Our little thread of BIG changes, the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

Yay for AP's!!!!

We are back on the AP train....it's the only thing that makes sense for the trips we have planned.

I just hope that I (nor you) run into any of those unruly CORDS in our rooms!!!!! :scared1:

:lmao:

:scared1::scared1:I know! Scary, unruly cords, in a hotel room! The horrors!! Oh, wait, I've had them in my home all my life. Never mind. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Can you believe we've never had AP's before? I am really excited about my new plan.:yay:
Hooray for your AP's too! :cheer2:

Thanks Kohl and gwynne!!! keeping positive and focusing on being able to walk Disney THAT much better! :goodvibes Awww, thanks :flower3: Glad you see it that way - sometimes I wonder if I'm just out of left field. I can't believe the discussion is still going! At first I thought "man, this guy is picky" but after seeing the posts about his first trip and some of the stuff in between it reminds me of the customers I had in my 10 years in retail who found ANYTHING to complain about to get a discount. What makes it even worse is he had legitimate issues but seemed to fixate on the irrelevant! :confused3 I am glad he finally got his knob, though. :dancer::dancer::dancer: <-- not at YC!!! Quick poll: What are your three MUST DO restaurants at Disney? Also, what is your favorite non-park restaurant? We are trying to branch out and try new things so I love to see what people say! Also, your Friday funny:

Ok, now I'm curious...what is this discussion about a knob and unruly cords?? :-) 3 must do's? Well, Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's are a must for the characters. LOVE Columbia Harbour House for QS at MK. So far, non-park restaurants that are favorites - really enjoyed 1900 Park Fare and really liked Narcoossee's the first couple of times we went. Fulton's at DD was awesome the first time, not so much the second time we went when it was on the DP...Always wanted to try Raglan Road, but haven't been able to fit it in yet. :-/

Hey Koh,
Knobs, cords, and other scary things!
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3237672

I'm off to get some laundry done. :laundy:

dimndgal, Had my mom read some of that discussion, I'm pretty sure of what she would have said...Might be a tad of a screw loose somewhere.
Then she would have changed the subject. I loved her sense of humor. Makes me smile remembering that. :goodvibes

OK, back to planning! You asked about restaurants.
Non-park restaurant: Hands down Saana. We especially like to have a late lunch there, then just share an appetizer or something light for dinner later.
Our big favorite list: Jiko, Artist's Point, Flying Fish. (We usually choose one or two of our fav signatures each trip.)
Honorable mention: Tangerine Cafe, Beaches and Cream and Crew Cup (last two for yummy burgers.)

Finally, that billboard is hilarious!!!

I agree .... hands down our favorite is Saana!

Still playing with ADRs...

Thoughts on the Fantasmic dining pkg - worth it? I don't think I want to give up a FP for Fantasmic, so I had planned on doing the Fantasmic pkg. Right now we have a dinner ADR at Mama Melrose's. How is it? Never been...good things to order?

Also, we have an 8:15am ADR at Crystal Palace and the Wishes dessert party that night. Late lunch? Early dinner? QS or TS? Stay at the park or go to one of the resorts?

Decisions decisions... :-)

I am sooo far behind, but wanted to check in with my peeps before heading home...

Melissa, have a great weekend!! Say Hi to Mickey for all of us.

Iheart: Wow, nice RC and for WDW much sooner! :yay:

Hi Heather!

Wookie, good to hear you are feeling better. And rooms open up all the time, so a GV or SV at BC could very well open up. And AKL and WL are great alternatives.

Happy Friday and hugs to all, I am getting a nap...it is a good day. Misty perfect for sleep. Sorry all I'm posting from my cell and I was busy last night at work so I'm all over the place today..

TGIF my friend!! looking forward to Monday.

I will probably be MIA this weekend and through Monday - going to my folks and then Monday I get a radiation injection into my hip to try to keep the bad stuff from growing back. My condition causes the hip to attack itself creating little nodules of 'junk'... the radiation should slow the process down bunches which means less surgery and healthier hip! :thumbsup2

HAPPY FRIDAY and  to all my RCers!!!

dimndgal1, so behind on your updates.... first, thankful that you were not seriously hurt in your fall and that you were not holding LO.

Do hope that the injection does the job. Have a good visit with your folks. ::flower3:

Happy Friday RCers,

Waving hi to MM, Koh, Miss, Jen, Janet, Magic, Iheart, Sheila, Lacey, Marie and the rest of the gang! Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
And to those that continue to battle the endless winter...spring is coming...spring is coming...spring is coming....:dance3::dance3::dance3:

Hi G!! :wave2:

I almost forgot to mention our fall plans. I went ahead and booked BWI since F&W is a week earlier this year. That way I could make sure to get the mil discount. If renew the offer it again for after late Sept, we'll change to late Oct.
I have this plan in the works, I want to get AP's this year. If we do, we'll use them this year in late Oct, and then in early Oct in 2015. It's always fun to plan WDW trips!:dance3:

Fantastic plans!! Congrats on the AP plans. :thumbsup2 It does planning future trips much easier... perhaps a F&G one too? :goodvibes

Oh, I'll have to check out the link later. :)

-------------------------------------------------------
Off for some food and then up to school to assist Sam's indoor percussion group with getting ready for their first competition tomorrow. Should be fun. She is on the cymbals!.

TTYL!!

I couldn't agree more.

Good evenin ladies....hope you all are headed for a relaxing weekend. Jeanette please say you had a nap!! :worried: You work too hard.

Dinmgal: Ugh I do not like the sounds of injections. Hoping for as painless as procedure as can be for you.

Linda: We have never tried Saana but now I am curious!:scratchin

Ginny: HOORAY for your AP plans! So exciting!

Again, so excited for your everyone's meet up in August! It sounds fab! :thumbsup2

have a good weekend everyone...many hugs sent

Jen

Thanks for the encouraging words on being able to find something lower than L/PV at BC/YC. I would just love to stay in the Epcot area since the new focus of the trip is F&W.

Well I'm off to baby my sick DH, which we all know is worse than having all your kids sick at once. I feel bad for getting him sick. I think this is the first time since he had his lap band that he has actually thrown up, which I didn't think he was able to do.

pas130 and Gwynne: Happy to hear both your new WDW plans. Two of my fave resorts. :)

Well, I am flying off to NJ Saturday to say goodbye to Uncle. He called dad and said it's time to come. He put up a good fight but now is time for him to be with Aunt in heaven. Be home Tuesday. Sad sad sad. :sad1: ..... PS: My ticker is off now. We leave Thursday for WDW.

Happy Saturday to everyone!!!

I have created monsters people.....MONSTERS!!!! :faint:

That is my random Friday thought.

:rotfl: We have several of those running around our house, too;)

Friday ugh...I am the weekend warrior...I really dislike Friday..LOL. except the fabulous babyberger crew is going to POR!!!!

:goodvibes You are the ultimate weekend warrior!!!!

Quick poll: What are your three MUST DO restaurants at Disney? Also, what is your favorite non-park restaurant?

We are trying to branch out and try new things so I love to see what people say!

:scratchin That's a difficult one.... there are just so many....and kind of subjective.

Since we love TS restaurants in the park (gives us a chance to cool off and relax) we usually do Tony's at MK, Yak and Yeti at AKL...always a toss up at EP. 50s Prime Time at DHS - while the food is just ok to good, we love the crazy atmosphere and the way the wait staff plays out their 50s role.

Non-park restaurants....Definitely Saana for lunch. Get there early and ask for a table by the window. The wait staff was excellent and super friendly!!!!

Also Ohana....the last time we were their the service was just ok but the food was WAY good!!! Love their dessert!

Ok...that's my two-cents

I agree .... hands down our favorite is Saana!

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We're trying the Dessert Party, too, in June. We've done the Fantasmic dining package and it was fine....just don't like having such an early ADR for dinner. Mama Melrose was great on our first round...not so good the second time. We liked Crystal Palace for breakfast simply because we could get in the park before it opened and of course the kids liked the characters.

:wave2: to Janet, wookie, Magic, Jenn, and all the RCs!!

House is super quiet this morning!!! Hubby and daughter are fishing over at Hilton Head and boys are still sleeping.....peaceful....the sun is shining and supposed to be around 70 today.

Enjoy the weekend!
Heather

Tossing around the idea of 4th of July at Disney instead of the following week...? We'd have to fly in the morning of the 4th though, which is a Friday. We'd be leaving the following Wednesday...any chance of even seeing the fireworks somewhere that night? Worth it? What about the crowds?

Anybody who's gone during the 4th holiday have any insight?

In other news, I've detangled, washed, cut, and combed out 3 princess dolls' hair so far...3 more to go! Plus Boo from monsters inc. lol.

WOOHOO for the AP train! I'm already plotting a Flower/Garden sneak trip after DH leaves to train and before we move!!! (those trips seem to sneak in with an AP, right???)

Still playing with ADRs...

Thoughts on the Fantasmic dining pkg - worth it?

We had same issue and decided against F! package since Sept is often slow and there's no telling if LO will be able to hang for the night so I'd rather feel less 'ties' to F! one specific evening. I have heard great things about the package, though.

wookie - I maintain DH is my third child and by far the hardest to deal with at times... esp when ill. :drinking: hope you have some wine for his whine!!!

Magic - so sorry to hear about your loss. Thoughts and prayers with you and your family.

Anybody who's gone during the 4th holiday have any insight?

Was not there over 4th but stayed Jun 24-30 and def noticed an upswing in crowds starting around the 28th. By the time we left on the 30th, the YC lobby went from a few people milling around to very crowded and SAB was swamped midday. We didn't do parks on the 30 but there was a wait at the boat launch for HS which was the first time we had seen that. Still, we found the RD/late EMH were magic for us the week before 4th of July so I think it's still doable. In fact, the night of the 29th we did PM EMH at MK and from the second MSEP to close the group rode Space 2x, Splash 2x, BTMR, Buzz, IASW, Dumbo, and HM. We could've done more but had fun doing Photopass pics with the castle at night and just empty park watching.

Appreciate the amazing support for my injection - beyond optimistic this will mean more mobility and less drama/pain. DD wants me to ride roller coasters at Busch Gardens in May!

Thanks for all the awesome restaurant recs! Based solely on majority DH and I are going to shoot for Sanaa at some point - I'm actually thinking Dec trip when we have lots of daytime to fill (figure early and late hours will rule that trip so great time to hit some resort restaurants midday). 50's is on my list for the silly factor and I have been told I HAVE to get a shake there. :-) I'm thinking Ohana would be a good group ADR -- "Ohana means family!!!"

*HUGS* to all and have a great weekend!
