Our last Magic Kingdom Day
Today we actually woke up earlier than we did the day before so after buying yet another ridiculously priced breakfast we set off for the Magic Kingdom.
Once again the mass hysteria also known as Magic Kingdom was upon us and once again we feared for our legs and feet with out of control stroller and jazzy drivers and people with the me first mentality.
We rode a few rides, ate some lunch and around 2 we decided we had had enough and were going to go back to the hotel to get a swim in before we left the hotel.
It had started out hot and sticky *another note always remember to bring your sunscreen with you since if you forget it and have to buy it at Disney it is yet the price of a small country* and then it got cloudy.
It started getting really dark and gloomy as we were trying to fight our way out of the Magic Kingdom just before the start of one of the parades (*again not another good idea*) and just as we walked out the exit it started to sprinkle and thunder and lightning.
About half way between the Exit and the Bus Depot the sky opened up and we had to run and take cover. It was pouring rain and thankfully we made it to the cover of the bus depot before the really hard rain came.
We waited for a bus while watching totally unprepared people (not unlike ourselves) running for cover.
Got back to the hotel where the rain became a light sprinkle and got some lunch and then went to our hotel room.
We had decided to get everything packed up and ready to go for the next day and then if it stopped raining to go for our swim.
Thankfully the storm gods took pity on us and we were able to take the kids for a swim at Old Man Island.
Swam for a few hours and then went to rest in the room.
At 6 we decided to take the Ferry Boat over to Downtown Disney and so we started the 2 mile trek also known as the walk to the ferry platform. We got to the dock just as the ferry pulled in *what great timing we have* and the girl driving the ferry announced that ferry service was suspended to Downtown Disney due to thunder and lightning.
We were deflated so we went to the Arcade and spent another small fortune just for the kids to have something to do.
Walked back to the room to watch some TV again and wait for the time we were to do a Dis-board Unofficial meet at the pool bar with some people.
At about 8 the kids were getting hungry and bouncing off the walls so we went yet again to the food court to feed them.
While walking over to the food court it was sprinkling a little bit but nothing bad. Thankfully we were smart enough to bring our rain ponchos with us because at some point we must have infuriated the rain gods again and by the time we were sitting down to eat some dinner the heavens unloaded and it was torrential rain with thunder and lightning!
At 9 we braved the elements in our wonderful and stylish bright canary yellow, Mickey screened rain attire to go to the meet at the now closed Pool Bar and in the process ended up soaking ourselves, shoes, shorts and anything else we were wearing.
We met up with 2 women from Germany but no one else showed so we called it and went to bed dreaming of not having to buy another overpriced Disney meal and our ship which would be waiting for us in the morning.
We set a wakeup call at 8 am so we could finish packing, get bell service (its nice when they are working), get a small breakfast and to our Limo by 10.
