Our little thread of BIG changes, the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

When I do splits I like to take a cab with our luggage, they have taxi vans too. Get to new resort early for check in, leave luggage with bell service, grab quick breakfast and be at a park for rope drop. There's no wait at check in early morning, and you can enjoy breakfast in the lounge before heading out.
Sometimes our room has been ready, sometimes not.

:wave2: hopelessly behind things! Had rough couple of weeks at work. Filling in for my boss, having to be in at 6:45 AM :faint: short staffed :sad2: I'm tired!! So fell asleep on sofa watching TV prob around 8:00 now I'm wide awake :crazy2: just great!!!

Only thinking about minor plan change. Lol. Thinking about leaving Deerfield Beach area a day early, and book a Universal off site hotel for the night, so we can do early check in at Portofino the next morning and take advantage of early park opening. Without having to hit the road from Deerfield at 5:00 AM or earlier. Looking at hotels near by, Fairfield, Four Points, Hyatt, Doubletree, Hampton. Anyone have opinion? We've stayed at both Doubletree & Fourpoints.

Wishing everyone a a Happy Mothers Day!

I hope this coming week is less crazy for you.

Double Celebrating today!!!!!

I am doing both the Double Digit dance and the Paid in Full dance!!!! :cool1:

See you in 99 days Sugarloaf!!!!
:cheer2:

Congrats for both!!

And.....on the change front.....our 2015 Disney vacation is going to move from April to summer, because we pulled the trigger and booked a trip to Turks and Caicos for April!!!!!! My dream island!!!! :lovestruc

Congrats on the T&C trip!! I can't wait to hear about it and see pictures.

Awesome!!

So for those of you who don't use the dining plan, do you figure a certain amount for food costs? Do you use Allears.net and price out meals? Or distripplanner.com? Or something else entirely?

And those of you who do CL, how do you maximize your use of the lounge offerings? Breakfast, yes. Are you usually around for the hot apps in the evenings? Do you still do a TS dinner? Or a lunch instead?

Thanks!! :-)

Before we started using the DP, we would budget for food. I would look at menus and get an average for how much we would spend each meal. Now that we have used the DP, the DH says he will never go to WDW without getting at least the regular DP. He would just rather have the food paid for before we go, than take a chance on us spending it before we leave.

Had oodles of fun at BG yesterday. LOTS of school groups but we let them get ahead of us and enjoyed the scenery and just a few rides until they left... then it was about 5-10 minutes waits for most every coaster. VERBOLTEN is a crazy coaster!!! I thought I was ready for anything but this little guy caught me off-guard!

I really wish coasters didn't make me as sick as they do. I really do love riding them....until the point it makes me sick.

Hemming and hawing about keeping MM F! for Sept... can't decide how necessary the package is. Hate the thought of eating dinner at 4p, however the parks close early (8 I think?) so we can always grab a late snack. And our early meal that day is an 8a Akerhaus so it's not like we have a late lunch to fight with. :scratchin

Are they having F! any other night of your trip? The only reason I ask, is if they aren't, it could make that night busier. Then having the special seating would be a good thing. Plus, like you said, you can just grab a snack for lunch. Are you on the DP or did you pay OOP for the package (I can't remember). If you're on the DP, doesn't it just cost 1 TS credit, which wouldn't be any more credits than the meal itself.

Also, I have Sanaa booked for Sept but am wondering if we should push it to Dec when we're on DP? Or maybe do it light in Sept and do it again in Dec with more gusto? I see many people love it so twice may not be too crazy. Thoughts?

Personally, I would keep the September one, so you can decide if you like it for your December trip.

Finally, considering doing a character meal out of park with the entire fam in Dec. Would you recommend CM, Cape May, something else? Do you think PF would be good?

CM is our family favorite. This last trip was the only trip we haven't eaten at CM's, just because we couldn't make it work.

:wave2: to everyone!!! Hope everyone is having a good weekend!
princess:HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY princess: to all the Mommas in case I can't get on tomorrow!!!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to you and all the other Mommas, to both human and fur-babies.

This is what my DH got for myself and my mil...

The only problem is, my mil is allergic to strawberries. She tried to eat one, because my DH felt so bad for forgetting his mother was allergic. After she ate it, he left the room they were in and came into our room to talk to me. We were out of the room she was in, no more than 15 minutes. We found my mil with her oxygen on, and my fil said she was having a pretty bad allergic reaction. Luckily, the Benedril they gave her stopped the reaction, and we didn't have to take her to the ER.

Trip news...
6 days until our trip begins!!
9 days until we spend the day at DCA!!
10 just.....just 10 little days, until I can finally walk where Walt did at DL!! I seriously cry every time I think about it. Now if whatever junk has me running a low grade fever, waves of feeling like I'm going to throw up, and sore throat will kindly go away in the next 5 days, it will be even better.

Well said and same from me!!!

Ditto from here!!

:flower3: Thank you!

I FINALLY have my feet up, getting ready to BBQ and have a beer! YAY!

And I booked Labor Day weekend at Myrtle Beach:beach: If I drop a WDW day it pays for the beach...can't say there won't be a ch-ch-change. 6 nights may be all the Disney this Mommy can take :rotfl:

So I have spent today changing ADRs and reserving FP+ for the new plan! Although since I'm going through the TA, I can't do FastPasses for the first 3 days yet until he changes our dates! Aarghh...wonder what will be left for the 4th at Epcot...

Happy Mother's Day to all my resort changer Mommies :grouphug:

To you as well!! :goodvibes Hope it's been a good day for you!

Well, DH and I sat down and made our preliminary touring plans for our trip. I'm having trouble deciding when to schedule FP+.

I will probably change these a thousand times before we leave. :rotfl:

Only 60 more days till we can pick them out. That sounds shorter than two months!

That sounds yummy!!

I hope all the RC Mommas had a great Mother's Day!! Even though I spent the day in bed, I got enough sleep that I feel so much better today. I had let our laundry pile up and was only washing what we needed for each day, instead of getting all the laundry done. I just need to wash one more load and I will have all our clothes, that we are not currently wearing, washed, dried, and put away. Well I do still have a laundry basket full of socks that need matched and put away, but I'll do that tomorrow. Then I plan on spending Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights cleaning my bathroom, putting away socks, and packing for the trip. On Thursday, I'm getting my hair trimmed. Hopefully, I'll get 4 - 6 inches cut off. The last time I got my hair cut, my mil did it. The outside edges are at least an inch short than the longest point in the middle. At the longest point, my hair reaches about the middle of my rear end. I would love to get enough cut to send to Locks of Love, but the hubby is being a baby about it.

Yay!! :rotfl: Hmmm :scratchin Sounds good :thumbsup2 Wookie hope you're feel better for your trip!!

Thanks!! I feel tons better!! Even after we had 3 extra kids at work that we weren't expecting to have. We had about 15 kids today.

Changes booked and linked to MDE! FP+ done and maybe just a couple tweaks to ADRs (and FP+).

So I could have gotten the dining plan with my room reservation at WL through Disney, but it was going to be $800 more than what I paid through Orbitz. Sorry, but we're definitely not eating $800 worth of food in that amount of time, especially since we'll be CL! I feel bad for booking through Orbitz instead of my TA for it, but I did at least keep the CSR package with him and I had referred another family to him, so he'll have that (they're going to WL in August).

Funny story I thought...I mentioned that I had gotten FP+ for the mine train and Anna and Elsa then. My TA was quite impressed since he had gotten FP+ for the mine train for his client but couldn't get A and E. Hehehe.

Anyway, have a great day ladies!!

Happy Tuesday Peeps!! :wave2:

I'm so far behind!! (so will be missing many quotes :() Hoping everyone had a fabulous Mother's Day!! :flower3:

Trish, you are so close to your trip! Can't wait to hear about the Poly. :)

Wookie, you are even closer! :yay: Sounds like you are so ready for this vaca! (sorry the BIL is being a PIA).

Ginny, know you posted your ADRs, and will go back and check! Hope you are doing well my friend! :)

Well, I went ahead and called Disney today (crazy I know!!), and applied the room discount, and we saved almost $300 dollars! So now, we're pretty much where we started at. Score! :goodvibes

Congrats! Always nice saving Disney Dollars (so we can apply them elsewhere in Disney, right?) :goodvibes

Hi Sue! Great idea getting in the night before, so you can make sure you take advantage of getting to Universal for the early opening! Are the hotels similarly priced?

Sorry it's been a rough few weeks  The end of school is in sight!

Double Celebrating today!!!!!

I am doing both the Double Digit dance and the Paid in Full dance!!!! :cool1:

And.....on the change front.....our 2015 Disney vacation is going to move from April to summer, because we pulled the trigger and booked a trip to Turks and Caicos for April!!!!!! My dream island!!!! :lovestruc

Congrats all around... being PIF and for booking Turks and Caicos! Yay!

I have no changes to make for resorts for either of my upcoming trips, so now I just keep stalking Dining Reservations for a BOG October reservation :rotfl:

We were able to score ADRs a few days out (twice!), so definitely keep trying! People do change their minds ya know? :upsidedow

Had oodles of fun at BG yesterday. LOTS of school groups but we let them get ahead of us and enjoyed the scenery and just a few rides until they left... then it was about 5-10 minutes waits for most every coaster. VERBOLTEN is a crazy coaster!!! I thought I was ready for anything but this little guy caught me off-guard!

dimnigal1, Love that your DD takes on the rollercoasters!! :woohoo: Thought about you this weekend as Sam finally got the nerve to try the rollercoasters at Dorney Park... probably 'cause she was there with friends.. when she sent me a text that she went on Steel Force and was in the FRONT it shocked me!! This the child that up to last year only did family coasters! My baby is no longer a baby (and that's good). :goodvibes

Hemming and hawing about keeping MM F! for Sept... can't decide how necessary the package is. And our early meal that day is an 8a Akerhaus so it's not like we have a late lunch to fight with. :scratchin

Tough to say... although it is nice to have that priority seating, especially in hot weather. It seems you have a good set up with early breakfast / early dinner. Remember by the time you are seated and get your food it will be closer to 4:45pm.

Also, I have Sanaa booked for Sept but am wondering if we should push it to Dec when we're on DP? Or maybe do it light in Sept and do it again in Dec with more gusto? I see many people love it so twice may not be too crazy. Thoughts?

We liked it in December. If you can fit it in, go for it!

Finally, considering doing a character meal out of park with the entire fam in Dec. Would you recommend CM, Cape May, something else? Do you think PF would be good?

We done CM and PF (both breakfast & dinner)...enjoyed them all. We really love CM, and the fun interaction with the characters. Its just so happy and fun. PF was great too with those wicked stepsisters. What do you think the kids will like best? Will Cape May be convenient for when you would be going?

DH agreed to the split!!!

7/2-7/7 at CSR and 7/7-7/11 at WL CL!!

:yay: Sounds great Krystal! and great score on the FP+ for the Mine train and Anna & Elsa!! YEAH!

And a big :welcome: to all the new RCers!!

Grats on getting the mine train and A&E FP+s. I am still on the fence about the mine train for my September trip. I'm just afraid about the moving of the mine cars and of getting sick. I don't want to get sick like I did this last trip. Space Mountain and Big Thunder have never bothered me. It was just R&Rc that got me.

Wookie, you are even closer! :yay: Sounds like you are so ready for this vaca! (sorry the BIL is being a PIA).

We are all so beyond ready for this vacation. The only problem is, I already have a case of the "I'm too excited to sleep". Tonight, I just have to do two loads of laundry, and I'm not doing anything else. I may knit though.

OMG!!! I just got a FP for Illuminations on the 4th of July!! Woohoo!! :-)
