Hi! I am having so much fun looking at all of the ideas here on the boards I thought I would start a PTR to (1) share ideas I have and (2) keep up with my thoughts, to-do list, etc. Sit back, grab a sweet iced tea, and enjoy reading about our journey to Disney!:welcome:

We will be driving to Disney on Nov. 9, 2012 and staying until Nov, 15, 2012. We are staying at the all new Art of Animation in a Little Mermaid room. This trip we will be celebrating the begining of the Christmas season and DD's third birthday (17th)!

Let me introduce you the the gang:

IMG_9415.jpg

Me~ I am Jennifer. I am a late 20's SAHM that is a little OCD and ADHD. I love to research any and everything. I enjoy planning parties, play dates, special days with DD, anything I can "theme"!

DH~ My husband of almost nine years, Josh. He is a hard working, outdoors loving, southern man that can do just about anything. We enjoy monthly date nights (themed of course ;)) together.

DD~ Our two year old miracle baby, Tempe. After 5 years of trying and doctors God blessed us with her. She loves Mickey, Dora, princesses, dance, gymnastics, cuddles, and chocolate milk.

Mom and Dad~ These are my parents. They love Disney just as much as us and will be joining us on this trip!

MIL and FIL~ These are the hubby's parents. They have not been to Disney in over 15 years so we are excited to show them around.

This will most likely be our only trip with both sets of parents joining us so I am working hard to make it as memorable as possible. DD may not remember it all but our parents will.

So, that is the gang. My next post I want to share some of what I have planned so far.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy following us and sharing in our ideas and tips.

I'm subscribing! I'm from the Nov board! We are staying at WL 11/24-12/1. It's my husband, my 2 y/o (3 in Jan) and me. Can't wait! We have a lot in common...I'm a researcher, planner and themer as well! Looking forward to your PTR and sharing ideas for a memorable trip. :goodvibes

Let's talk food! :goodvibes We have been lucky enough to get free dining for our trip. We will be doing the normal dining with one table service and one counter service a day. Our last trip part of our group had the Dlx Dining and left several meals. For us, this plan works well. I finally have all of our ressies booked after getting up at 6am on Mothers Day (the only day of the year to sleep in, go figure!). I haven't changed too much from my orginal plan. It took me a while to get our F! package and I am still worried about Chef Mickey's but it will all work out. This is when and where we will be enjoying our yummy's this trip:

Nov. 10: Crystal Palace at 8:05 am pre-rope drop! I am excited about this one! I can just picture us standing in front of the castle for a photo op.

Nov. 11: Mama Melrose at 1:15 pm for our F! package. DH loves F! and we were unable to watch it last trip because of rain so this was a must do.

Nov. 12: Chef Mickey at 5:05 pm before MVMCP. This one I am worried for two reasons. I wish we could do something a little earlier do to making MVMCP and the reviews aren't that great. With DD being so young we wanted to make sure that she would have the chance to meet all of the Fab Five at a slower pace. She may freak out a little at first so hopefully being in the middle of the trip and at a CD she can warm up to them.

Nov. 13: Coral Reef at 6:05 pm. We love Coral Reef! We decided to do alternate CD and what I call "adult" dining.

Nov. 12: Cinderella's Royal Table at 5:25 pm. To finish out our trip what a better night than a trip to the castle.

I am still trying to figure out a few options for CS. Our past trips we have just stopped and eat when we were hungry. Never again! After seeing all of the options I had no clue about I am going with a plan this time! Same with snacks. I can't tell you how many times we wasted a snack on a soda or small popcorn. What have I been missing!!!! I can't wait to try other things!

chef Mickey's isn't awful, but not a favorite of mine. But you can't go wrong with the characters. sometimes it is more about the atmosphere or characters than the food. :goodvibes Just show up early so you are one of the first families seated. show up at like 4:30 or 4:45 at the latest. You guys can enjoy watching the monorail pass overhead while you wait. if you are one of the first in, you can get out of there much faster. Plus you can walk to the MK after, it is a short easy walk. We own DVC at BLT, so we make the walk all the time- takes about 5-10 minutes, faster than the monorail with all of its stops. Just go out to the bottom floor, and ask a CM to point you to the walking path.

Thank you for all of the info!

I wanted to give an quick update! I hate that I haven't been able to post like I had wanted. My brother (33) went in for open heart surgery Wed and things went great. However, that night he had a stroke. It affected his whole left side. I have been at the hospital everyday but today. I had taken my Disney binder and laptop with me but would just sit and stare at the screen. He is slowly improving and I have decided to step back a little and take care of things I need to at home and not be up everyday. He has nurses, doctors, and his wife that are helping him. Disney planning has been hard because they have had to cancel their trip they were going on in Oct. Right now I am planning a quick 149 day celebration. It was going be 150 but that is today and I have nothing together!! I plan on having a Mickey lunch, watching the planning DVD , and giving T her own planning folder I am making. I have ideas for a few games but nothing together yet. Thanks again for everyone stopping by and please keep my brother and family in your thoughts and prayers.

We're here when you come back... your family are in our thoughts and prayers!:grouphug:

Prayers for your brother!

btw- what a beautiful family you have :goodvibes

Thank you!

Take your time! Keeping your brother in my thoughts and prayers!

Thank you everyone! A quick update on my brother...he is doing great. Out of ICU and into rehab! This means the worse is over and it can only get better from here. They are working him hard and we all have faith that he will be back to a normal life. We are so happy he is improving!

Now back to Disney! Before I share our Kickoff Lunch I have to share a funny with you. I am guessing I have the "Disney planning, info knowing, crazy lady" title now! We were out to eat last night with out of town family and my MIL was sharing how much I have already planned of our trip. While at the sametime I was getting text from a friend wanting tips on planning her trip! :rotfl:

I almost didn't share these photos with y'all. This was such a last minute idea that I never did get much together for it. I had big ideas but not as much time! All that matters is that we enoyed ourselves and had some time as a family. Side note here: When I mention hard working hubby I mean it! He works 8hr swing shift which means one week of 1st, one week of 2nd, one week of 3rd. This makes family time hard. Esp. in the summer when others take off for vacays and he works 12 hour shifts 5 days a week. I know many hubbys do this so maybe some of you understand. We just use anything we can as family time! Even planning Disney! ;)

We had a Mickey theme lunch with Mickey plates, Mickey pasta, and Mickey cheese.

Then we watched our Planning DVD sent from Disney. I had Mickey Ears (Oreos) and popcorn to snack on.

T loves my planning binder. Everytime I get it out she wants to write in it. So I made her her own planning folder! It has toddler maps and planning sheets in it! She loves it and is even sitting here beside me with it. :) (sharing this in another post)

IMG_9852.jpg

She really enjoyed watching the DVD. I want to show her as many photos I can of Disney so that she will know what to expect. I am afraid at her age it might be overwhelming to just go into it. Esp. with the charcters.

The funniest part of this was T thought it was her birthday!! :rotfl2: We were sitting there eating and she said "I am finished with my birthday"!

Thank you for stopping by and I can't wait to share more with you soon. Maybe so of the goodies I have already bought for our trip?! ;)

Well, I took all of the goodies out and goodness!! It look like I had the Disney Store on my bed. :rotfl2: I am going to go through everything and then I will do several post on things I have gotten. Most of them have come from the good 'ole Dollar Tree or Wal-Mart on sale. I want to make sure to try and tell you where I bought everything. :thumbsup2

But y'all we had our first Disney Movie Night last night and I had so much fun! :woohoo: I think DH even enjoyed it! See most of our family doesn't get my need to over plan or theme things. Let's be honest, they think I am NUTS! :cool1: However they still talk about parties and things I did from years ago so I think I am doing a great job. That is my goal, to make everyday a memory! I posted the night in another thread so here is the link.

I am so sorry for the crazy pictures. I am still learning how to do all of the resizing and my laptop was not wanting to be on its good behavior today for me. I hope you enjoy our Lilo and Stitch night and I will talk to you soon!!

Ok everyone I need a little help! :rotfl: I am having DD's birthday party two days after we return from Disney. Yes, I know I am nuts!:upsidedow I was going to go with a Minnie type theme but have decided to go with more of a Disney World theme. What I need to know is what are some of the first things you think of when you think Magic Kingdom? Other than the castle. Some that those who may have not been in years would still remember. Right now I have this list:
Castle
Main Street
Train
Dumbo
Tea Cups
Fireworks
It's a small world
Mickey Ears
Mickey Balloons

Also, what are favorite snacks from MK?

Thank you! I am trying to have it all planned and bought, made, then stored ready to go for when we get back.:rotfl2:

Joining in. I love all your planning...and you have a beautiful family.
I would love it if you could share your Kids planning binder things. (printable size) Is it possible to post them here? or if not, could you email me them I can PM you my email. I have a young niece and 2 young cousins going on our trip, plus my DD and niece who are a bit older, but they all might enjoy something like this.
