Our little thread of BIG changes, the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

As pas mentioned, it's fun to plug in dates/numbers on the Disney site and see. Also, sometimes discounts vary for between the values/mods/deluxes so that can change things a bit. Happy Planning and don't hesitate to ask the wonderful Changers on this board for advice - we love to offer our opinions and help facilitate any changes for everyone!!! :goodvibes

I feel like plugging in dates and looking at the different hotel costs is part of the fun of planning really. I maybe do this once a day... and based on what I see on this board, I know I'm not the only one! :upsidedow

You've got us figured out. :flower3:
Imaginary resort changing and/or resort pricing is one of our hobbies around here.

I do this all the time too! Even though I am perfectly happy with WL CL, I realized that a Garden View room at the Poly would be cheaper...BUT with the construction and all, not sure it'd be quite the same and I REALLY want to try club level!!

Just stopping in to say hello :wave2:

It's been a busy week, and I am going to try to get to bed early. Then again, for me, getting to bed before midnight is early.

See, you fit right in here!!! Congrats on the switch - not a bad price for the change. Keep an eye on any deals that come out for Sept... might be able to save even more! :)

Debating: ILs come into town soon and I want to have some ideas for a Christmas brunch and a Christmas dinner with our group of 11. Looking outside the parks and need to appeal to both picky and adventurous eaters. Plan on touring resorts on the 26th and looking at decorations. Not sure about lunch but def considering Ohana for dinner - thoughts?

We love Ohana! I don't know how picky the picky eaters are in your group though. Another option worth considering is Trails End a Buffet. An easy boat ride from MK.

:woohoo:

I made the switch! It was quick, easy and painless!! :cool1:

We're now staying at POFQ in a standard view room! :hyper:

It was a difference of $488, but to us it relieves so much anxiety about space!

I can't wait to get back! :woohoo:

Have a great time! I wanted to stay at POFQ but Mum overruled me and so we're staying at CBR again (Because goodness forbid the birthday girl should pick the resort??). I think POFQ was a couple of hundred more expensive anyway.

Oh my goodness!

I made the mistake in wading into a thread I knew would be better to stay out and I can just say that I am so glad to have such a wonderful group of ladies to query and run things by!

Thank you!!! I love my RCers!

Theme Parks/6 FP+ question... somehow I got called out by OP (over ANY of the other posts) even though I specifically directed my post AWAY from OP. Not my first time being insulted and won't be my last but makes me appreciate sane discussion and honest discussion to benefit others!

It's not worth getting involved in FP+ threads. Just not worth it. I told my Mum when she joined the DIS to keep away from Theme Parks for her own sanity.

Honestly, that thread is just :badpc:

I stay away from them too! ;):rotfl:

I only have a few that I frequent and none have to do with the theme parks! :-) I've found some resort threads are more friendly than others though too...

SO...in RC land, I am once again contemplating being there for the 4th festivities... Arriving on the 3rd, have dinner at 1900 and watch fireworks from there. Then head to HS on the 4th for their fireworks...what do you think? Super crazy? I might get an extra night out of it due to flight times and airport hotel costs...but not sure...

FWIW, the OP messaged me and posted in the thread that she didn't mean to single me out and we've exchanged apologies. I also felt bad for her - I think she's a bit naive and didn't realize what her posts would invite in. Definitely trial by fire... but MAN, some people get HEATED :furious: on here!!!

Agreed - some threads seem much more hospitable and some boards much more lowkey.

I like your Fourth plans!!! I am thinking of doing PF on Christmas Eve to try and watch the fireworks after with the fam, so it cracks me up that you have the same idea... 6 months earlier! :rotfl: I've heard the 4th fireworks are showstopping so I say go for it!!!:thumbsup2

Hi. I plan to go in August and try out several resorts. Thinking of POP, AoA, & Kidani.
Since it will be 3+ different resorts, will I get 3 separate sets of Magic Bands?
I will be booking Room Only w/ the summer special :cool1:

Yes you will get 3 separate sets! I'm also going in August and I just customized 3 of my sets still have one more to do when I book the final 2 nights. :)

Having some ADR unease:

CURRENTLY HAVE:
...Sept
.....HS day 1: H&V lunch
.....HS day 2: 50s PT dinner

THINKING:
...Sept
.....HS day 1: 50's PT lunch
.....HS Day 2: F! package

...Dec
.....HS day: H&V B or L

My thought is it would be easier to do F! this trip (v with the holiday crowds), having the package lets us enjoy rides up until F! rather than waiting in line to get a spot, and LO might be more into Sofia and Doc at 20 months v 15 months.
My concern is if H&V will be too hard to book in Dec? It will just be the 4 of us (family is splitting up during park days) but I hate to lose out on an ADR I already have. But I do worry F! will be a hard grab in December... hmmmmm :scratchin

Is there only one showing of F! a night in September? If that's the case then you may want to do the package vs December, BUT do they usually do 2 shows a night in December? The later show is usually easier to get into (without sitting for an hour ahead of time and without an ADR).

I was just trying to figure out logistics of this possible 4th of July trip...has anyone been at HS on the 4th? Would I be able to see F! that night too? (There are 2 shows, 1 before fireworks and 1 after) And we want to sign DS up for the Jedi training...

Hmmm.... musing on your musings... I think it might be easier to do package now so that if DH and DD6 want to do F! in winter I can just take LO back to hotel v. waiting for late show. Plus, if ILs want to see F! I can grab both little ones and not miss out overall. Hmmmm...

I read Easy WDW for the 4th and it looks like HS is best spot for Fireworks but that everyone rushes to the later showings of F! because of the fireworks. Still, I would imagine most people would aim for the 1030 show and the 11 would be emptier from everyone A) going to the early show and then watching fireworks, B) people watching fireworks from line for 1030 show, and the fact 11 is LATE for lots of kiddos. Can you do F! package at all for that night? I'd hate for you to miss out but am not sure how many people will have your idea of watching fireworks and then taking in later show. Wish we could have a crystal ball!!! :bitelip:

I do have a friend that did Jedi Training on Christmas Eve and said she had to prep her son to RUUUN (I believe they need child there). My only fear is that you would get a mid-afternoon slot and are you prepared to do RD, mid-day Jedi and then late night festivities? I know for our crew that's a long day (we usually do midday break anytime staying after 10 in a park) but if it works for your group I say go for it!!!
