Our little thread of BIG changes, the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

Attempting to catch up for those I have missed I read your posts but I just feel too overwhelmed to respond to all.

Dani glad to hear your feeling better

Linda hopeing your feeling better too

Candace the new plans sound fantastic!

Dani It would be nice if they started to run them again I thought the one to NB and ST Johns was perfect I just waited too long to book it lol

Jeanette A Staycation in August sounds good !

Bella seemed to be making progress yesterday even tried to stand a few times but not so today yet  I had such high hopes yesterday and now today I am so unsure. Bob talked to the vet yesterday and she said call back on Monday

Hugs to you and Bella!

GrumpyGrandma: Good idea! I have done Alaska by air based out of Anchorage and going both north to Talkeetna/Denali and south to Homer by train. But I would like to do the IP and a big ole' boat with Mickey ears on it could very well be the best way to do it. ;) I will check the Alaska itinerary. Thanks. :goodvibes

disneydreamin247: Yes, Misty was soooo good last year. And this year so far her character is weak. That said, Stevie Nicks is my female idol. princess: ... Please take your meds. :flower3:

mousemommy1: Have fun planning the big boat! :boat:

sjs314: Thinking of you and Bella.

I just scored free tickets to the Brad Paisley concert in town next week. Now to find a babysitter!

Good Morning RCers,

The weather is supposed to stink today in a lot of the midwest and south.

Missoutandabout-it looks like you have a tornado watch already. What's up with that in Nov. ????

Hope everyone stays safe, we're planning to watch football today...fingers crossed the power stays on.

Sending hugs to all the every changin' friends.

DH and I are recovering from our girls' sleepover last night. :crazy2:

DD6 turns 7 on Wednesday so we had a sleepover for her, and those girls were LOUD and up sooooo late... (At least 1:30 am)...so, lazy day for us today. Football and naps...and I am probably for seeing some meltdowns from the kiddos....::yes:::rolleyes2

I received a call from WDW yesterday: The Mickey's Backyard BBQ renovation is slower than expected and will still be closed for renovation for our ADR on March 1, so they called to tell me they need to cancel it. That said... our FWC stay is now in limbo. We really planned this trip to be very Ft Wilderness centric, so I am really bummed.

DH and I discussed putting FWC off 'til March 2015 and picking another resort for this coming anniversary trip. Since I have stayed GF but DH has not, he suggested GF. :scratchin Most of our ADRs are at MK and CR so it may not be a bad idea.

Gf sounds great! At FW we went over to eat at Trails End one night. It was fun, and could hear Hoop de Doo next door! We had never ate at FW. Was easy to get to by boat from MK, or CR.

:( sorry to hear Bella took a step back. Did you find out anything about that therapy? If there's a vet around you that does it? Hope you're sending those bills to that kennel. Sending lots of pixiedust: for Bella. Do you think getting a second opinion would be of any value? :grouphug:

Hiya MM! :goodvibes

Sleepovers are fun for the kids, but no one really sleeps.
Here's hoping everyone gets to take a bit of a nap.:::yes::

Your latest resort changes sound very nice. Looks like you're got a couple of fun in the sun vacations on the books! :beach:

We just joined the tornado watch folks, can't believe this windy, warm weather in Nov!! :crazy2: It's supposed to only last a day, and then we're due for some very cold temps.

Hope everyone fares well in the tornado zone!!! :guilty:

It's misting outside here right now, and pretty fall like temp wise....tomorrow it's supposed to be 63!?!? But then hugs in the 40's, lows in the 20's after that...

Good Morning my friends! We've pretty much been snowed in this weekend in Alberta! Over a foot of snow and police recommending you stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary -- a PJ day for me yesterday , I'd like to maybe get out to Costco today to look for some lights for my mantle to decorate for Christmas. The "kids" (DS21/17 and Josh's GF 18 ) took the tree out from storage and set it up the other night!, so that's done.

Al's parents are joining us for Christmas this year (Allan's Dad just had his kidney surgery to remove his tumour on nov 12, they left him 82% of his kidney, so it sounds like a success , just awaiting pathology tests now!) Dad is looking forward to a nice family Christmas and they arrive Dec 18, so I'd like to decorate some and make it pretty!

Can hardly believe I'm on the 16 day countdown to my trip and meeting so many dear friends! (Jeanette, Melissa, Linda, Janet, Rosie, perhaps Deena if we're lucky, and maybe even more Disers who may be down at the same time!)

I went on the bog lunch FP site this morning and I was finally able to grab a FP for 2 (Dawn (my BFF)and I) for Dec 6 between 10:45 and 11:15 am!) that's great because Friday night Dawn and I want to have a nice steak dinner at either Shula's or Yachtsmans, we need to save room for that!

Speaking of which, maybe you can give a recommendation..... My Dilema: I booked my stay through MFT reunion discount. There is a guest appreciation viewing of Osbourne lights and a desert party I'd like to attend on Dec 6. Originally I thought I wouldn't make it and booked yachtmans at 8:15 pm so dawn and I could see Osbourne lights then eat dinner after. Now it looks like this is the confirmed event and we'd like to make it if possible.

I've tried EVERY day to change my yachtmans dinner to a 5:00 time with no luck!!! I was able to grab a 6:15 dinner at Shula's (will keep trying to get an earlier slot) -- this might make us able to attend the dessert party/ lights show between 8-11pm)

Which place is better for a steak dinner? I'm liking Yachtmans just because it's not Al la carte like Shula's, I don't have to pay for my potato and veggie separate. I'm liking Shula's for the quality. I'd like whichever won't break the bank as I'm paying oop, but I'm willing to pay for quality and one nice dinner out with my friend.... So Shula's??? Or Yachtsman's?? That is the question!????

We haven't eaten at Shula's but Yachtsman was great!!! :thumbsup2

So exciting that your trip is so close!!! :cheer2:

Marie raining here! Bet you're looking forward to some Florida :sunny:
Can't help with the steaks, we are trying Yachtsman for the first time in January.
So if you go, I'd love to know how you liked it. What about Captains Grille? If you can't get Yachtsman?

We had an absolutely horrid experience at Captains Grille. I cannot recommend that place to anyone. :scared:

Still here and still reading. Work has been crazy. I've spent my free time trying to figure details for our Feb trip/cruise and finishing up my photos from October trip so I could order my photo pass cd.

I also had to go get my passport because I found out last week that I am going to London in December for work - eek!!!

Storms are all over, and I have a few minutes to catch up. Last week was just crazy, my phone went wonky, and we had to get a toilet fixed. Fun, fun, fun!

Marie-You can't go wrong with either Shula's or Yachtsman. If you find that your timing just won't work, another option is the Crew Cup Lounge at the Yacht Club. Not as fancy as either Shula's or Yachtsman's, but they do have yummy food. We like it as a nice alternative when we don't have a reservation.

Lacy-London??? Lucky you!! :cheer2::cheer2:

SueM and Magic-You guys have reminded me of a few more places we haven't eaten yet. FW and Hoop de Doo both sound fun!

Dani and Linda-Thinking of you, and hope you're both on the mend.
:flower3:

Sjs314
-I hope Bella is feeling a bit better. That must be so worrying.

Pas
-Looking forward to hearing about your latest change. :cool1:

Janet, Marie
,and all the December visit crew, your trips are right around the corner!! pixiedust: :yay:

Jen
-Hope you guys are having a blast on your vacation! :cool1:

I'm signing off here RC friends. Time to get a bit of laundry done before Amazing Race. :wave2:

Crazy weather. That town, Washington (near Peoria), which you'll probably see in the news is 100 miles south of here. Lots of devastation. It's closer to Krystal. Hope she and her family are okay.

Soldier Field being evacuated this afternoon reminded me of getting evacuated during Lollapalooza -- we camped out in a highway underpass until the storms blew past. :scared: Miss M thought it was fun anyway.

Gwynne and basketlacy: Hi guys!

SueM : Yes, we adore that lil ole Hoop de Doo! Trails End is a big fave also. Mickeys Backyard BBQ is the only one we haven't experienced over ther at FW and we were so looking forward to doing it while the weather was cool.

Basketlacy: Puddle jumping across the big pond to Jolly Old England? Exciting!!!!

Chimo2u: We like Shula's although it is pricey, and Yachtsman is a big fave around these parts with several RCers. I think you will be happy with either one.

Hoping all our midwesterners were safe today. Our Bears had a wacky day but prevailed with a win.

DH went in the pool today! Mid- November is a record. 75 degrees pool water is too cold for these bones. Brrrrr!

Hello everyone! Just got in for the night here at BWCL and so far we love it here! We got here in time to enjoy breakfast (again) before heading to MK. Came back to see we were issued room with a great boardwalk and water view! This is the best view we have ever had hands down.

We have felt really taken care of already too. We were the only ones on the lounge for desserts and drinks and the staff just doted on the kids. Super group here.

The cruise was very different for us, we really enjoyed it, but DH and I both think cruising might not be for us. At some points it was really a comedy of errors! I can laugh now right? For example the first night DD9 got seasick as it was very rough, many many others were ill. Btw I love Bonine. ;) DD 7 fell out of the top bunk in the middle of the night, true story. And DD5 peed the bed twice that night. Lots of food, loved the ice cream tho and our servers were really great people. Castaway cay was beautiful and the kids and I loved pelican plunge, But overall we were so happy to arrive "home" here at Disney today.

I hope everyone is doing well! Hugs all around!
