~Our June '09 adventure~ I'm home! Started TR 7/2

So far behind again. Ack!

Attraction of the Day...

Innoventions

We've only been through this once and it was awhile ago so I don't remember much about it!

I've done this a few times at Disneyland. Once when I was there with my best friend, her mom, and my mom @ Christmas (for Girl Scouts), we went onto Innoventions (it's a building like Carosel of Progress in the fact that the outside spins). When you first enter, they have these examples of different technology that change out. When we went, they were showing off these different fitness games (think Wii) with bikes and they needed participants for the game. Both me and her got chosen and raced one another. I won by a few seconds. ;) Our moms got pictures, but I don't know what happened to any of them from that trip.

Oh cool! That sounds like so much fun!

Speaking of Wii...I've been reading a thread about Wii fit..Evidently it's not very nice! :rotfl:

We pop in through Innoventions every time just to see whats up lol.

We did the Segway thing in there before. Of course I was the one and only person to run over a cone LOL! All I had to do was go around it. Nope I just ran it over.

We did Storm Struck too in October. It's something to do when you have time and nothing else to do.

Easter was fun specially because my niece turned 1 on 4/09 it was a blast.

LoL. See, I just don't think I'm too coordinated for the Segway.

Aw, I bet it was! :goodvibes

Attraction of the Day...

Journey into Narnia

Okay, what the heck is this and where exactly is this at DHS?

I've never done it but every single review I've read said it's a waste of time. I remember seeing it but don't remember where it actually was now, but supposedly you wait on a long line to eventually watch a trailer of the movie and then see some of the characters. I don't think we'll be doing this one!

Ew boring!

Innoventions is one of John's favorite places since he is an engineer. Brooklynn got to make her own piece of paper there last summer which was pretty neat.Between the two of them I think we could really spend some significant time in there since there is so much hands on stuff available.

Mom, Brooklynn, and I did Narnia on one of our girls' trips. It was before Prince Caspian was released. We walked into the wardrobe into Narnia and then watched a trailer for the film. The White Witch came out and said something and then you walk out into an area kind of like when you get off backlot tour with props from the movies. It was something we hadn't done before so we wanted to see what it was all about.

I remember a LONG time ago there was a karaoke thing in Innoventions that I loved! I'm not sure I'd do it now, even if they still had it. haha

There was also this one video game thing where I think 4 people could play at a time and you could either be Mickey, Minnie, Donald, or Goofy. I remember my sisters did it a couple of times and they had a blast.

Hi Jill! Hope all is well at your house with Bella and Brookie. :cutie:

My B/F liked Innoventions from what I remember for the same reason (he's majoring in engineering)! Oh man, Brookie made her own piece of paper?! That sounds so cool. I think we will be exploring this place this trip.

So Narnia was pretty boring?

Okay, between your response and Jill's response- I can't wait to try Innoventions again!

I haven't done Innoventions OR the Narnia attraction.:scared: We might check out Innoventions in May, but I'm not a huge fan on the Narnia films so Journey into Narnia doesn't really appeal to me.

How was your Easter?

No Innoventions or Narnia. Actually my parents probably made me do Innoventions when I was little. You know it's funny, my dad used to plan Disney vacations for us when we were little and get really into it. He'd make sure we'd go on all the rides and was really on his game with Fastpasses and ADR's (welllll he made the concierge people do those, lol!). Now he hates going there at all!!

Sorry I have been MIA lately, school is taking over my life and I hate it! Don't they know I have PTR's to read?! Jeez!

I don't know what it is..... But I know it is right next to TSM. If you are getting a FP for TSM it is on the right.

I'm definately checking out Innoventions again. I've only seen the first Narnia film..it was pretty good, but the attraction at DHS sounds BORING.

Oooh, Easter was good. B/F's 21 birthday was Saturday night, so me and him both had hangovers. :rotfl: But, the little guy loved running around our backyard looking for eggs. I had to kinda help him find them though. He didn't want to look.

Hey girl! I completely understand about school. Just promise you will keep coming back and not leave me hanging! :)

Oh my gosh, what made your dad change to hate going there?

That sat. must have been everyone's b-day. A girl I go to school with turned 21 that day too and my friend I haven't seen in like 6 months came in to visit so we all went out too. And I have to say I'm in the same boat with you with the hangovers. ;) But other than that it was good. I would have loved to see the little guy rolling around your backyard. That must have been the cutest thing.

We did the Narnia thing in December and I was actually kind of disappointed in it. I don't know what I was expecting but it was not what I thought it was (if that makes any sense :confused3). And I'm mad because we just missed the Dream Team there too, haha!

Here's the papermaking station.

It was very quick and kind of cool. Older kids would probably enjoy it more than Brooklynn did, since she didn't really know what she was doing.

There's not much to Narnia, but I like to do everything and experience it for myself at least once. There was a film trailer, an actor (White Witch) who said a few lines, and then you walked through the props area. I can't say that I'll put it on my to-do list again for a while, but I am glad I did it. We haven't gone to the Prince Caspian one, so we should probably do that one, too, just to say we give everything Disney related a chance.

I'm glad to see Jill found her way over here.
I'm glad she is having some down time at home to be able to enjoy Dising. :goodvibes

Oh that had to have been so much fun! Too bad we couldn't have gotten together and had a double b-day party! lol.

Aw, thanks for the pic. It looks like a lot of fun.

Yeah...I don't know if I'm going to try Narnia or not.

I'm glad Jill made it over too. I don't know what I'd do without you guys!

Attraction of the Day...

The Monorail

Okay, I know this isn't exactly an attraction, but I love it! OMG, this memory is again back from our 2001 Christmas trip with the whole family! It's first thing in the morning and we were staying at the Contemporary, so we hopped on the monorail to switch monorails at the TTC to go to Epcot. Yes, I know we could've taken the bus, but we wanted to show the grandparents the scenery on the monorail as we headed to Epcot. So..we're leaving the Contemporary, heading around that little curve where you can see WL hiding behind the trees to your left and the Seven Seas Lagoon to your right..and the monorail starts to slow down..and the comes to a complete stop! Now for those of you who know me and my mom, we're claustrophobics so this didn't sit well with us. They come over the loud speakers to tell us that they're doing their "morning routine and tests". Ugh. So there we are, just sitting there. One other family in our section with us. Of course, what do Uncle and Sis start doing to scare me and mom?! They start jumping and trying to shake the car. Of course the other family is laughing because they see us freaking out. Finally, the monorail started moving again. About 5 seconds! We had to stop again. :headache: This time, we started moving backwards SLOWLY and then forward SLOWLY. Finally, we made it to the TTC and it was the happiest I had ever been to touch the ground. This is one story I still hear my grandparents talking about when we talk about the trip.
