Our little thread of BIG Resort changes*OLD THREAD link on last pg. to new thread!

Well at least now he's using the word "if" when it comes to using a scooter. Hopefully, by the time you get closer to your trip, he'll realize how right you are about needing it.

I hope the labor isn't too much. Also, sending a Texas size load of pixie dust to your DD that her interview goes well.

Honestly, I've been just so bleh. I've come to the DIS several times, and did post on a thread about Kidd, but I just haven't been in the mood for the boards. I've listened to him on the radio so long, it's like I've lost a favorite uncle. Then I have been really dreading today, since it's the last day FD is available and I assume the last day you can make changes to our reservation and keep the FD. The DH has been keeping me in the dark (and still is) about the amount of money he has saved away for our drive there and back. Yesterday, he made it sound like we would really have to downgrade to the CSR in order for the trip to happen. Turns out the (insert Donald Duck style rant of a lot of non-Disney style words to describe a donkey of a DH) has a lot more saved than he was admitting to. He claims, he only has 2/3 of the money we need, but I know if he'll admit to that much, he has all we need (and maybe more). I've been mainly watching tv shows on my laptop. I got sucked into this tv show called "Starter Wives Confidential", and now I'm watching a show on Netflix called "Hemlock Grove".

Oh and I just the lady a FB message that I wanted to buy t-shirts from for MNSSHP. Instead of buying the t-shirts from her, I'm just getting the appliques and sewing them on myself using just a temp stitch. This way, they can be taken off later and the guys can wear the shirts again. I'll probably just sew mine on, because I know I'll wear it again. Then a lady on the DIS September FB group posted a picture about how she glued some crystals onto the side of her sunglasses in the shape of a MH. I'm really thinking about going to Hobby Lobby, getting some nice sparkly crystals to do that to my sunglasses for the trip.

Anyway, I'm sure this Eeroy funk will pass. Afterall, we only have 37 days until we leave for WDW!!!

Sending you out a hug Wookie... trust me I get those funks too sometimes.

Wookie,

Sadness happens. Dd leaving for college soon and sometimes my eyes just "leak".

It won't matter which resort you end up at. You will still have an awesome time:goodvibes

Think of the people who have never been :confused3

Trish

Wookie: Sorry about feeling bleh. You're getting so close, chin up! Since you like Downton Abbey, have you seen "Selfridges" yet? Not nearly as good as Downton but not bad for a period drama. Mind you, I've never heard an American accent quite so horrendous as Kika Markham's (she plays Harry Selfridge's supposedly American mom). It's kinda fun just to watch and listen to her. (Weird because lots of English actors totally nail American accents. Heck, one of my favorite series of all time starred a guy who I'd have never thought in a million YEARS was an upper-crust English lad. He totally convinced me he had a northern Maryland/Baltimorean accent; kinda embarrassing considering that's my home state. :rolleyes1 )

Linda: Oh NO! EEP! So sorry about the brakes. That happened to us when we were driving across (down) country on vacation... brakes we just HAD replaced. Never again did we use a "local" garage. Glad it'll be sorted soon for you. Huge buckets of pixie dust your DD's way for the interview...

pixiedust: pixiedust:

Good morning to all. :goodvibes

I'm just getting horrible with my multi-quotes... shirking off my task AGAIN! I've missed so much.

Janet: Happy Belated Bday to Paul! Will Carlie's fam stop by on the drive back to Wisconsin? Glad Sam had a wonderful trip with her BFF. No packing yet... still waiting for tomorrow?! I'm going to hitch a ride in your suitcase,
I am... I am! :rolleyes1

Jen:  to you, my friend. They never told us how hard all this "mommy" stuff would be, eh? :upsidedow Oh NO! You gave up a BB offer? Eep.

Sue: John Cleese! Oh, I'm envious. The name of his tour! :lmao:

Pas: Still in Williamsburg? :goodvibes I have fond childhood memories of my visits there. Did you get the obligatory "in the stockade" pictures? :thumbsup2 Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay for booking!

Magic: WOOOOOT! Hope you get a little Pixie Dust today! :woohoo:

Koh: Enjoy SeaWorld! :goodvibes

Trishadono: Thanks for that HP link. Every time I see something from the WWoHP (or step foot inside the Universal store of MCO) I get a strong hankering to go.

Marie: Have fun at the dinner theatre tomorrow!

Heather: Wowza, that IS early!

Kookster: You're there?! YOU'RE THERE! YES? :worship:

Sheila: I'm so sorry... but I let out a HUGE laugh when I got to this part in the latest SoB: "...old and grey you look like you need one" :lmao: So, there is hope on the horizon that he'll go for a scooter -- be it with a prop knee brace or not? Good!

Wooks: How's things?!

Who else am I missing? Here's some :grouphug: to go 'round.

~~===============================~~

Going on Day 3 of 7 of the much-dreaded "No Respite Until Bedtime While Daddy's Away" week. We have not maimed or killed each other or any innocent bystanders (like the dog), so things are going quite well, I'd say. :rotfl:

I saw our pal "Stripey Kitty" in the backyard yesterday. Just hanging out and walking around... and I almost let the dog out. Thankfully I saw him first. Because I know full-well, Miss Einstein would've made a bee-line for her little stank-buddy.

Miss I wake up middle of the night a lot so Bella does too and will want to go out, we have had a few close calls with one of those pretty blk/wt kitties it is only a matter of time I'm sure :rotfl2:

No way I can multi quote .... too much going on since I've been gone!!! Lots of pixie dust to those of you in our Magic Place!!!

Last Wednesday DH and I drove 3 1/2 hours each way to pick up a puppy for DD .... cousin to our wonderful dog, Samwise.

Thurs and Fri were quiet ... if you call dealing with 2 puppies, one which is not house broken, quiet!

Saturday I packed the truck with empty boxes to fill with DD's stuff, loaded up the 9 week old puppy and headed out for the 6 1/2 hr drive to Santa Monica. Uneventful trip .... I thought .... puppy was wonderful! Driving over the Grapevine I thought I heard a strange noise ......

Sunday it was off to see DS and his new house .... cute little remodeled place that costs just way too much money!!! DD and I noticed the noise getting worse! OH NO just what we need.

Monday internship for DD, Tuesday work for DD and me ... puppy sitting and packing. Today DD sweet talked the guy at the repair shop to take a look at the truck, brakes .... GONE .... metal to metal!!! Called Midas .... brakes are still under warranty so all we have to pay for is labor .... wonderful shop next door didn't charge ANYTHING to take a look ... now that's unheard of!!! Dropping the truck off tomorrow morning and they should have it done by noon.

Saturday morning DD and I will load up the truck with what will fit and of course the puppy for the drive back to Sacramento!!! DD has been applying for jobs and has an interview Monday .... so lots of pixie dust for her please! She'll fly back to LA Wednesday morning, finish up her internship for her Masters on Aug 17th, DH flies down to drive the moving truck back North!

And then we hope DD gets a job and life settles down for awhile!!! Is it time for vacay yet????

GG Oh how wonderful a new puppy! I feel your pain with the brakes

I am the Queen of being in a Funk, it will pass but no worries read along and post when you feel like it, that is what I do. we understand

Good Morning All

Guess what I did? :rolleyes1

Yep Changed Resorts!!!

Booked now at BWI CL  I know, I know I always said CL not worth it for just Bob and I but it was only $41.64 more a day than our Std Poly Room so how could I not grab it? :)

Bob even said book the Deluxe Room that I love but it's not available for our dates :( I may keep checking

Even though I want to stay at the Poly I was having doubts ever since I booked it, kept second guessing staying there since we are going mainly for F&W and love the Int'l Gateway Entrance :goodvibes

Off to change my ticker.

Already emailed my TA to cancel the Poly Res to be safe I booked the BWI with Bob as lead guest and used his CC. I woke him up at 3:30 to ask him about switching to WL CL for a little less than our Std Poly room or BWI CL :rotfl:

I have no remorse about changeing from the Poly at all!

We are monorail resort people but one F&W we stayed at YC and my son actually liked it.(he not usually impressed).

BWI is the resort I really want to try. It is just the clown:scared1: keeping me away.

The end of my VGF trip I am hoping to get a good passholder rate for BWI, CR GW, or maybe WL CL?

Decisions! Now you know why I am here too.:goodvibes

For that $$$ I would definitely do CL and put up with the clown:rotfl2:

Sheila: Wow good for you! You seemed to be doubting the Poly choice, so this sounds excellent!:thumbsup2 $40 more per day for CL....um...YES!!!!:yay:

So help me out here ladies. POR room only saves us a whopping $50??:confused3 So I am back to thinking of a change. First DH and I were emailing back and forth about BW....would love it. But....still a wee bit more then we can really do without me having a mental breakdown between now and then.:rotfl:

Then we thought about keeping POR, but saw that we can get 2 connecting rooms at All Star Music for about $100 less then our POR room. That resort looks fun...the kids would still have the pool there. They did great without slides on our Boston trip. I know silly, but I was thinking initially that POR would be better because of the slide.

Also, having 4 beds would be great. DH could have his own, DD 9 and DD7 could have their own and I could sleep with the little one. :cutie: Which truthfully I love...don't tell anyone!:ssst:

I know it sounds like I am talking myself out of POR now. But given my kiddos ages, do you all think they would enjoy All Star Music more?

Thanks for any help ladies....popcorn::

Also, I know an AP rate could come out too later on!! LOL!

Trish Ilove the pool at BWI I think it is the best themed of all the Disney Pools!

I grew up loving Bozo and the Circus Clowns don't scare me :)

My kids loved values when they were younger.

Having 4 beds sounds great too!

I still get to sleep with dd18. Once a week or two she say "come on mom, you can sleep with me" :cool1: it helps she has a king bed. We watch the disney channel and talk and often watch youtube videos of disney . Our fav is the monorail loop:goodvibes

I have found that if the kids are excited about where we will stay it rubs of on dh and I am always excited for disney:hyper:

Aw thanks! glad to hear they still love their moms when they get older! You know what?? All star sports looks super cute too! My girls would die for the Surfs up area, they are really into the Teen Beach Movie right now! Just have to see what DH says about Sports!:goodvibes

FYI, I think the food court is getting refurbished . You have to go to music for food. I would stay with Music.

Also DS16 won't sleep with me now for 2 years but... On holidays and over summer we do an occasional night in the den. He sleeps on the couch and I sleep on a twin mattress on the floor and we watch whatever sci-fi show he wants. I will take whatever I can get!

Do you think the food court rehab will be done by mid November??:confused3

Just called and got right through, but couldn't decide when I was on the phone with the CM! :headache: So just took the $65 discount off our POR reservation. Not much but it pays for a Christmas Party ticket!;)

Your so right trish It occurred to me just a little while ago that since I switched to BWI I need to cancel the Cabana I reserved at the Poly, so there is $117 of the extra $208 upgradeing to CL cost me.
