Wookie Congrates on adding another day to your trip! Good idea about waiting on getting a pup until after vacation.

Thank you. It started out with me looking for hotels to check into the night before we check into WDW. Then I realized for what we could pay for non-Disney hotels, we could pay for a night at a value and then Disney would transfer our bags to the AKL for us instead of us having to do it. When I talked to the DH about it, he suggested doing Universal. It was just way more than he wanted to do. Then he suggested adding another night at the AKL and adding another park day. Even though I tried to talk him out of it because it was cheaper to do one night at the Pop, he insisted on doing the AKL. It was an odd parallel universe type of situation. His plan was to add another night to the AKL and then add more time at the MK. Out of all of the parks, the MK is the one I have the longest list of must do attractions.

Just stopping in quickly....

Thank you for the birthday wishes :) Wishing Sue a very happy birthday as well!!!

Having an amazing weekend....pool, beach, lobster, steamers, chocolate ganache cake, mimosas, vodka, etc :) oh and, BRUINS take the series!!!!!

Wishing everyone an amazing weekend!

Thank you

Wookie those extra charges are just crazy

I know, right? We took our minivan to a dealership, because the inlaws thought it would be better. The fil suggested us getting a radiator flush and he said it is better to have that done at a dealership. Since our mv is a Chrysler and their truck is a Nissian, we didn't take it to the same dealership. As we were dropping it off, the DH asked them if they had charges like the ones my inlaws had. When we were done explaining the charges the inlaws were given, the guy looked surprised. He had never heard of such charges and thought it was crazy. He agreed with us, that the only time people should be charged it when it comes to core charges.

Thanks everyone for the pixiedust: Birthday Wishes. Had a nice day, my daughters took me out to see Star Trek :goodvibes then had a family dinner, husband made a nice BBQ with bacon wrapped tenderloin, birthday cake, and presents! Monday my girlfriends are taking me out to dinner.

Sounds like an awesome birthday. That dinners sounds super yummy.

Well my kitchen smells super yummy. I have a pot of chicken tortilla soup warming on the stove top.

Sue: Happy Belated Birthday! Hope it was awesome! Sounds like you where spoiled as you should be :)

Janet: I would love Diva trip 2016!!! :)

Quick update while I get caught up... :-)

DH and DS are shopping with MIL in Chicago while DD and I spent the day together. :-) We also went shopping for a few things, spent a couple of gift cards we've had for a while, and had a late lunch at Applebee's. She is worn out and down for her second nap of the day! It was nice and she was awesome (until the end when she was tired and cranky and crying about everything).

Hi Sue :) I know he's an Alberta truck driver -- I hadn't heard he was from Edmonton! I hope they have the bridge fixed or a decent detour by the time you drive down!
Well that's what BCTV (Global) says anyway :happytv: there's nothing going to keep us from catching that flight down!!! Let me tell ya! Have beach hotel booked for 9 days in Lauderdale before Pop, GF & YC! Oh, news just came on, they're saying something about a temp fix :confused3 lets hope!!

Sue: Happy Belated Birthday! Hope it was awesome! Sounds like you where spoiled as you should be :)

Hi, all. Happy Memorial Day! We may go to the parade if DH gets back from his morning bike ride in time.

I've been tweaking our vacation a bit. We're staying for two days in Clearwater to visit MIL before we go to WDW. Originally, we were going to stay at the Residence Inn at Treasure Island in a two bedroom suite ($692 for two nights), so DS (19) could have his own room and bath. It seemed like a lot, so I just switched to the Marriott All suites at Sand Key. DS will have to sleep on a queen size sleeper in the living room---just as he will at BCV---but it is only $440 for the same two nights. The difference nearly pays for our rental car.

My sister came to visit yesterday. She lives with my older and somewhat immobilized parents, takes excellent care of them and could certainly use a break for a few days. She asked if she could join us on our WDW trip for three days. She probably won't be staying at BCV though. Maybe she can get a room at BC? If she can't join us in July, we discussed a sisters' trip to celebrate her birthday during Food and Wine which would be so great, assuming I am not entirely impoverished after remodeling our kitchen this summer. http://www.wdwinfo.com/images/smilies/scared07.gif

Enjoy the last day of the long weekend, everyone!

A sister's only trip sounds amazing.

Well I heard from the dealership this morning. To replace the heater hose assembly (where the leak is) is $420. The oil change is about $40. A transmission flush is $146. Then the front brakes have about 2% on them and it'll be $440 to do them, and the good news doesn't stop there. The rear brakes are only at 30% and we may have to have them done by the time of our trip. This week we're only doing the oil change and heater hose assembly. I knew we would have to have some things done before we drove to WDW in September, but I wasn't expecting this much.

Well it ended being $526 for the heater hose assembly and oil change. We still need front brakes, at least 2 tires, and possibly rear brakes and a transmission flush. We're not going to the dealership for the brakes though because the DH thinks we can get it done for half the dealership quoted price at Half Price Brakes.

Ugh...def check around for breaks. A local mechanic is usually much more reasonable.

Seems to be a running theme around here with kiddos acting up before vacations... or 3-day weekends. Had a huge dose of it last night. I'm not cancelling but I sure was considering it. Eesh. Today's a new day... and if it isn't a good one, I'll beat some goodness into it by this evening -- or die trying. (Today's a workout day.)

Good morning all!! :-) hope you hot to enjoy a long weekend with family and friends. :-)

We went to the zoo yesterday in the rain. Kinda a bust but still enjoyed the time away from home with the fam. And everybody was jealous of our rain cover for the stroller. DD was the driest of the bunch, that's for sure! :-)

Today I am running errands and making phone calls, etc. but I have coffee, so I'm set!! :-)

Have a good day, and I will check in later!

Yeah, I'm going to check Half Price Brakes and a mechanic in the town I grew up in that my in laws used before.

I'm working my friend's in home day care this week. When I got here, there was only one kid and it was one of the infants. One of the kids parents sent me a text yesterday saying they wouldn't be bringing her daughter in. Then the lady, that is supposed to be here had a death in the family. Her boyfriend's step-dad, the man that raises him, had been found dead in his home and he had been dead 2 - 3 days. By 9, we only had 2 kids so I told her she could go. Another one just showed up.

wookieOuch! Bob's air is not working I am hopeing it is some simple fix. I agree about the brakes check around I use to have a great guy at one of our local shops and he saved me $$$

Jeanette With a large family I can see the value of CL but when you have to book 2 rooms it just seems to be over the top expensive. I always said when I stayed at the Poly I was staying CL but at $150 more a night for just the 2 of us No Way no How $150 pays for our entire day of food. Now CR my dream is TPV but with the prices being what they are GW is very attractive and Definately a good option. :thumbsup2

Happy Birthday Kate!
