knows I may switch again except the Fall discount for my dates ends soon.

So a baby RC for me today. We were able to score a standard BWI room with the AP discount. So we changed from a studio at BWV to a BWI room. We saved $130 per room (3 couples going). I am thrilled as I have other plans with that $130

Not bad at all!!!! Saving money is always a great thing, and heck you are still at the BW!!!!

I am on it! DH just has to add a few more clips to it and I shall release it!

And I can't wait for the video...the new plan may involve a family visit the girls want to come too, but that will make it difficult for certain rides since Brian and Bree both need an adult...so I was thinking...book a second room at a value for DH and DS12 (they may enjoy the peace and quiet at night) and take all 7 of us....I have to crunch some $$$ and it will add to the total, but it would be amazing to bring everyone...maybe the Christmas magic would bring WDW love back to DH

Wow! Our RC brethren are sure some early risers! We have been up since 6:30, but just got settled in and was able to check up on you all.

Kook We may end up on the same monorail stop as you! Daniel says he wants to be the first bus stop and monorail stop.

Melissa He is holding steady at Pop/Poly for now. I really don't want full sized beds. Maybe if I let him think he chose the Poly I can get away with POR for the first few nights.
