Sending prayers to your sister today for the surgery!

Thoughts and prayers coming Carol's way for surgery today. I hope everything goes smoothly for her:goodvibes :flower3:

Mom called about an hour ago. Carol made it through surgery fine. The head surgeon (there was a team of them) was "pleased" with the way things went. He refused to discuss her prognosis at all, but said they would reevaluate things after her recovery and chemo. This cancer is so rare, they really don't know what will happen. I'm still praying for that miracle.

Thank you to everyone for all of your kind words, thoughts, and prayers. They really mean more to me than I can possibly say.

I'll be back with more updates, on both the trip report and on how Carol is doing, when I can.

I'll join the "cancer sucks" club.

I'm so glad to read that the surgery went well. Hopefully you'll get encouraging news when the surgeon and oncologists talk to your family.

So happy to hear Carol's surgery went smoothly! Hopeful for a speedy recovery and better days ahead!

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family on this cancer journey. I know all too well the effects of cancer on a family. :grouphug:

Tricia
I am so glad Carol did great today. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. If you need anything please let me know. Tell Carol we have added her to our treatment prayer chart.

Glad to hear that the surgery went well and I hope she has a quick recovery from the surgery and deals well with the chemotherapy.

I checked in with Carol this morning. She is awake and hurting, but said that she is okay. Her words were, "It feels like a somebody cut a big hunk out of me. Which they did. So I guess that is normal."

Her surgeon was in to see her and said that if she does okay today, he'll probably release her tomorrow.

Now, where was I in the trip report. Oh, yeah, we were hopping to MGM.

Okay, okay. It's Disney Hollywood Studios now. It took me years to stop saying EPCOT Center, so forgive me if I can't drop the MGM right away.

We headed straight for the brand-new-so-everybody-wants-to-ride-it Toy Story Midway Mania.

Yes, the wait time is listed as 80 minutes. So what. It's new and Carol wants to ride it. I snapped a million pictures, so if you don't want spoilers about what to expect in the que line, scroll through the rest of the post quickly.

Across the street from the Toy Story ride is a character greeting area.

When you first cross into the building to wait in line, it becomes obvious that you are supposed to be a toy in Andy's room.

We waited and moved through the line.

And we finally approached the area with Mr. Potato Head, who moves, talks, sings, and tells jokes.

2day36.jpg

It's funny because sometimes, Mr. Potato Head is actually talking to the people in line. He talks to people that are standing in the area of the que line directly in front of him. Not everyone catches on to the fact that he is talking to them, but when they do it is really funny.

After we passed Mr. Potato Head, there is the area to pick up the 3-D glasses. Then we finally made it to the loading area.

The signs didn't lie. It took us about an hour and a half from the time we got in line until the time we got on the ride. There was lots of cool stuff to look at while we were waiting, so I'm not complaining. Much. ;)

It was a great ride. Totally worth the wait. Even Joshua got off the ride asking if we could do it again... and that was a loooong wait for a 6 year old. I told him we would try to come back and do it again, but right then we had to head to the restaurant to make our ADRs.
