was Liberty Tree Tavern. We had a 4:00 PS before the MNNSHP....we did not care for the food. They served ham, turkey ,roastbeef , green beans, sweet potatoes, dressing and biscuits. The ham was good, but they didn't give but 2 tiny slices to feed 5 of us-so needless to say we immediately asked for more & it took about 10 min to get any! The dressing was too salty to eat as was the turkey(but I ate it anyway!) the green beans no one touched (they were those forever long ones that look so fake! :rotfl: the might have been good but we were afraid to try for fear of them being hard!) Dh ate the sweet pot. & I think they were ok-nothing special-biscuits were the best part of the whole meal!
The dessert was something we did not like the sound of so we all go the kids dirt with worms! It was ok...

SO needless to say this is one ps we will skip next time & will not be recommending it to anyone---certainly not anyone that's gonna pay out of pocket (we were on the dining plan- thank goodness!)

I agree, it was our least favorite too. We thought it was a big rip-off, the food was horrible. Some people love it, but just not our cup of tea. Characters were fine, readily available. We much preferred Crystal Palace for character dining.

Funny that you say this. I keep reading rave reviews of the restaurant, but this is one meal that my Sis in law has asked that we avoid. She really thought that the food was terrible. This is the only request that she has made for the entire trip!

We have never been interested in eating there, but did make a ressie for our upcoming trip with the Grandchildren. I think they would like the characters, but I am not remotely excited about the food. If we wind up cancelling this one, I wouldn't be sad about it, the reviews haven't been great.

For us, we were so glad we went there, this last trip. We had never been and while I don't think it's awful, we wouldn't go back. We had the free dining so that helped. We would go back if we had free dining again, but not worth it to us to go back to and pay. The food was good, not great, not awful...in our opinion.

LTT has never apealed to me, I can cook all thos things at home and enjoy it. I like to experience different things that I maybe not have at home or to laxy to cook. As far as the characters go, I don't require them, I wish I had a little one that did. well at least you tried it once and know not to go back, I think we have all been through this experience with restutants everywhere we go. :)

Too bad you didn't enjoy the meal. This is one of our favorites. Nothing fancy, just good old home cooking. We don't have the most sophisticated taste when it comes to food...so our opinion may be slightly biased but we enjoy this TS. Great location, good character interaction, neat restaurant, and decent food.

Count me as a fan of LLT! We ate there last February at about 4:00pm in the afternoon. Walked right in with little or no wait. We thought the food was really good for Disney food. Large family style portions of Thanksgiving type food. We would definately go back. The characters came around twice and were very fun. Sorry to hear that others aren't as fond of it as we were.

Did they get rid of the regular mashed potatoes? Allearsnet still has them listed but I seem to be reading about sweet potatoes and allearsnet doesn't say anything about sweet potatoes. My son wouldn't mind - he loves sweet potatoes - but it may be harder to convince DH!

Our family is like puffkin's family :flower: - and LTT was one of our favorites, and it's on our list for when we return next year.

Also wondering about the sweet potato part...
The mashed potatoes & gravy were a favorite.

Curious about dessert too - are kid's always offered a special dessert? Ours wasn't, but she would have chosen the cobbler anyway.

Character interaction was amazing at LTT -- food was just okay. Crystal Palace -- loved the food (salad bar) character interaction was terrible! CMs kept pulling the characters away at CP before they could even make their rounds.

and was considering replacing Kona's with LTT. My DD loves ham & turkey and Thanksgiving dinner is big with all of us. Not really looking for a character meal but I thought the menu looked good.
Yes? No? Maybe so?

Pooch

we eat there every year and have never found a reason to complain. for the most part i have found that the ones who dont like it dont seem to like "family style" servings and prefer a menu style or buffet. i myself dont like buffet style, i always feel like im at a bonanza of ponderosa.

I'm another one concerned about hearing sweet potatoes. We always loved LTT's mashed potatoes and gravy. Also, it may just be a wording difference but please don't tell me they're not serving the Sally Lunn rolls anymore. I live in the South and to us there's a big difference between a true biscuit and rolls. Anyone?

My family and I ate at LTT on Christmas Day a few years ago and we enjoyed it. But honestly, it was because we got to "open the restaurant" which was pretty fun for our DD. The food was okay, but just okay. We probably won't go back, but at least we can say that we did it once. Plus, we have the certificate they gave us...somewhere... :confused3

On 10/1 we had rolls. :flower: And they were very good.

But we also had mashed potatoes, so if they have switched to sweet potato, they may have switched to biscuits too.

We ate at the LTT on 9/30 just before MNSSHP too, we had a 6:30 time. It had the worst food out of all the places we ate at in the 8 days there. The green beans wasn't cooked, the Stove Top stuffing was dry, as well as the ham, the mac n' cheese was cooked in the microwave! I'm glad we were on the "free dinning plan". I wouldn't want to pay for that food. Our waitess didn't ask us for anything but "what would you like to drink" or "are you ready to leave" . We did like the cherry/ice cream!
We will not visit it again:( Disney has so much to choose from which is great!

DH and I also don't care for the food at LTT. But it generally gets rave reviews on the DISboards.
