Our little thread of BIG changes, the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

Phantom is probably my second favorite show. Wicked is the most amazing thing I've seen and will likely stay at the top of my list (until Frozen comes out on Broadway!) would love to see Newsies, but considering I can't get to NYC, I have to wait until they're in Chicago... Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Hopefully, I can see Wicked the next time it come to the Bass Hall in Fort Worth. If I had my way, while we are there we would see PotO, Les Mis, and Wicked.

:wave2: :yay: Was booked at the YC too but that was the other day... YC and SAB look amazing! Enjoy! Oh I like this rationale!! So have you encouraged DH on taking the ultimate hunting/fishing trip? :teeth: Oh, I bet this is some cute pix!! :flower3: Krystal, I think I'm up to date with your changes!! and it all sounds good! Still getting in the princesses and those lovely step sisters :) Gotta love Chip and Dale too! :thumbsup2 Sue, I wish! this morning was one of "those" mornings... so of course I was like "you have 3 BBs booked, so use ONE (sooner the better)!! :upsidedow You bet Linda!! :woohoo: Sue, I am thinking of trying to fit in a GC also... we did this in 2006 and Sam had so much fun! Love your road trip plans! We have seen several shows on Broadway over the years. Phantom 2x. Love the music and have the CD. Les Mis was wonderful and is returning to bway.. hoping to get tix. Kim, being at BWI during F&W will be fantastic!! You all will have a great time! :goodvibes :woohoo: You have been added!! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SOOO... the changer who never officially changes (plenty of mental changes :)) made a change to the POLY for August. :woohoo:

Plus it is more convenient for us to stay at BWI because of our Kouzzina ADR. Our plan is to leave my friend's house around midnight on Thursday night and get into WDW no later than 7:30 AM. My friend had me make an 8:00 AM Kouzzina ADR, and she needs to have her scooter delivered to her. If we're checking into the BWI, we will for sure not miss our ADR and we can have the scooter delivered while we are eating or checking in.

Love all the musical lovers on here! :mic:

We're trying to see as much of the U.S. with the boys before they graduate. I'll take all the help I can get with the DC part of the trip. Even though my sister lives there, she will only have been there a year when we come. You have many more years of knowledge than she will when we get there.

Fun!!! Love offering advice about DC/Baltimore almost as much as Disney. My MIL grew up near Baltimore but hasn't gotten to spend a ton of time in MD since she left so when they come out next month and in June, I have SO many things lined up. Gives me an excuse to play tourist, too! :upsidedow Going to Spy Museum and taking a trolley tour for the first time in forever! (no dancing through the night, though) :rolleyes:

I don't think I mentioned on here that my girls and I will be down in your neck of the woods at the end of April. :goodvibes

We are using their school vacation week to go visit grandma (my mom) who lives down there. We fly down on the 27th!

Oh fun!!! Make sure to bring some spring weather with you!!! ;-) Any fun plans? That will be after a lot of the breaks here so should be smooth sailing for touring around!

I don't think I'll be bringing any spring weather....we are still in the 20's here! I was hoping to travel into the spring weather. ;)

No huge plans, but my oldest turns 10 while we are down there, so we are going to go to the harbor and do the museum and aquarium...the usual....

I actually spent the majority of my summers down in Maryland staying with my grandmother, so going down there doesn't really feel like a "trip" to me, but the kids are excited...they get to see their MD cousins and stuff, so that will be fun! :p

Baltimore is such fun! Always an adventure (for good and for bad). DD love Ft McHenry and Science Center... hoping to do Port Discovery this summer. DH LOVES eating at Fogo de Chao and I love Rusty Scupper!
You could always make a side trip to Six Flags! It's about 30 min southwest of Bal'mr. And Medieval Times is always great (with fanTASTIC military discounts!) - that's about 15 min south of the city. I'm partial to Annapolis, myself - went to college there and used to 'escape' to the waterfront and mall as a teen :-)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Question: we are currently booked for Christmas week at POFQ with ILs, HOPING for a good discount during a few nights, otherwise we might have to split with SoG (which I'm okay with doing but would rather stay at one resort). Discounts won't be released until summer/fall, after we do ADRs. My question is that if we make ADRs for the week, and then have to move to SoG those last few nights, what happens to our ADRs at the end of the week? Will they disappear because they are attached to the reservation? Hate to think of that happening with the Christmas craziness!!! :scared:
Is King's Dominion still around??? I used to go there all of the time.... :rotfl:
My mom is in Reisterstown, so about 40 minutes outside of Baltimore...We might hit some attractions in DC as well. :goodvibes
You know you can do the EWP and the beach or wishes. I know you can do it from GF too, but there is something remote and peaceful on the FW beach
UGH
:cheer2: AWESOME!! Congrats. I would upload some pics but I am locked out of my photobucket account and my little guy broke my laptop GRRRR:flower3:
I also did the Orbitz discover deal, then ch-ch-changed my whole trip :rotfl2:
:cool1:
:-) DD's newest thing is the fact that she wants to ride the Barnstormer.
So fun:cloud9:
Sounds like a good plan:) BWI is on my "to do" list.
Yep us too! Enough already. I think that's why we are booking right now. Need to escape the cold:eek:
Had some problems and erased some of posts to you guys and now I can't remember which ones. Sorry!
Happy afternoon to you all :)
No, you shouldn't lose the ADRs no matter where you end up. :-) I was booking tentative ADRs for our non existent June trip and 4th of July trip. Lol. No hotel reservation and no tickets attached. :-)
Happy Friday y'all!!
Today has been an easy day. We only have one of our 3 months or younger babies. It's nap time and everyone is down for a nap.
For those of you that know the BWI, since we'll be in Epcot a lot, what should we do for our room requests? Should we do near the lobby, or as close to the boat/ exit to Epcot as we can get?
Hey everyone! Definitely a Happy Friday!!
Thinking about upgrading to a deluxe resort for the last 5 nights of our stay.
Toying with the idea of splurging and doing the Magic Kingdom View in the Contemporary. We will be there at the beginning of February 2015 and I'm thinking I will get an annual pass (as we need 15 days and the 10 day passes expire after 14). Anyway, thinking there is a good possibility there might be room discounts for AP holders at that time of year but do you know if Contemporary is typically included? And more specifically if the Magic Kingdom view rooms are typically included?
Hi Wookie,
I'd probably ask to be near the lobby. There are stairs as well as an elevator that will take you down to the boardwalk. From there, it's a short walk to the International Gateway, and then you enter the World Showcase! :yay:
Hi bhyer,
It sounds like you're planning a wonderful vacation. I use Mousekeeper's historical discount page to get an idea of what might be available. It's been very helpful to me in the past. http://www.mousesavers.com/historical-information-on-walt-disney-world-resort-discounts/
I don't know the answer to you question about AP discounts and the Magic Kingdom view rooms at the Contemporary. Hopefully someone here will chime in, or maybe ask on the Contemporary Resort thread. Happy planning! :goodvibes
We'reeee booked! :cheer2::cheer2:
1st-15th March at CBR, 14 day ultimates and a couple of days at Universal too. This is going to be amazing. We can do Disney at a more leisurely pace then last trip.
Wow I have never stayed more than 6 nights yet often many times in a year.
The weather in March is usually good so... Enjoy!
Oh I go have stayed there many times... All good.
I don't recognize you so :wave:
If you are going to wwohp it is amazing
Had to come back and say you are SPARKLY!!! :)
Linda did you feel the quake last night? Was thinking about you when I heard from my friend (near Torrance).
Sparkly congrats on your trip! We freq go 14 nights in August, and love it. We enjoy taking mid day breaks for a swim back at resort to get out of Hottest part of the day. This Aug trip we've added on 3 nights at Universal pre WDW! Hoping Diagon Alley will be open by then. We haven't been to Universal since any Harry Potter has been open, they were still building.
What resort did you book?
I would love to do a WDW for that length of time.
The quake was in So Cal and I'm in Nor Cal so we didn't feel a thing. Doesn't seem that there was very much damage which I'm thankful for.
Wookie don't forget to take a few minutes to see the Sea Lions at Pier 39. Really doesn't seem to be as many as there use to be. If you aren't comfortable driving around the city the muni system is pretty good. We bought the day pass for the street car/cable car and it worked great. We were able to get on and off all day. With my back there would have been just too much walking for me without it. We bought our passes at a Walgreens ... not sure if they all sell them but it's worth a shot if you decide you need it.
We are looking forward to sea lion watching. We've already been watching the live web cams, because they are so cute!!
I have a question about Earthquakes? What do you do when they happen? If we're in the parks, I'm assuming it's better to just stay and enjoy the parks, instead of trying to leave?
Earthquakes really don't happen that often. Depending on where they are in the state you might not even feel it. This last one was fairly close to DL and I heard they did close the parks for about 1 1/2 hrs .... I think they kept main street open for shopping. :confused3
We were at the famous Bay Area World Series earthquake which was really big. We were in the top row of seats. We sat still and remained calm. Once we knew the stadium wasn't falling down we decided the biggest danger was being trampled if panic broke out. With the exception of a few people everyone remained calm and quietly exited.
