Hi Alicia,

I love your report already!

The picture of your Mom drinking the Bud is hilarious!!

You look fabulous even though you have a newborn baby, I lived in sweats and didn't brush my hair for a couple of months after my son was born, never mind make-up and nice fitting clothes lol :)

Thanks Monica!

Trust me, when i'm at home, that's what I live in. In fact I just got out of my pj's not too long ago, to get changed into lounge/workout gear :rotfl2: Way more comfy then jeans and easier to nurse in. :thumbsup2

Wonderful first trip pictures to one day show Calvin.

PS love the ears!

What a great day :) Calvin is just so cute!!!

EoS is downright delicious. Must try it for breakfast sometime.

Really enjoying the updates!

I can't wait to go to Cars Land someday...sounds so cool!

I had no idea that EoS had breakfast also. Yum!

Very cool that your mom rode Tower of Terror. :thumbsup2

Looking forward to more of Calvin's first Disney trip!

It's been a while since I've been on here. Congrats on the good news that your lump was not anything harmful! I love your mini-trip to Disneyland to test the WDW waters, great idea. And it looks like you guys were having a great time. I saw the Mad Hatter party when I was in DCA in September, but we had baseball tickets each night, so we missed the action. Maybe it will be there next time. I have 14 points left to use on my 2012 DVC use year, so I'm thinking I might plan a one day trip in January. We'll see what happens. I'm glad to see that you are all doing well and I can't wait for your WDW trip!

Oh my goodness - your pics from DCA are so fun, and what a little cutie you have there!! How many weeks was he again? Adorable! Love him just sleeping on everything LOL.

Thanks guys!

The breakfast sandwiches are delicious and filling! The bread is the best part!

Cars Land is amazing! You must get there someday. I'm sure Dug Baby will love it!

Thank you so much. I'm so glad it's nothing more than just annoying cysts. In fact, a day or two after the appointment, I found a very large cyst in the other breast :sad2: Brought this up to my Dr at my 6 week appointment and she said we wouldn't need to do another ultrasound because it's more than likely a cyst and that they should hopefully go away after I wean Calvin from breastfeeding. I guess they cysts are fairly common among breastfeeding women.

Ooh yes you must plan a trip in January if you have points leftover! :yay:

Oh my goodness - your pics from DCA are so fun, and what a little cutie you have there!! How many weeks was he again? Adorable! Love him just sleeping on everything LOL.

Thank you! He was a little over 5 weeks when we went and I think he did really good!

Calvin woke DH and I up fairly early today (5:15am) so we decided to just stay up and go to Disneyland early, even though today we had planned on sleeping in.

Please note the Cars onesie

DH and I left the room at 7:10 because we were able to get into Disneyland an hour early, even though it had been open for 10 minutes already. We headed straight to Space Mountain and then went to Matterhorn. Matterhorn had changed their cars over and I had not been able to check it out during my pregnancy. DH was very impressed with the new seats and even mentioned it to a CM when we were stepping into the car and she said, "Wow, I appreciate you saying that. All we ever hear are complaints and it's nice to hear something positive for once." Wow! I'm actually surprised people don't like the new vehicles. They are way more comfortable, IMO, but I can see why people wouldn't like them. Your legs are way more elevated.

It was 8:05 after we got off the ride, so the park had just opened and we were hungry. So where did we go?? EoS YET AGAIN! :woohoo::yay: Love this place and we are definitely obsessed.

We took breakfast up to the room and got ready to head out after about an hour and a half.

Definitely a fatty in this pic :rotfl2:

We took all our suitcases to the car at this point before going to the park so we could get in the car and take off at the end of the day.

We went back to Disneyland because my mom really wanted to get on IASW (her fav ride:crazy2:) and she wanted Calvin to get on it. I'll be so glad that we did though...

As we were walking into the park, Calvin started getting fussy so I decided to do my first breastfeeding session in the park and I was nervous! Nervous for people to come up and say something I think since i've heard awful stories about this. But I knew I needed to overcome my fear and just do it if I wanted to be successful for WDW. So we went to some benches sitting in front of the railroad entrance on main street. Well the feeding was going great and what would happen?? The Main Street band decides to come out and do some songs right behind us!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

It was SUPER loud but it didn't bother him at all which was great!

Getting ready to make our way to IASW

The wait time posted was 30 minutes but we were probably in line for 10

I'm so glad we went on this because he was alert and looking all over the place! He loved seeing the different lights. He was amazed by everything and he was so cute.

DH said that IASW alone, made the entire trip worth it.

After that I really wanted to get on the haunted mansion so we did that. Crowds were pretty heavy at this point and the wait time was 40 minutes but I wanted to chance it. It ended up only being about a 15 minute wait. Score! Calvin took the opportunity to sleep.

That was all we really wanted to do and that point so we leisurely made our way down Main street, stopping off at Jolly Holiday to get some Pumpkin muffins. I think they changed their recipe because they definitely didn't taste like this last year. Disappointed.

We always end our trip with a stop at World of Disney at DTD where my mom just had to purchase these two items for the boy.

We browsed some more and started making our way back to the Disneyland Hotel to use the restrooms and change Calvin. On our way out to the lobby, we ran into this guy and DH quickly got Calvin out of his stroller while he was sleeping, so of course he's going to cry!

Overall, a really great trip!

Some things I was worried about:

-Breastfeeding: I was really scared about doing this in public. But Calvin did great and so did I. DH also helped by holding the blanket for me when there was a big breeze

-The stroller and crowds: I figured, if I could use the stroller at Disneyland, I could use it anywhere! I was worried about people cutting me off or running into ankles, but that didn't happen once! With the Veterens Day crowds, I thought this would be happening constantly. I'm now very confident that we will do fine with it at WDW

-People looking at Calvin and wondering why he's here: I thought we'd be getting crazy looks from people and comments about him being so small and that it's not good for his immune system, blah, blah, but we got SO many compliments on how cute he was. I was so relieved!

Things I'm worried about for WDW that happened on this trip:

-So my mom hates hearing him cry and picks him up INSTANTLY. But DH and I can tell when he needs to be picked up or when he's fussing. This can NOT happen at WDW, especially since it's for 9 days, and we don't want to bring this habit home. Also, when he cries in the stroller, she immediately wants to pull over and feed him, even if he ate 5 minutes prior. Hope this isn't a problem.

-Having the stroller stolen: When we got off of the Haunted Mansion, our stroller wasn't where we left it. So after a frantic 20 seconds, we found it moved amongst other strollers. A CM had moved it, I assumed. So I'm thinking about making a sign for the stroller so we can locate it sooner.

Things I'll do differently for WDW than I did for DLR:
-Not pack so much stuff in his diaper bag! We could BARELY get his diaper bag into the bottom of the stroller! And it was a pain to take it out
-Buying some type of hooks for the stroller: When we purchased items, we couldn't place it underneath because of the ginormous diaper bag. So I need to find some hooks

Okay, so I think my mindset is straight for this trip. The only other thing i'm concerned about it the plane ride for my mom. I'm not letting her know that i'm nervous for her but I am. I don't want her to be uncomfortable and scared on a plane for 5 hours. So i'm praying this flight is smooth.

Hope you all enjoyed my mini-TR!

Yay for a good trip! Did you wait long at EoS? We tried to.eat there Sunday afternoon and it was a 30 minute wait just to get to the front of the line to order, so we gave up. Granted it was Veteran's Day, but that was ridiculous! We got a po boy at Brennan's QS and were done with lunch before we would have ordered at EoS.

So glad the test run for all things Calvin went well. Just make sure you talk about some of your concerns with your mother before you go, so when you ask her to let him cry in the stroller she understands you are trying to teach him behavioral skills and not just ignoring him.

Have a great relaxing weekend!

The line for EoS for lunch was always long. The line was always past the eating area outside and Dan waited in that line and said it took him about 25 minutes from the end of the line to them handing him his food. But this was Friday afternoon, so I could see it being worse on the weekend.

We actually talked to my mom a little about it last night because he was doing his 'fussy' cry when she was here and told her to watch him and he'll stop within a few minutes, and sure enough he stopped. I'm glad she was able to see that we're not just trying to ignore him when he cries. Now I just hope it sticks.

I hope I can say that you'll have a relaxing weekend but you'll be doing more planning for your trip. At least it shouldn't be as hectic as this past weekend right?

loved reading your mini TR Lesha. The pictures were awesome, Calvin is just so cute. I always wondered how people managed the parks with a small baby I use to struggle just going to the mall lol.

Don't forget that if you buy something in the parks that you can have it delivered to your disney hotel, that may reduce the need for hooks for the stroller. I can see how your mom might pose a small problem with the crying. I can only assume that my dad will be the same way when I have kids...

Have awesome that you got to do a "dress rehearsal" for your WDW trip to iron out all the kinks beforehand!!

I am so glad the trip went well. Gave you some practice for WDW. Love the pictures. Calvin is adorable. I love the outfit you bought him.

Thanks for sharing your trip to Disneyland Lesha - it looked like so much fun.. love the photos of Calvin on IASW! :cutie:

I'm so glad we went on this because he was alert and looking all over the place! He loved seeing the different lights. He was amazed by everything and he was so cute.

I've gathered from other TRs that little ones are very fond of IaSW, but I'm impressed that even a 5-week-old got a kick out of it. I know it will be a must-do for us, just to impress DD.

We always end our trip with a stop at World of Disney at DTD where my mom just had to purchase these two items for the boy.

Adorable jammies!

-Breastfeeding: I was really scared about doing this in public. But Calvin did great and so did I. DH also helped by holding the blanket for me when there was a big breeze

I'm glad it worked out well for you. I'd be nervous about that too. So far, the closest to "in public" I've come is in the car. I'm sure the timing will work out so that I'll need to at some point, though.

I got a taste of this when we went to the (very crowded) Mall of America recently. We were also successful with the stroller, but it took effort to avoid people's ankles and such! Good WDW practice!

-Buying some type of hooks for the stroller: When we purchased items, we couldn't place it underneath because of the ginormous diaper bag. So I need to find some hooks

Not sure if this is common or not, but our diaper bag (a Skip Hop brand one) has built in loops to hook it over stroller handles. I haven't tried them yet, but I know they're there. If not, I'm sure there are things you can buy to do that.

Really enjoyed your DL TR! :goodvibes

I hope I can say that you'll have a relaxing weekend but you'll be doing more planning for your trip. At least it shouldn't be as hectic as this past weekend right?

I'm glad your mom got to see a little of his proper behavior before you left. Hopefully she'll remember that on the trip.

Tomorrow, we're still working boxing up music, 116 boxes done, about 200 to go. We have a car club event Sunday morning and I have a massage in the afternoon, so for us that's relaxing! FE gifts are my biggest worry now!
