Hi Lesha!

Hope you are enjoying your maternity leave so far :goodvibes enjoyed reading your latest blog posts, so organised with making all those meals & having your bags ready to go... must be so exciting right now! Btw you look so healthy with your baby bump, and only 6lbs gained? I don't know why but I always thought women gained 2 stone (28lbs) when pregnant?! :upsidedow

Aw thanks Emma! Yes! Most women tend to gain 20+ pounds but my doctor is very happy with my weight gain since it seems to be enough to keep the baby healthy, and me too. Plus, I don't have to work too extremely hard after the baby is born to get back to my pre-preggo weight. :cool1:

Glad you're on maternity leave now. I hope your baby comes soon!

Hey Alison! Me too! I'm sitting here bouncing on my ball with some slight cramping, so hopefully this is a good sign.

Just got back from my appointment and i'm 100% effaced and a little over 1 cm dilated. Better than nothing right?!

However, she did say that my cervix was very posterior (postanterior maybe?) but in order for her to feel anything she practically had to stick her arm up in me. She said it was very far back and that she wasn't sure if she was even feeling his head or his butt, which got me nervous. She brought in an ultrasound machine and told me that if his butt is down, then we need to discuss other delivery options. I was praying that his head was down. Sure enough though, it was his head! PHEW!!!!! I did not want to have to discuss a possible C-section today. She also said he has dropped, which I couldn't even tell, but I was measuring at 34, which means he had dropped a good amount.

We also started discussing about what I should do if my water breaks, because honestly, I would have no idea what to do. She told me that I would need to come down to the hospital pretty much after my water breaks because if I try to wait it out at home, I could get an infection (thank goodness she told me this, because I thought I was just going to have it out at home for a few hours before coming in. Had she not said this, I would have been sitting at home, waiting).

Overall, little progress, hopefully more will happen within the next week!

Sorry I have been MIA recently. I hope I remember everything I want to say now that I am all caught up.

First I am glad that what your DH has is manageable. You looked great in that picture of you at 32 weeks.

Your baby shower looked like so much fun!!! I LOVE the Dirty Diaper Game and demanded to play it for my shower as well. You looked amazing in the pictures from it and recently on your blog.

We really enjoyed Grand Floridian Cafe, I really liked their pork chop meal.

Hope baby Calvin makes his entrance soon and that it is a smooth delivery.

Yay for progress!!! I have a friend from college who is almost exactly where you are in her pregnancy right now. She went out dancing last night and ate a ton of spicy food to try and get the baby to hurry up :rotfl2: I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you!!

and still no baby.

I'm getting more and more uncomfortable each day and getting more and more anxious with each passing day. I don't want to have to be scheduled to be induced, i'd rather go into labor naturally. I've read bad things about having to be induced and i'm afraid of what she is going to tell me at my appointment tomorrow.

PLEASE pray that my cervix is low enough tomorrow for my membranes to be swept or something to help speed things along. Technically this was supposed to be my last appointment, but they made an appointment for me next Wednesday just in case =

I just want to wake up in the middle of the night to say, "My water broke!" instead of saying, "I have to pee!"

Will report back tomorrow with hopefully some news.

ETA: I forgot to say this. Since my appointment last Friday, i'd been spotting. I thought it was from the exam since she was trying really hard to feel my cervix and was being a little rough. But then the spotting continued through the weekend and on Monday and decided if I was still spotting on Tuesday, I would call the nurse. There was still spotting Tuesday morning, so I called and she said this was completely normal and that my cervix was changing and that it should be any day now....pfft, yeah right!

Oh I so know what you are feeling. My first son (he is 11 now) was 8 days late and I was going crazy with anticipation.

Good luck at your appointment. You will be holding your little boy in your arms before you know it.

Lesha at least there is a little progress, both my boys were late one 20 days and one 5 days. My water broke with the second and I took a shower and got Hell from the Dr since he said I should have gone right to the hospital lol

I most looking forward to seeing his hands and feet from the outside of my tummy, rather than feeling him punching and kicking me from inside! It hurts more and more each day since he's running out of room in there!

20 DAYS!!! Please don't make me cry right now! I'm surprised they didn't want to induce you a week past your due date! Geez, you MUST have been uncomfortable.

Well, at least my doctor told me I could take a shower before going in. I don't want to feel yucky and dirty on the way into the hospital; i'd rather be that way in the hospital.

Subscribing! We will hopefully be taking our new addition next April so I am really looking forward to hearing about your trip with your new baby.

I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well. For what its worth, I went to the doctor a week and a half ago (at 39 weeks); I wasn't dilated and was basically told nothing was happening...two hours later my water broke! I think your little one will be here VERY soon! :thumbsup2

Oh wow congratulations! :cool1:

What an amazing story! Let's hope that happens tomorrow, that would be so awesome!

DD came the day after her due date. I woke up at 12:30 having to pee and my water broke.

Hope he comes soon for you!

Can't tell you anything from experience, but I hope it's soon!!! I only know from second hand, but I know how all my friends felt at this time and its the same anticipation you're feeling!

Prayers and thoughts your way!

Ooh the spotting might mean something Is happening soon!

Fingers crossed you get your membrane sweep!

Just realized it was 19 days he was due Dec 21 and appeared Jan 9 :scared1:

This was in 1970 before routine ultra sounds and they kinda just assumed you calculated your dates wrong, so much has changed since then for the better. As for the shower I so agree I did not want to feel yucky and dirty either lol

Sending pixie dust your little man makes his appearance soon!

No progress. Well i'm now close to 2cm dilated. So that's the only progress, if you can call it that.

My cervix was so posterior this time, that she actually had me roll my hands up into fists and place them under my butt/back to elevate me because she couldn't reach:sad: She also was a little rougher this time on purpose she said, making a kind of swiping motion on my cervix, so i'm not sure if she swept my membranes a little bit, or was attempting to, since I was so far back.

So my next appointment is on Wednesday at 11:15. If no progress has been made from today until Wednesday, we have to discuss induction.:sad: Something I TRULY AND REALLY do not want. I started tearing up when I got in my car. I feel like i've done so much to try to help this pregnancy along, that it was a waste of time. I'm now very unmotivated to do anything at this point to help induce labor.

I'm so upset.

The same thing happened to me where they said they would talk about inducing me if my next appt I had not gone in labor and I did thankfully I was very upset I even started a thread about inducing on here on the disboards... Do not give up hope and I will pray you go into labour naturally.
