~Our June '09 adventure~ I'm home! Started TR 7/2

Is it sad that I have only done Kilimanjaro Safari one time? I mean, I've been at least twice since the first time I did it, and we didn't do it either time. It was one of those that my parents always say, we've done it once. Well, we are definitely going to do it in December, and then I can have a memory of it. Or, a new memory of it. It was so long ago that I don't remember the first time I rode it. I think I was a freshman in high school last time I rode it.

Safari It'd have to be this past visit when the Giraffe came right into our truck. That was very exciting!

Maelstrom This ride is just cool. No special memories though.

One Man's DreamThis I LOVE! It's one of my favorite things in all of WDW. I love seing the retro toys, movie clips....all of that. The saddest thing of all is the sign and story about how Walt never said goodbye to anyone. And on his way out he said goodbye to a friend of his and died shortly after. Tears me up every time! I missed this last time and I can't wait to get back.

The Safari ride was DSs very first ride in WDW! He just had to get into the park to see the naked mole rats! He was most excited for those. So we ran over to KS after rope drop and got fast passes. We walked the walk first and then rode the ride. I just remember feeling so happy, sitting there on our first ride of our trip, it was like, finally, vacation had started.

Aw..don't you just love that feeling?!

Aw, I love "One Man's Dream"!!!

I admit, the first time we did this, I cried. Bawled like a little baby in the middle of Disney World. It was right around the time that I decided I wanted to be a writer, and it just touched me to my core to see what Walt had been able to do with his life, how his stories had touched so many in such a profound way. I wanted to touch people's hearts the same way that Walt had touched mine. And thus, Walt's dream became my own. It's been a couple trips now since we've been over to see OMD so I'm putting it on our Must Do list for this trip.

I love the part with the music too! My main memory of Kilomanjaro was when this rhino came and stood in the path of our truck! We had to wait five minutes for him to move! Our driver kept making all these funny cracks about pedestrians having the right of way and stuff.

I love the savannah part of KS too! Especially the music. Last time we rode, we had the BEST CM. She was so knowledgeable and happy and seemed truly happy to be showing us around. Joking and laughing with the whole vehicle... I wish I had gotten her name so we could send in a compliment. I also really liked that she didn't spend too much time on the "story line" of the poachers.

Attraction of the Day...

The Jungle Cruise

It was evening EMH's one night and it was almost 1:30 a.m. and we were getting delirious (did I spell that right?). We decided to stop over and ride the Jungle Cruise before heading back to WL. We practically walked right on and there was maybe two or three other families with us. Right as we left the dock, the skipper was asking all of us where we're from and if there was anybody visiting from overseas. One family said they were from England...and then the lady with the family next to them raises her hand and says "We're from Canada!" I didn't know that was overseas. So that had us laughing...even the skipper. Then, as he said all of us jokes, we thought they were hilarious and were laughing so hard. The skipper asks us, "Is this your first time on the Jungle Cruise?" And we laughed and said "NO!" We were just in a good mood that night.

The Jungle Cruise! I love the Jungle Cruise. I am pretty sure I have all of their jokes memorized. My memory is from this past time that we went. Our boat was not very crowded, and my parents and I were sitting right near the front by the CM. So of course, as soon as we take off, he asks where everyone is from. And my family and I say Texas. He looks at us and is like, "I'm sorry," and my father, not remembering this joke repeats "Texas." And the CM of course says, "no, I heard you. I'm just sorry." Ha ha. And my favorite joke from the Jungle Cruise...."the backside of water!" Yes, I have the jokes memorized, and no, it doesn't at all take the fun out of the attraction.

I loved it.. i loved the song.. my mom loved it.. my dad well he pretended to love it.. I've never asked him if he did or not But my bro.. he definetly didn't like it.. after like the first minute of the ride he starting screamin and crying and saying he wanted to get off.. hehe At the time I wanted to punch him to make him stop and my mom is cracking up at him- because he wanted off.. he didn't like it- my mom was like singing.. my dad had to keep telling him that we were on a boat- he can't just jump off and swim to shore.. hehe it was funny.

Ok..soo what is this? I've read like 6 books on disney but for some reason this doesn't ring a bell. Is this a ride? If so, where is it and what is it about? I like how you don't just post comments on the popular attractions like "splash mountain" but do the others to.. it helps me recognize and introduce stuff I haven't done! So thank you! It makes me excited for stuff I didn't even think about. !!

Our first time going through this, we were in awe of everything in there! We stayed and watched the movie at the end, and it was so great! We still spend so much time looking through everything in there. It's a shame that so many people just walk on by this. So if you'd like to explain this more.. I would like to know more!

Attraction of the Day...

The Jungle Cruise

I remember the first time we ever rode it, we were sitting towards the back of the boat, and as we were heading for the tunnel, the CM started freaking out saying stuff about how no one had ever gone in and come back out. So just as we go into the dark he says, "I'm OUTTA here!!!!" and just like that, he disappeared!!!! The people in the front of the boat were giggling, but those of us in the back were actually like, "Dude, where'd he go????" Of course, he had just crouched down on the floor of the boat in front of the "crates," but he had done it so fast, it really looked like he had disappeared. When we left the tunnel he popped back up and was all, "I really had you guys in the back going, didn't I?" because he'd heard us whispering. It was too funny, and we all felt so stupid!

Yep it's a ride in Norway at Epcot. I guess it's about a Norweigian legend..And just to warn you-there's a movie at the end after you get off-but you can just walk on through if you don't want to watch it! I'm gla I taught you something new!

Oh my gosh, I about cried after "Meet the Robinsons" just because of that part when they quote Walt!

Okay for the attraction...it's alot like a museum type deal. You walk through basically Walt's life from the time he was born to his death. They even have some of his stuff in glass displays. There's also the models that were made for some of the parks and the Castles at all the different Disney parks. At the end, there's a movie that you can watch. I'd reccomend at least watching it once! I cried!

I have...in DL...so long ago that even I don't remember it so well. There are some things you think you will always remember... but 19 years of other events kinda fogs the memory.

It's just all part of what makes going to Disney special for me, rediscovering all the things I loved about it when I was younger, and seeing it all over again through the eyes of a child...I'm making myself sappy over here...

Awww I just love Jungle Cruise. Seriously, I find myself laughing out loud at all the corny jokes. It's such a purely fun ride... and we've never had a long wait for it either! It's so great to get a skipper who is really into the jokes. And I totally think the JC is best at night.
