Our little thread of BIG changes, the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

Hello everyone! Just got in for the night here at BWCL and so far we love it here! We got here in time to enjoy breakfast (again) before heading to MK. Came back to see we were issued room with a great boardwalk and water view! This is the best view we have ever had hands down.

We have felt really taken care of already too. We were the only ones on the lounge for desserts and drinks and the staff just doted on the kids. Super group here.

The cruise was very different for us, we really enjoyed it, but DH and I both think cruising might not be for us. At some points it was really a comedy of errors! I can laugh now right? For example the first night DD9 got seasick as it was very rough, many many others were ill. Btw I love Bonine. ;) DD 7 fell out of the top bunk in the middle of the night, true story. And DD5 peed the bed twice that night. Lots of food, loved the ice cream tho and our servers were really great people. Castaway cay was beautiful and the kids and I loved pelican plunge, But overall we were so happy to arrive "home" here at Disney today.

I hope everyone is doing well! Hugs all around!

Jen

Oh yes and I forgot to mention the girls have basically gone bonkers through all of our nice meals and their fighting has been atrocious. But that's neither here nor there right? Thus the glass of topped up red wine in my hand. Thank you my new CL Cm friend.

Hi Jen! Glad you are having a great time! I really think I need to get to BWI CL one of my trips!
I'm not sure if cruising would be my thing either, I'm not a great candidate for rough seas! And I feel a boat would be boring no matter how many entertainers they have.... It just doesn't hold my fancy. Glad you are at your happy place now, I'm sure you'll have an amazing time in the parks together! Can't wait to hear all about it :)

:faint: hope they settle down soon! Have another glass of wine :rotfl:

We had an absolutely horrid experience at Captains Grille. I cannot recommend that place to anyone. :scared:

So sorry you had a bad experience there. We've only been once. Food was good, service slow but mostly due to a family sitting in the same section who monopolized our server as though they were the only ones in the place, and let their children throw the crayons at the server and nearby tables. :scared:

Jen Great to hear from you!!! Enjoy Innkeepers Club!!! :hug:

I am popping in to notify anyone who needs December airfare JetBlue has 20% off today only using Promo COLDTURKEY

No changes here, super busy, and I was going to attempt to catch up, but today is not going to be that day unfortunately. :faint:

No changes here (or cancellations) I DID book Neverland Club for kiddos on December 4th...DH and I are SUPER excited for some Daddy/Mommy alone time:cool1:

Miss E Thinking of you AND super worried girlfriend!! :hug:

Hi. So glad to hear from you. Glad you liked the cruise. Super glad you got to try it out and decide for yourselves!!! But as I understand it, cruising isn't for everyone. Have a wonderful BW CL visit.. My fave happy spot!!!! And have a great WDW time!

We made a change!! We have decided to "give up" on our quest of staying at every Disney resort...especially since there are some that we just have absolutely no interest in... (FTW, CSR....) So, since we can't stay at the POLY (which is still on our must do list), we are going back to our favorite -- CL at The WL!!!!! :cool1:

Hello to all of you. :grouphug:

Jen: Will you be enjoying more wine on your own this evening?! :rotfl: :thumbsup2 These old men, I swear. :rolleyes1

Sheila: How's Bella doing? :hug:

Candace: I would tell ya to "STAY PUT" now you're back at your WL home, but there's just WAY too much time for those changes. :lmao:

Miss E Thinking of you AND super worried girlfriend!! :hug:

Nothing amiss here! Thanks, chica. :hug: The reports and pictures of what happened downstate though are sad, to say the least. (We had to watch the news in secret because when we were getting flash flood warning / severe thunderstorm warning notifications on TV and on our phones, Miss M started getting scared. :scared: She kept asking if we were going to have a tornado.) We just had crazy winds and rain like all get-out. Outside of the flooding we had back in April, we've been lucky weather-wise this year.

Home. ::yes::

There is definitely a feeling of calm, when I am booked here. :goodvibes

How about you just don't listen to anything I say, until I am actually at resort of choice...yada, yada, yada...:faint:

Lacy-London??? Lucky you!! :cheer2::cheer2:

Gwynne and basketlacy: Hi guys!

Basketlacy: Puddle jumping across the big pond to Jolly Old England? Exciting!!!!
Thanks guys! I nervous and excited and completely confused trying to book my travel!

Hey Jen! Glad you got back "home" safely. Enjoy BWI!

Well, I planned to say congrats but....I think you might have changed? ;)

You deserted me on the short cruise! I think we are sticking with the 3 day because it fits so perfectly with what our oldest has off school.

Hi to Melissa, Pas, I Heart, Miss M, Marie, Linda, Janet! Who'd I miss? :love:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I need to book 2 resort stays. One for the night before our cruise, late check in, maybe breakfast in the morning and kill some time (not much) before headed to port. The other one is for our last night. If we rent a car, we will go straight to a park and likely stay til close before we even check in and then take ME at 7 the next morning to head home. If we take the transport, we will check in at the resort but not stay, we will be headed to a park. So, since the time spent enjoying the resort will be so minimal, I am thinking about booking a mod and value we haven't tried to scratch them off the list. I was thinking FWC for the first night and then breakfast at Trail's End in the morning (hubby and I really really enjoyed this). Then for the last night, thinking two rooms at Pop. Discuss. LOL
Yeah, the WDW/Cruise combo was a good idea in theory but in practice, we just really like our long stays at WDW, so the 5 nights wasn't cutting it. We felt that the short time and then getting over to the cruise for 3 nights would feel more like a whirlwind than a vacation.:faint:
DH said we should look into a 7 nighter and make that a separate trip and lo and behold I found one that fits perfectly into a school vacation week, plus we like the Caribbean itinerary better. ::yes::
Now, everyone is happy with the length of stay on both trips. But I still couldn't get the family excited about the GF, other than DH saying "well, I have gray hair, so I should fit in" :rolleyes2
So, I figured I'd do everyone a solid and just book us back at WL. I was all excited and told them and they (they who weren't as concerned about staying at every resort), asked why not AKL??? My family is getting as bad as I am...:p
So....your two resorts....I have always liked the idea of BC/YC before/after cruises....just all seems to fit the theme...but those weren't your choices so....:scratchin
Honestly, we have done BC and it is so far our favorite. I want to do a couple of different ones and figured we could do Deluxe when we can actually enjoy it. We are going back in July and I know it will be soooo hot so planning YC because of SAB. But you're right I guess those two resorts don't fit the theme. But your family really liked Pop, didn't they? I considered CR for the last night as we want to try it but I honestly think we will close down whatever park is open latest and then get up early the next morning.
Sheila what did vet say today? Sending healing thoughts to Bella.
Heh, nearly qualified for this board. We're currently booked at CBR, but I also had my eye on POR/POFQ in the meantime. Decided against it though.
We did like POP. :goodvibes
When we stayed there in 2009, we had a great experience. It was clean, comfy, good food court, good busses. Now, the kids were 3 and 5 back then so a lot smaller so the small room size was ok but I'm not sure we'd do it now. :confused3 I don't think DH would go for it now...
Any consideration for POR/POFQ at all? POFQ was a great little resort, I really enjoyed my stay there last month!:goodvibes
Mental changes ABSOLUTELY qualify you!!! Welcome!!! :goodvibes
haha, that too. We went between Pop, All Stars, CBR, POR, CSR before booking at CBR, mostly for price. I want to try POR next trip though, or POP.
GM RC Friends I made a big post to catch up yesterday about 4 am and it seems to have disappeared :sad1:
jenny glad to read your enjoying BWI CL
Candace I came to the conclusion years ago when Disney started building so many resorts I'd never stay at them all.
:thumbsup2 on WLCL, WL with all the pine trees actually felt slightly cooler when we stayed there in August
Bella is about the same getting her meds refilled today, the vet says if we want to keep trying to go ahead. The other day she actually moved about 5-6 ft on her own by dragging/crawling. It is a job and a half cleaning up after her but I have to say she waits and goes when we try to get her up to walk and her ill fated attempts.
Other than not being able to hoist herself up and walk she is her normal sweet self.
Sue Bella's vet does not do laser therapy plus transporting her (she weighs 130lbs) is a major issue unfortunately so for now we are her therapists
I haven't released her medical records to the kennel yet but think I might as well, Bob says to do it :confused3
