~Our June '09 adventure~ I'm home! Started TR 7/2

I loooooove the monorail! My favorite memories are riding around on an emprty monorail these past few trips to check out all the resorts. It's so much fun, and just hearing "Please stand clear of the doors" puts me in a good mood!

The monorail.....a prized possesion in my home. Baby DS can't get enough of the monorail!

They're building a sub station near our house and the baby thinks it's a monorail! :rotfl2:

I love watching the little monorail go around it's track outside the giftshops at the Contemporary. Aw poor baby DS- he'll be so disappointed when he realizes it's not a monorail.

Maelstrom

This I haven;t done yet! But as you read in my "NEW-trys" post you know I am planning on doing it for sure. Thanks to you I found out about it! :thumbsup2
I might have to use the fastpass.. cause idk when I'll get to it.. there is so much I love at Epcot.

Love the Maelstrom. When we first went on it, the part where it looks like you're going to go down the drop backwards got me lol! I thought we were going to lol.

Maelstrom.

Biff was so mad at me because I did not tell him one key element about it. I heard about it for at least an hour.

My cousin has the monorail. He probably broke it by now.

I'm so awesome. But seriously, Maelstrom usually has like a 10 minute wait so there's no need for fast passes!

I freaked out the first time we went backwards!

Attraction of the Day...

WaterMice

Okay, we call them the Mouse Boats. While staying at the GF, Poly, Contemporary, and WL we always spent one day doing the Mouse Boats and hanging out by the pool. I remember way back when I was younger and we were staying at the GF. Mom and Sis were in one Mouse Boat and Dad and I were in the other. We're out in the middle of the Seven Seas Lagoon and all of a sudden Dad and I's boat stops! Dad tries to get it running again, but it just wouldn't. I was younger then, so I started freaking out. I thought we were going to be stuck out there forever. So, we waited and waited for one of the life guard people to drive by...FINALLY we got one's attention and they pulled us back to the GF dock. Okay, that doesn't sound as scary as it was to me at the time!

We've never hired a Water Mouse, but we have hired the big ones a couple of times (Suntrackers I think) and they are always a lot of fun. We do it on our first day at Disney and its a great way to start the holiday. In 2006 we spent thousands on a month long dream trip (it was just after Nick and I graduated, my 21st and my little sisters and Dad's birthdays too), only to get to our first resort after 12 hours of traveling to find our TA had cancelled it. It was POR and they had no rooms left, we were absolutely gutted and even worse our TA said they could do nothing about it. Anyway the next day (after Disney got us into POFQ) we went to the welcome meeting at DTD and the TA's again did nothing, we were so upset and angry. So we walked through DTD and decided to get a boat out for an hour. Within minutes all our cares and worries and frustration were gone and we were just enjoying sailing along in the sun seeing the beautiful resorts and relaxing. It was such a great start after such a bad start.

Never done the Water Mice but I think they would be fun!

We've only done the water mice once, back in 2003. It was back when they had the "silver" and "gold" packages. We got the gold package so there was free unlimited recreation and we were staying at POR so we took them down the river a number of times to DTD. They really are so much fun! I would love to take them out on the 7 seas lagoon though, but it seems like we are ALWAYS running short on time every time we are at Disney and we never get around to it!

I think I am to fat for them. :sad1:

Oh Scott! You are not!

Oh my gosh, so sorry you had a bad start!

They have great views on them don't they?! :)

I wish that was the last of it but it seemed to be one thing after another on that holiday. By the time we got to Miami I had had enough and when the hotel let us down I went mad, my Mum was so shocked but it seemed to make someone take notice and get it sorted. However, we are lucky to be one of these families who make the most of everything and despite some minor and major glitches we had the most amazing time.

Maelstrom is a wicked cool ride! I like the part when the boat goes backwards the best. And the polar bears...awwww. So cute. Water Mice. I've yet to do that. We rented a pontoon once and that was cool! Might do the mice this time. They look like fun. I have the cutest picture of those things that I took from our Poly balcony. It's one of the service boats bringing in a bunch of them for the day.

Yeah.. so maybe I'm not sure an expert.. I don't even know what this is.. from the posts I'm catching on.. but I'm surprised. hmm.

Aww you poor thing. I would have freaked too lol!

Okay, my first ever ride at Disney, in my opinion, was the Monorail. I'm sure my second was the Jungle Cruise, but the monorail completely is a memorable first ride. Which reminds me. I have to do the monorail first when we get to Disney. Gillian has never been, and although we aren't going to Magic Kingdom, the best thing for us to do is go to Epcot, ride the monorail to the TTC, then around to look at the monorail resorts, and then go to Hollywood Studios. . .

Maelstrom is cool! Or at least it is in my opinion. It scared the bajeebies out of our friend's daughter, but I loved it. . .it's a lot like Pirates of the Caribbean to me.

I love love love the monorail!

Maelstrom is so cheezy but I just have to ride it every time!

I've never done the mouseboats before. I would be so afraid of getting stuck out there like you did. Sounds more nerve wracking than fun for me.

Hope you had a good weekend!

You should try the mouse boats for sure!

Haha, yeah! Glad I'm not the only one who freaks. :)

Maelstrom is cheesy! Have you ever stayed for the movie at the end? I haven't. Haha.
