Hi Lesha - just read your new blog, the nursery looks beautiful! Love the theme & colour scheme :goodvibes

Hope your back feels better soon :thumbsup2 this may be a silly question... but did you still go to the gym once you found out you were pregnant? (I remember on your Dream cruise TR last year you were going to the gym on the ship!) - I had a friend at the gym I used to go to who kept up gym workouts until she was over 8 months pregnant  hehe

Btw Happy 4th July!!!

Emma princess: x

Hi Emma! Thank you! I think we did a pretty good job on it :)

When I found out I was pregnant I was still working out, up until about 11-12 weeks, when I physically could not do it because of the awful morning sickness I had. I didn't do any type of cardio, pilates, yoga, weight lifting for a good 2 1/2 months. I finally got back into using the treadmill and doing light yoga about a month ago. If I didn't have that awful bout of MS, I would have been working out the entire time still.

Alicia the nursery is adorable!!! And love the Monster's Inc. clothes, too cute! Did you hear they're coming out with a prequel when Mike and Sully met at college? It looks good, don't know the release date though.

Thanks Pam! Oh my goodness, YES! I'm so stinkin excited about the movie! I thought it was coming out :sad2:NEXT :sad2:Summer. Soooo far away.

I am so far behind but I checked out the baby blog and had to say I simply love the color scheme and the Nursery Decor :)

Thank you! We love it too!

Major bummer about the back pain. I hope the chiropractor can help!

I love the nursery! My DS's room is classic pooh too :)

The chiropractor really helped! I feel tons better!

Aw is it?! I was doing a lot of research online, trying to get ideas for classic pooh boy nurseries, but never had much luck with finding things. Same thing for the baby shower - it will be classic pooh too!

Great update on the blog. I love the colors and the theme. Everything looks so nice. You did a great job on the frames. It is very hard not to shop for your little one especially when you find Disney stuff. I got the same Winnie the Pooh memory book for my daughter and then I purchased it for my cousin when she had her baby in February. It is the cutest one. I can't believe you are 12 weeks away. It goes so fast. You little boy will be here before you know it.

Thanks Gina! I KNOW! It feels like I just told everyone on here that I got pregnant, and now it's right around the corner. I'm actually starting to get nervous now...I had a dream last night about breastfeeding (not sure why, but i'm scared about doing it??) and it really freaked me out...hopefully that will all go away by the time he comes out!

Your nursery is adorable, I love the colors! I think the classic pooh is very cute also!

I'm so sorry about the back pain! I had it really bad in my second trimester with DS, but then it magically went away. It was very strange, I don't know if he was laying in a weird way and moved or what!

I just wanted to add my two cents about the carriers. I am going to get a moby for this baby, but I also have a becco and loved using it at Disney. I have the becco butterfly II, but I'm thinking about selling it on craigslist and getting the new gemini, because the baby can both face in or out, and the carrier still has good hip support (unlike the bjorn).

Although it will be cooler in Dec in WDW, it still can get warm, and it might be too hot for a moby.

The chiropractor helped me SO much! I was still hurting later that day, but the next day, sitting was WAY more bearable. He said it would probably only be one more appointment and then we'll see how I feel after my next appointment on Tuesday.

LOVE the nursery!!!! So adorable! I have another friend here on DIS who did her nursery in Winnie the Pooh too!

Baby's room looking good!!! I LOVE that classic winnie the pooh, its not over the top colorful! And it is a very neutral color and theme..Great idea on the pics too, stuff like that can be so darn expensive, but so inexpensive to make! Congrats on the early baby gifts from your mom, gotta love having the first grandbaby :cheer2: Just wait, it gets even worse in the spoiling dept as the baby gets older...My DS was the first Grandbaby and still is the only, so it started with a crib and changing table too...Now he he has more toys and clothes at her house than at mine!! Don't forget to pick up a nice wee-blocker too!:rotfl2: LOOk IT UP AND YOU WILLL HAVE A GOOD LAUGH...exp since its a needed accessory!

My mom got so excited about looking for cribs and stuff online, in fact, she's the one that sent me all the products via email to look at them and see what I thought about them! :rotfl2: She's WAY happy about her first grandbaby!

Very cute nursery, I liked the onesiey with Mike on it!

I see a Chiropractor twice a week if I can, swear by it and have been seeing Chiropractors for like 25+ years now (wow I'm showing my age!).

Oh my goodness, my back felt so much better the next day after I saw him. He did like a hot moisture bath to help loosen the rib heads, massaged the rib/heads, and had me lay on my back and pop the upper half of my back/shoulder area. It felt amazing! I'm seeing him again next Tuesday and said I probably won't need to see him again after this next appointment unless I really need it.

I'll second the PP person about a good chiropractor! Massages are also good:goodvibes

He gave me a mini-massage there and oh my, it felt amazing. I've been wanting to go get a full body massage somewhere, but haven't had the time! So instead, I have DH give me 5 minute massages throughout the day. Probably not the same as a professional doing it, but hey it's free and it still works!

Yay for baby updates! I love the nursery. You kind of made it look like faux wainscoting! So clever!

With my first child, we decorated the nursery so cute. It had white wainscoting, lavender walls, lace curtains and purple gingham bedding embroidered with little Eiffel Towers and poodles. It was VERY girly because, after all, our ultrasound had told us that we were having a little girl. Well.... 4 months later in the delivery room.... Its a BOY! :rotfl2: My MIL went to our house and repainted the nursery green and my husband went to Babies R Us and picked out 3 bedding sets to bring to the hospital so I choose one! For our second child, we decided to just wait to find out the gender.

Anyway, sorry for the diversion down memory lane! Your nursery looks GREAT and its awesome that it really COULD work for either a boy or a girl. :goodvibes

Oh my gosh! That is one of my fears! How did you handle it when they told you it was a boy?! Did you start freaking out? I'm not sure what I will do if they tell me it's a girl in the delivery room...especially since my blocks are already done! :rotfl2:

I just wanted to chime in about the chiropractor thing too... If you get someone who is used to working on pregnant women, its completely safe. I used to work for a chiropractor and we saw pregnant women all the time :goodvibes However, if you want to try a different route, see if you can find a physical therapist or a massage therapist in your area who does "string/counter-string therapy" I saw a massage therapist from 13 weeks until my due date with my second child and she did this technique. It is literally the ONLY thing that saved me from 9 months of pain. Its a really simple theory where they find which muscle/muscles are spasming and move your body into a position that shortens the muscle to stop the spasm. They hold it there for 90 seconds, the time it takes to "break" the message from the brain to the muscle to contract. After the muscle isn't contracting anymore, the therapist can massage it out without crunching on your body. Its completely non-invasive and you will leave feeling like a totally new person.

I hope you feel better!!!

Wow! That is so crazy that they can do that! I felt way better the next day after my appointment! He had me sit in a chair for about 5 minutes while he put a hot moisture bath/pad on my back to help loosen the rib heads. Then he massaged my whole left side of my mid to upper back for about 5 minutes and it felt amazing! Then he had my lay down and popped my upper back on both sides...felt really good! I have another appointment on Tuesday and he said, I probably won't have to come in after my next appointment unless I really needed to. I'm already excited for my next appointment! :lmao:

Great nursery! Impressive painting...we just painted ours today, so I can appreciate the effort it took to do your multi-color scheme. Looking great! :thumbsup2

Glad the chiropractor was able to help you! My DH sees a chiro regularly for his back issues and they really want me to come in for an appointment. I haven't yet, as I've been pretty lucky and relatively not-in-pain for 7 months pregnant, but I'm considering it anyway. I have a friend who is a chiropractor and she says it's valuable just for making sure your pelvis is aligned correctly for birth (or something to that effect). Hope things keep going well for you!

I was completely in a daze but I remember my husband saying "Who's a boy?" We were in total shock but so excited.

Just keep telling him you need it! :rotfl: I figured there was no other time in my life where I would get to see a massage therapist or chiropractor on a regular basis. :rotfl:

I am so excited I have found this pre trip report. I have always loved your trip reports and I am excited to read more.

P.S. My birthday is Sept 9th and I love having a September birthday!!

Thank you! It took FOREVER to get the border lines leveled out and taped. That was the hardest part for sure!

Love the nursery! Glad you got some relief! I love chiropractors!

P.S. My birthday is Sept 9th and I love having a September birthday!!

Aw thanks! We're happy it's a September baby too, since nothing is really 'going on' in September. It seems that every month, except for Sept, Nov, and Dec there is a birthday, so we're happy about September! :cool1:

So a few days after I posted my update about my back, it started hurting again. :headache: I saw my chiropractor again yesterday and told me it was more likely a nerve that was being squished by the baby. My doctor had told me the same thing, that it could be from a nerve. I was really hoping it wasn't though.

He told me he can't do anything about the nerve and that's just something I'll have to wait out until my pregnancy is over (10 weeks and 6 days to go!) So i'll just be playing the waiting game and standing/walking most days.

I have my 29 week check up today, so hopefully Calvin is progressing okay. I've gained a total of 3 pounds and everyone else around me is gaining weight rapidly and in far more dubious amounts. I hear for a healthy pregnancy, 20 pounds gained is good. I'm not sure I can gain another 17 pounds by September! That just seems like an insane amount! But i'll be posting a belly pic, hopefully tonight. :)

Trip update:

I'm still on the waitlist for Bay Lake Towers. I haven't been able to do much researching for this trip as I have for my other trips. Planning this baby is a full time job! Geez!

I'm sorry about your nerve! :( luckily the second he's out, it will be all over. At the end you will gain the most weight. I remember one week I had gained like 7 lbs and I was shocked!! Yes the baby will totally consume you & he's not even here yet! Lol it is amazing the power of the little people!

Oh my gosh I gain 3 lbs after a good meal at Disney :rotfl:

I hope everything is going great with baby and some of your pain is doing better, it sounds like you are uncomfortable trying to just relax

I'm sorry the pain came back, that's pitzy. If the chiropractor helped for a few days maybe go a few times a week if that's possible. Or try the massage therapy that another poster suggested. I hope you can be semi comfortable for the rest if the pregnancy.

I've always heard that 25-35 pounds is what they want for people who started out at a normal weight. My midwife's guidelines are that they want 10 pounds by 20 weeks, then 1 pound a week from there to the end (so, about 30 total). I've found that I've been right on that, but I also did not have morning sickness and I believe that you had it quite bad. I'm assuming you lost weight from that and you are probably fine with being where you're at. I've found that I've been extra hungry the last couple weeks (32 weeks now), so that may be coming for you too. As long as you're gaining a reasonable amount from here on out, I think you're fine. Much of that gain is going straight to the baby and his growth spurts at this point, so it does creep up surprisingly fast as he grows and puts on his baby fat stores.

Sorry about the nerve pain! I hope it goes away ASAP!

I just go, there is always something he needs to fix. I'm always moving stuff, doing something that puts everything out of whack. I know better enough just to keep a standing appointment so he can fix me.

The one I see now has a philosophy that normally people are strengthened through increasing the strength of the muscles that are usually taxed so he has me go through excercises to increase the strength of the muscles that have problems. He calls this agressive treatment and when I am on the table working the muscles with problems, he calls that passive treatment. For the most part I have been doing passive treatment since I have been beating myself up lately. I'm doing good when I do the agressive treatement! :thumbsup2

I haven't been on in a while so i'm SO SORRY for not reading up on everyone else's TR's.

It's been a crazy past week, with some not so good news today.

DH's digestive system has been causing him a lot of pain. A lot of diarrhea, a lot of bleeding and a lot of weight loss. The doctor thinks he may have Crohn's Disease. We'll be going to the specialist today, at least I hope. They scheduled him for Monday :scared1: which I don't think he'll even be able to make it through today. They said if he got worse today, to call and hopefully they can get him in. So we'll be calling here in about 30 minutes, so please PRAY that they can see him today. He doubles over in pain every hour or so. He's not sure if it's cramps or spasms, but they knock him out and make him quite tired. He's also currently on three different medications, which is probably why he is also tired.

Please keep us in your prayers. This is not exactly news I was wanting to hear, being at already 30 weeks and 4 days. He starts back up to work next Wednesday and i'm worried about that. We were also supposed to be going to Disneyland tomorrow with the family but that's not going to happen. Also tomorrow is our 6 year wedding anniversary and I don't see us doing much. Not a good day.

Hopefully i'll be back on soon to be able to update on everything.

Thanks friends :goodvibes

Hi Alicia,

Your poor DH, I have similar condition called colitis. I really hope he gets seen before monday so that the suffering can stop, I know how painful it can be.

Am praying for you both :goodvibes

Alicia,
That's too bad to hear that he is in so much pain. I hope that he gets some relief soon.

I hope he was able to get in to see the doctor. Not good that they'd try to see if he can make it, nobody should be in such pain over the weekend. :(

As someone who had similar digestive issue happen to me, I feel for your DH that pain is not pain I would wish upon anyone. I hope they find out what is wrong with him soon. I will be praying for you and him. (I do hope it isn't Crohn's)
