Our girlie summer Vegas get-away (over and done with)

Marcie,

I like the first one or the last one (the second one might be a smidge short though.........)

I like this one. It's pretty without being too fussy. The other two from Macys were okay too, just wouldn't be my first choice. :)

Love the pics Beth. I want to do one "expensive" show and was thinking either the Elvis Cirque or Barry Manilow at Paris. Well, the decent seats at Barry are almost $200 and now it's sounding like Elvis isn't that good. Don't want to spend quite that much for a show - I was thinking $100-$125ish. I guess we'll wait and see what goes on special or what local deals they have as the date draws nearer.

I hope we (as a group) keep Divas and Carrot Top (or a similar comedy show). I really want to see them both.;) How did you like the comedy show you saw this weekend, Beth?
Linda, those are crazy prices for Barry!!! I wouldn't pay that and I love me some Barry. When we saw him at the Hilton recently, we found discount tix. The seats were good and the pair was only $69 from that radio shopping show where Cheryl bought the CSI tickets. I'd wait, and see if his tickets don't drop once the newness of him being at Paris is over, kwim?

As for Viva Elvis, don't let any negative reviews stop you. It's like a movie. Some times the critics say it's excellent and you see it and are like huh?? That was horrible. Or vice versa. Sometimes a movie gets awful reviews, and yet you love it. So if you and Cheryl are up for seeing one "splurge" show, I'd go for it.
Or what about Le Reve? I can't remember if you'd already seen that one. I loved it.

I definitely plan on keeping Divas and Carrot Top and I know Theresa, and Marcie are on board for those two no matter what. :thumbsup2 (too bad y'all aren't here now! During the week, like today for example, the Divas show usually shows up as a freebie in my emails.)
Frank Caliendo was okay. He mainly does impressions, including a lot of sports guys like Madden, and Barkley which sort of lost me. But his George Bush and others were funny. You can check him out here if you'd like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P52bmJXYQPQ

I do plan to keep Divas on the schedule. I sure don't want to miss a drag show. I do hope to get a spa day in too somewhere.

LOL Thanks for the reply Beth!
We're in vacation turmoil right now. We had 2 cruises planned...both that are going to be cancelled...but we haven't sat down to figure it all out yet. We (DH and I) are trying to go to Dayton in April to see Beau's World percussion finals....then I have a scrapbooking getaway in May - but that is for my bday & mother's day, so I keep telling DH that it is not a vacation...its a gift ;) Then DH is going on a motorcycle tour later in May. So my thought is I'll deserve a getaway in June after surviving that, and Vegas is just a hop, skip and a jump away! LOL
We'll see....there is always hope!

Maybe I should make a thread for my wedding? Not meaning to go off topic. But, I want y'all to be my bridal party helpers even if y'all can't go and it's just opinions.

Sorry about the canceled cruises. That's always a bummer to cancel any trip. Been there, done that. :(

May is definitely not a vacation for you. More of a working gift. lol And after your DH's motorcycle tour in May, well, it's your turn in June! Makes sense to me. Vegas is close, no need for airfare, you can have roomies to cut costs if you want to, and it's only a few days.
Do like Callie did on our other thread and use your powers of persuasion..... :rolleyes1

It's very pretty. I like the top, but I think the length would overwhelm you. With your height and great legs, you need something shorter. Not too short, but maybe right at the knee like that one white dress for $60-something you posted earlier.

Nah, keep posting them here. Makes it easier to find. :thumbsup2
Any more talk of a possible date? :confused3

Well, Gary has invited two of his friends to go with us and one of them says he needs a months notice to get off of work. We have to wait until the legal stuff with my brother is finished, which could take a month, so maybe by March we'll set a date.

Marcie - I still like the other white dress the best. It's not your traditional, white wedding gown and you could wear it again for a fancy event :thumbsup2 Why go traditional if you don't have to??? You're getting married by Elvis - have fun with it:woohoo:

I vote for setting the date as say, June 8 :rolleyes1

Honestly the only time you would ever see me in a white dress is for a wedding. I tend to like darker colors. So, should I look at different colors or keep it white for a wedding?

Hi Marcie!

We haven't met yet but I hope you don't mind me replying about your dresses:flower3:

The pleated halter dress is cute but it reminds me a lot of Marilyn Monroe's dress in Some Like It Hot.

I really like the same dress a few of the others liked!

Thanks of course you can reply!

I just went ahead and ordered the favorite dress in 3 different sizes and I will try them on and see how they look.

Here's another knee length, this one is actually in the store. To see the favorite on me I am going to have to order it. Maybe this weekend I will figure out what size I am. :lmao:
This does look like a Marilyn dress, but I like it! It would be cute with the theme you have going on. And you defiintely have the arms and legs to pull this off.
