Today was to be a lazy day as we have our treatments booked at the Saratoga Springs Spa
We booked these the day we went to Universal and decided on the couples massage, but unknown at the time of booking the room was due to be having work done it and a message was left on our room phone later that day. By the time we got back to SSR after spending the night at PBH we had a further message to say the treatment had now been moved to 2 separate massages and unless they heard back it was confirmed as such. Not too disappointed about this as we still would get our massages. So back to Saturday morning we got up and had a few slices of toast and then headed over to DTD, this was the longest bus wait ever at about 35 minutes! But once at DTD we headed to the Earl of Sandwich for lunch, and wow was it busy!
It took about 20 minutes to get our sandwiches which was good considering the queue. But mmm the smell while waiting just made you more hungry!
I had The Florentine grilled chicken, creamed spinach, mushrooms and parmesan cheese.
While Nathan had the Hawaiian - ham, grilled chicken, Hawaiian BBQ sauce, Swiss cheese and pineapple.
We also added a bag of crisps each. Once again the sandwiches were very tasty
After this we had a wander around the stores before getting the boat back to SSR.
The weather was not looking too good so we were glad we had the massages booked
Then it was time to go to the Spa. Upon arrival we were informed the couples massage was back on as the room was not being worked on after all! Well what can I say we both thoroughly enjoyed the massages but were disappointed that the Jacuzzi was not a mixed sex one
So after the massage we headed back to our room, the weather was not too good and surprisingly the pool bar at the Grandstand pool was closed! After relaxing for the rest of the afternoon we decided to go to the ESPN club for dinner. The sunset tonight was stunning
Upon arrival we noticed the queue was out the door. Not unusual but the queue did not move as we then found out there were several big football games on so tables were being occupied for a lot longer than necessary for a meal
The Boardwalk did look nice at night though.
Eventually once seated we shared a starter of Macho Nachos - - crispy corn tortilla chips piled high and topped with spicy ground beef, shredded cheddar cheese, fresh pico de Gallo, sour cream, and sliced jalapenos
Then I had the ESPN Dinger Sandwich - our famous breaded chicken strips tossed in mild sauce, served on a fresh baked roll with cucumber salad or fries.
While Nathan had the The Angus Chuck Slider Burger - topped with blue cheese and bacon on a fresh baked roll, served with cucumber salad or fries.
Once we had finished we got the bus back to DTD and then one to SSR as tomorrow we were off early to Seaworld.
