Just touching base to vent: Dec trip is turning into major hassle! Will post details later but becoming so stressed out I don`t even want to go anymore. :-(

Love the RC changes (mm, you crack me up) and love some of the F&W plans coming along

We are so excited to go back.

Heather Long story short....the ticket price increase today left me pouting...this led DH to inquire about actual trip costs....he never does that....

Well, although he knew total costs of our trips, I think seeing the breakdowns in black and white really hit home. Especially when he started pricing out value resorts, etc...and realizing how much cheaper we could do Disney. Soooooo,we narrowed down our options by cost, and everyone voted unanimously to go back to WL.

DH also decided that he wants AOA to bookend our Disney cruise next year. He said that he loves our annual trips but says that we have to be smarter about the costs, which I totally understand.

So we return to WL, and we couldn't be happier about it!!!

Makes perfect sense!! Flight cost can be a bummer for sure. There's 5 of us, so I can't imagine how much extra we would have to pay if we had to fly. At least you get awesome military discounts!!! We tried to do AoA this past Christmas but no availability. Still want to give it a try at some point. I think your plan sounds fabulous, and I would totally be happy with it if it was me .... not that you need my approval or anything Too bad we aren't going at the same time. So did the change mess up any of your ADRs??

I'm impatiently waiting for the late summer discounts (July) to come out now...I'm guessing I have another month though unfortunately... :-/

In my mind, I think I've already switched from GF to POR to add a night and be able to hit AK and end the trip with MK and the dessert party. Now the decision is 7/4-7/9 or 7/11-7/16. It will be hot and crowded no matter what. The 4th of July fireworks would be awesome to see I think. Would plan on AK once we got in for a few hours, then straight to CR or GF for dinner. (Tentatively I snagged an ADR for Chef Mickey's for that night.) would watch the MK fireworks from one of those 2 resorts then.

Now I just need to make sure a similar schedule works for the 4th of July trip dates just in case. Otherwise it's a moot point!

We had YC SV last Aug. Walked into 1st room & hated view of garbage dump/service area. So went back down to desk & politely asked if there was another room. They gave us a room over portico looking out over front of resort. Good people watching! Had a huge balcony shared with 4 rooms, but we were usually the only ones sitting out there. We were on end of balcony. I think Dee has pics posted of our room & balcony that I sent her.

Awww, thanks Glad you see it that way - sometimes I wonder if I'm just out of left field.
I can't believe the discussion is still going! At first I thought "man, this guy is picky" but after seeing the posts about his first trip and some of the stuff in between it reminds me of the customers I had in my 10 years in retail who found ANYTHING to complain about to get a discount. What makes it even worse is he had legitimate issues but seemed to fixate on the irrelevant! I am glad he finally got his knob, though. <-- not at YC!!!


Quick poll: What are your three MUST DO restaurants at Disney? Also, what is your favorite non-park restaurant?

We are trying to branch out and try new things so I love to see what people say!

My fav TS are Boma, Kona, Saana, Ohana, Sci Fi, 50s! Guess that's more then 3. Lol.
Off site there's a Bahama Breeze close to DTD. I'm not too familiar with Orlando restaurants, but also like Ale House. We usually hit the one in Coral Springs near my moms.

That's one crazy post. I think that person is out in left field. The things he fixated on were stupid!! The whole thing was strange. Has he ever come back? Troll?

I've been blessed this far...less than 5 hours to go on my 48h in 3 day stretch and all my homework is up to date

I am SO excited!! Tomorrow is ADR day and I can't wait...did I mention I can't wait!!

Pas, so happy you are home from the work weekend. Sad we can't meet tomorrow we'll just have to come up with another date.

Kor, July is busy, but would think the 4th time frame would be more crowded. Have you compared the airfare for both weeks?

Sue, I remember when you mentioned about the room. Hopefully we won't get your same first GD (garbage dump) SV room. I'll be sure to speak up if we do. So if you do not RC before August (to YC of course ), shall we meet up at O'hanas?

Nope. All of our ADR's are staying the same.

Janet - we're using award travel miles and they have the same flights available on the 4th and the 9th. . easy WDW lists the same crowds all days except the 4th, but since we wouldn't be AT any park except AK, it might be ok?

Janet just finished ADRs ugh. Stupid MDE not working, after 2 days trying had to phone dining line! And they couldn't get the ADRs on MDE so had to phone tec support took hours to accomplish a simple thing. You'd think they'd have the glitches ironed out by now!!!
And also my friend who I meet up with in wdw who is on my family/friends for planning sometimes shows up, sometimes her icon is blank! Grrr. That web site is so fustrating!

Not sure about Ohanas! But Capt Cooks, or ? What day do you have Ohanas on?
I plan on lots of CS meals, they have been getting pretty good.

I've done some preliminary ADRs: not doing TS every day. We arrive 8/20 & I don't have any ADRs booked till 8/24 when friend arrives so I'm pretty open on 8/21 & 8/22.

8/24 SciFi lunch
8/25 Beaches & Cream lunch @ 12:30. Are you at YC? This may be a possibility?
8/27 Liberty Tree dinner
8/28 BB day, dinner at AMC DTD
8/30 BOG dinner

No worries. I'm just sad about us having to keep Justin Bieber now.

I've just been obsessed with figuring out a costume for MNSSHP. I know it'll be hot, but once I paint the Stormtrooper armor pink, I'm going to attach it to either black, or heather grey, thermal PJs. I know it'll be on the warm side, but it's close to fitting like the material I am cutting the armor off of. I just don't know if I should get black, which is what the the current costume has, or use the heather grey. I don't know if the grey will make it any cooler. Also, the helmet is a full helmet. The DH thinks I should attach a tiara to it after I paint it pink, but do y'all think it will be too hot in September to wear a full helmet?

Wow! You are very talented! Sounds like an awesome costume! Maybe you could poke lots of vent holes in the helmet?
