Just popping in to say a quick hello. Joey's football game went well, but he didn't get to play. They won 15-7. Thanks to the seats being in the direct path of the sun, I sweated so much my hair was as wet as it is when I get out of the shower. I know he was disappointed, but I was ok with it. I was afraid if he had played, he ran the risk of getting hurt the night before our trip. Two of us will take a shower tonight and two in the morning. The minivan is already 90% packed. The DH asked each DS what time they wanted to get up for us to take the last two showers to get ready to leave and they both said 6 AM. I'll get up then and get my shower and then JM will get his. The last thing we'll do before leaving the DFW area is to eat at The Original Pancake House. I'm hopeful we'll be on the road to WDW in about 12 hours from now.

Hate to be a bummer and bring more bad news....GEE 2013 can really just be over by now!!!

DH just got a call that his Dad has been diagnosed with cancer in his Kidney.
Bad News
Good News: The mass is fairly contained and small, they will do surgery and try to slice out the bad part/ if not will remove the whole kidney.
Good Prognosis for recovery as people can live with one kidney....but really, it's just more bad news we didn't need this year!

Now both my Dh and his Dad are awaiting surgeries!

I can't remember if I told you all that DH's surgeon said he would probably not gain full function of his hand again... there is still very limited movement. he most likely will not be able to be on the front lines of law enforcement work, will have to take a more admin/ supervisor/ intell type route. hoping he will still be able to work as a sheriff, but it is still unknown in what capacity yet.

We decided with the surgeon we will take the route that bodes for the best chance of functionality for Allan's hand....he will be getting a joint replacement in his knuckle to try and gain some more movement, and a scar surgery to try and strip the scars, realign the joint and get some better tendon gliding so he can have better movement. prosthetic joints only last about ten yrs. but it is his best chance at getting his finger to move as much as it can.... so that's the plan now.

It's been a crazy year that we will not be sorry to say goodbye too!
My only bright light is my DEC trip and getting to meet my dear friends

So sorry to hear the news about your FIL, but the good news is it sounds like it's still small and contained and can be removed...my MIL starts chemo next week. Surgery isn't even an option at this stage...

Marie, my MIL had kidney cancer 10 years ago at age 85, she had the surgery and the tumor was contained, and no further treatment was needed. I pray the same holds true for Allan's dad.

Called the kennel and made Bella's reservation, I feel like I am forgetting something but not sure what

Rosie and I are one night at POP. I wonder if she will get an email closer to DEC to test magic bands? I was wondering if they did it for one night stays, I'd love to get a pink magic band I am onsite for my whole stay, I move over to POFQ from the 5-9... but that was booked through the unnamed travel site deal....and FQ isn't in the testing phase yet.... but because I am at pop first, i am wondering if i will get an invite for a magic band??

Thank you, my friend. She lost a couple of new friends but has made a couple of new ones. Kids are amazing. Even keel this week, so all's good. How's Sam?! I still think about how COOL that shirt of hers is!
