Our first trip and our honeymoon at Disney World, what could go wrong?

I can't stand when people recite the words to HM...drives me CRAZY..But I am SOOOO loving your TR!!! Can't wait to see more but I know you're busy..so take your time.

Yeah it is annoying as heck when they do that but I just give them the evil eye and most of the time they get the hint. :thumbsup2

I'm working on an installment now for you guys so hang tight. :goodvibes

Ok, now I'm on page 5 :) (and I do have to comment on everything, sorry! :) ). I love the train setup! One of my favorite memories is from our last trip (which happened to be the week after you were there) just standing there for almost 2 hours watching the little lizards all over the train track. We were laughing like crazy people at the lizards standing on the track like they were playing chicken with the train.

I can't believe no one would take your picture! What is wrong with people?!?

Yeah I would have stayed there alot longer but it was getting really crowded so we took off and I have no idea what was wrong with everybody around us at that moment. I blame it on the heat and over eating and drinking that made people really crabby.

The lizards are great in the little train city. My DH had me laughing because at one point a lizard climbed on top of a building and he was yelling "Godzilla" What a dork!

It took a while, but I think I'm finally all caught up. Great updates and love all the photos. Can't wait to see what adventures are awaiting on Castaway Cay.

:lmao: This was me after reading this.

Okay so today was the day I was looking forward to most.

CASTAWAY CAY! :woohoo:

We didn't have any type of shore excursions planned because we figured it would be our down day to just relax on the beach and enjoy the environment. Because of this we slept in for a bit and finally headed out at around 9am to get something to eat before getting on the island.

When we arrived up on deck 9 and I got my first glimpse of Castaway Cay all that kept coming out of my mouth was OMG, OMG, OMG, IT WAS BEAUTIFUL, SIMPLY GORGEOUS. I felt like I was looking at a real life postcard. We momentarily forgot about eating and started taking pictures instead.

http://

http://

http://

http://

So we ate a really quick breakfast because I was going crazy wanting to get on the island. I didn't even get any pictures of our food because I was dancing around in my seat all hyper. :hyper:

Finally we get off the ship and the insane picture taking begins. I know you guys said you wanted lots of photos, well here ya go. :thumbsup2

The first picture was of the Castaway Cay post office who happened to have Pluto standing in front of it. We didn't attempt to get photos with any of the characters on the ship or the island on this trip, it was always just a mad house and there didn't seem to ever be any type of order to it. O'well something else to do on our return trip!

http://

http://

http://

And of course we have like a thousand photos of the Flying Dutchman.

http://

http://

This is one of DH artsy shots. I must admit it came out pretty cool looking.

http://

YAY more pictures!!! You know me..I love the pictures. But these are outstanding Kat!! I mean it---you have done an excellent job at them. Maybe one day we'll be able to take that cruise :)

http://

I finally drag DH away from the Flying Dutchman by telling him he can take more pictures later and we head off in search of some fun beach time, or so I thought.

So yours truely had a bright idea. I told DH that if we rented one of those boats in the lagoon we could get up closer to the Flying Dutchman and he could get some better pictures. :thumbsup2 Sounds fool proof doesn't it?

Well upon arriving at the rental desk I had another bright idea to rent one of the water tricycles instead of the pontoon type boat or any of the other ones for that matter. For some reason I thought the water trikee seemed so much more fun. :rolleyes1 Anyway this is the beginning of the first "INCIDENT" of the day!

So the really cool guy doing the rentals ask us what we would like to rent and we tell him and he says "Oh, you guys feel like getting a work out today huh?" I of course didn't really think about that comment until later on, therefore not putting two and two together that the water trikee's are hard to drive. And of course DH doesn't say anything at all because he figures if this is what I want then this is what we will do.

Anyway we get all our information and we ask him just how long we have to be in the water with the bike and he tells us it says you pay for a half an hour but on the island they go by bahamian time. Of course DH and I are like what's that, and so he tells us just bring it back whenever your done and feel like it. Well okay then we will. :thumbsup2 Oh, by the way this was a blessing because if we had only had a half an hour we would have owed Disney like $1000.

Off we go to find life vest that fit us, this was our first obstical, or should I say mostly my obstical. I swear on my life that these stupid vest are smaller then what they say on them. I realize I'm not a super thin girl and I'm pleasantly plump in spots but seriously I had to wear a 3xx vest. Even DH vest was only a 2x, what the heck people!

So finally vested up and ready to go we make our way over to the lifeguard who takes us to our trikee, once arriving he tells us if we get tired or have any problems just wave your arms and someone will come help you. Okay great, no problem. Off we go!

It started off great, we took off in the direction of the Flying Dutchman, but after pedaling for about 5min we realized it was pretty darn hard and I had failed to factor in the weight difference between DH and myself so the trikee was leaning to the left pretty bad. It also didn't help that the water was like 3 feet deep in certain parts so we keep getting stuck on sand bars because of the weight factor. I off course got tired of pedaling after a few more minutes and so we just kinds sat there and drifted for a bit. We never really made it that close to the Flying Dutchman because the trikee was just to hard to steer. I will show you some of the photos we took before DH had his "I'm a man moment" :rotfl2:

This is as close as we got to the ship, before we gave up and just drifted. So much for that plan huh? :rolleyes1

/
So we just drifted and drifted and got further and further away from the shore. My legs had pretty much gone numb from trying to pedal us around and DH was getting more and more irratated. I decided not to get upset and was all in all having a pretty good time. I mean the view was great and I didn't really have any place better to be. It was about this time we had probably been floating around for over an hour and DH wanted to get back, so we started pedaling as best we could but ultimately got stuck on another sand bar, then it was about this time that I started cracking up, I mean seriously laughing to the point that I was crying. I just couldn't help it, I mean the more I thought about our situation the more it was funny to me, and of course the more I laughed the more DH got mad at me, which made me laugh more. Anyway I finally calmed down enough to ask him if he wanted to just wave for the lifeguard to come and get us.

BIG MISTAKE!!!!! :scared:

It was like I stepped over some line of guy code and I should have been banished to the other side of the planet or something. DH proceeded to bark at me about being a man and able to get us back to the shore and if I would just pedal harder and not stop we could do it.

OKAY THEN CRAZY MAN, LETS GO!

Well our 50th attempt to get back to the shore ended in about 3min. And then I was off again. :rotfl2: :lmao:

I think DH was going to kill me at that point.

Anyway, as luck would have it another couple on a trikee happened to be stranded like us a few feet away. They called for help and I guess that was the push that DH needed to do the same. So he does this half a** distress wave that probably had the lifeguard laughing. I could tell his masculinity was at jeopardy. :ssst:

So the lifeguard arrives in a few minutes and ask us if we need a tow back to shore and then DH goes into his spiel about not being able to get us back and that I just wasn't strong enough to help him so we had to call for help. Well sheesh honey, I wasn't the only one tired ya know! Alas, I just kept quiet and also kept smiling and laughing. I let him have his moment!

I did however take pictures of us being towed into the shore, which pissed DH off more. I love you baby! :love2:

Look at the trikee in front of ours, that is the other couple being towed in. :lmao:

http://

http://

GOOD TIMES, GOOD TIMES!!!!!! :rotfl2:  :thumbsup2

So we get back to the shore and if you have ever been next to one of those trikee's you know how high off the ground they are. Well I failed to realize just how tired and numb my legs had become so when I went to get off the bike it wasn't pretty. DH had already gotten off and the bike was still half in the water and so not on stable ground. I put my right leg over the step bar instead of using it as a step like your supposed to and inadvertantly I decided to try and hop off the bike the rest of the way. Well not having full feeling in my legs that plan didn't really work and so the outcome was me with my right leg about a foot from the ground, the top part of my body hanging off the bike and my left leg caught in the seat area. Seriously, not a pretty picture. Anyway I managed to get my left leg loose and fell to the ground with a nice thud. After I had regained some dignity I looked over at DH and the lifeguard who of course just stood there smiling at me. JERKS! Payback is a you know what I guess.

DH and I hobble over to our stuff and without either of us really speaking to each other we decided to get on the tram to Serenity Bay. Upon arriving at the tram stop I took some more pictures to keep me busy.

http://

http://

http://

So finally DH gets over his bruised ego slightly, and we take this picture together.

http://

Anyway the tram came slightly after that and we enjoy the ride over to Serenity Bay. It was getting really hot now and I was ready to get in the crystal clear water and just bask in the sunshine.

Coming up later....... Our adventures on Serenity Bay. The day gets a bit more interesting.

*the plot thickens* I can't wait for more pictures. Sorry you had a time with those dreaded trikee's..I've seen them and have no desire to try them out :)...but that's just me!!

Great update. I LOVE the photos. Especially the artsy fartsy ones. :thumbsup2 Your tour of the lagoon had my sides hurting. :rotfl2: Looking forward to hearing how the day turned out.

Thanks, but I can't take credit for alot of the photos it was DH with the camera most of the time.

Looking forward to more! Castaway Cay looks SO inviting.

It is BEYOND INVITING! :thumbsup2

Thanks, so glad you liked my little tale of horror.

Again I have to give credit to DH for the artsy fartsy photos he is the mastermind behind them, and there are a ton more coming up. :thumbsup2

love you report cant wait to read more

Thanks you :goodvibes I'm working on the next installment now!

Okay so I left off with DH and I on the tram to Serenity Bay. It was a short but very nice ride. The scenery around the island is just amazing, but for some reason we don't have any pictures while on the tram. After arriving we took off to find a place to dump our stuff and relax the rest of the day away.

DH had some kinda fascination with the hermit crabs walking around all over the place. He took a photo of this one by our chairs.

http://

DH took off for the water and I stayed for a few minutes enjoying the view and snapping some more photos.

http://

http://

http://

So then I see DH waving at me and yelling something so I walk to the water's edge to try and hear him and he is saying he wants the camera. Okay fine, I guess my relaxing, soaking all the beauty in moment is over now.

I go back to the chair and get the camera back into the water proof case and off I go into the beautiful crystal clear water.

It took me forever to get all the way out to the spot DH was at, I didn't realize just how far from the shore he was and I was walking really slow because I don't like the sudden drop offs that oceans have.

So I finally arrive next to him and I'm awe struck that I'm so far out and can still see perfectly all the way to the bottom of the ocean floor. SOOOOOO COOL! :thumbsup2 I swear that the water was clearer then some pools I have swam in.

More photos for your enjoyment....

So this is when I decide to become kinda bratty. I tell DH that I sure would like one of the inner tubes to float around on. He of course looks at me like why didn't you say something before we walked all the way over here. I just shrug my arms and say nothing. So we go back and forth about leaving to go and get one and finally he says if you want one you go get it and I will wait here. I proceed to give him the puppy dog eyes. All you ladies no what I'm talking about right? :rolleyes1 So anyway after using my whiniest voice ever and saying "But I want you to come with me" and adding in the puppy dog eyes, he gives up the fight and starts heading for the shore. All the while mumbling words I just can't make out, but I swear I heard something about the single life in there! :lmao: :rolleyes1

Off we go to rent a floatation device, or so we thought.

between you guys calling for a tow and falling off the trike....i am just hysterical and i telll dh, he says nice kim just like you to laugh at others misfortune... but truly that would totally be us. ask him about our attempt to tube down the chatahoochee (sp?) river, or the ride in a canoe. seriously that would be us (except with a lot of cursing by me)

SO I HAD A WHOLE FREAKIN INSTALLMENT DONE WHEN THE COMPUTER OR THE WEB SITE I DON'T KNOW WHICH ONE IT WAS, DECIDED TO TAKE A CRAPPER AND I LOST EVERYTHING!

 :furious: :badpc:

Anyway I believe DH and I were heading off to get me a tube to float around in. We had arrived at the building and then DH had to go to the restroom so I decided to snap some more photos while I waited.

Finally DH returns and I tell him I have realized I'm starving, and after I say that he all of a sudden is to. We look around and I was pleased to see that Serenity Bay had it's own little version of Cookies Bar-B-Q like on the family beach. I thought we had to take the tram all the way back and eat over there. So we ask somebody the time and they tell us it's a little after 1pm. No wonder we are starving, we havn't eaten since like 9am. So off we go to grab some grub.

All the food looked super yummy and of course instead of trying something different we both end up getting cheeseburgers. Go Figure!

They also had a few different types of salad and we tried them as well, all super yummy, and I loaded up on the fruit salad like there was no tomorrow.

So we grab some seats and start eating and I'm sorry I don't have any pictures but it was like DH and I were two dogs that hadn't eaten in days and found an entire bag of kibble wide open for the taking. :rolleyes1

I think DH went back for seconds, maybe thirds and I went back for seconds on the fruit salad and grabbed some dessert. YUMMMMMMY FOOD! Good job Disney! :thumbsup2

So anyway about an hour later with super stuffed bellies and feeling like we were gonna pop we headed back to our lounge chairs. About half way there I realized.....

ARN'T I FORGETTING SOMETHING? :scratchin

MY INNER TUBE!!!!!

This was after all the whole reason we walked over there in the first place right?

So I look at DH and tell him we forgot my tube. He just turns and gives me the look, you ladies are familiar with that look right? I think there might have even been a slight growl attached to it as well.

:scared:

Fine honey! I get it, moving on then. :rolleyes1

Arriving at our lounge chairs we plopped down and just sat there for awhile. DH found another friend to play with.

http://

So we sat and digested our food and enjoyed the environment. It's such a gorgeous island, it's almost sureal sitting there. After awhile we decided to go and enjoy some more water time before heading back to the ship. DH warned me to wear my water shoes this time because there was a great deal of sea grass out there and that had creatures living in it, so better safe then sorry. I of course tell him I will be fine, I managed the first time out without any problems.

You see where this is going right?

I will continue this in the next post as there is a great deal more photos to share......

Really enjoyed your water trike tale! :lmao: Had me LOL! Thanks for the warning. Looking forward to tomorrow's(??) installment!

Cannot wait for the rest of this story. I hate grass in the ocean it creeps me out. Of course it also has something to do with a crab trying to take my toe from me once.

Beautiful pictures! Thanks for sharing your story about getting off that thing, it gave me a good chuckle at 3:30 am while I dying a slow boring death at work.

Oh, you can tell your hubby it's okay. I would not have told you guys the story if I didn't think everybody would get a good laugh out of it. :thumbsup2

Sounds to me like you guys have some pretty interesting tales to tell also. :scratchin My kinda people! :goodvibes

Really enjoyed your water trike tale! :lmao: Had me LOL! Thanks for the warning. Looking forward to tomorrow's(??) installment!

So glad you enjoyed it!

I'm working on the next tale now!

 BAD CRAB, BAD CRAB!!!!!!

Glad you like the piccys and I'm so happy I was able to cheer you up at 3:30 in the morning. I used to have a job working late at night also so I know what ya mean about dying a slow death at work. :goodvibes

Okay so moving on we had decided to go back in the water for the rest of our day on the island. Let me remind you again that DH was telling me to wear my water shoes because of the sea grass but I had insisted I would be fine so I didn't.

(After all I had already been in the water and nothing bad happened the first time)

So off we go and DH starts taking photos of some of the life forms he finds in the grass.

First off was the sea urchin!

http://

http://

Then we found this guy and I can't remember what they are called but he got stepped on just as we got ready to take his picture. :sad2:

http://

And then we found this star fish. They are gorgeous on the island and huge.

http://

Then I took the camera and snapped a few pics.

http://

http://

http://

So in between my picture taking (which as you can see are never as good as DH) the next "Incident" happened.

It goes something like this.......

DH and I are standing there in the water and having a conversation :chat: about how pretty the place is when this little itty bitty I mean seriously tiny wave (and I use the word wave loosely) comes and pushes me back about a foot in the water. No big deal, right? WRONG!!!!!!!!

I put my foot down and yell "OUCH" ABOUT A ZILLION TIMES. DH who is about 3 feet away from me just kinda looks at me like what's your problem figuring I just did something stupid like always.

After jumping and skipping around on my good foot for about 10 seconds or so, he finally comes over to inspect the problem. To anybody on the shore it must have looked like I had been attacked by something in the water.

Upon inspection (which I must tell you is not an easy thing to do when it involves the bottom of your foot and you are in neck high water and trying to balance on one leg while raising the other foot to eye level) CAN YOU SAY CIRCUS LOOKING FREAKS IN THE WATER! :thumbsup2

Anyway DH finally grabs my foot and nearly drowning me, tells me that I have thorn type looking things imbedded all over the place. He tries unsucessfuly to remove them but they are pretty far down under the skin so he gives up. After I'm back to a normal standing position I start looking around for the culprit of my injury. Not finding anything in site, I declare on my own that it was probably one of those stupid sea urchins that I stepped on. (Refer back to the picture at the beginning of this installment for clarification if you don't remember what they look like)

So the pain in my foot lasted for about 20 seconds and then I didn't really feel anything. GOOD SIGN OR BAD! :scratchin
It started to swell a bit but not really bad or anything. DH was getting worried and really wanted me to go to the first aid and get it looked at just in case. I of course was like it's okay, no big deal I'm not gonna die or anything lets just enjoy the rest of the day. Hubby wasn't buying my plea and he was insisting that we get out of the water so he could look at my foot properly.

FINE! So we start walking back to the shore and we get about 10 feet before I realize it kinda hurts to walk on my foot. DUH!!!! :rolleyes1

Anyway as I'm standing there trying to figure out how to get back to shore because limping in the ocean is not an easy task folks, I loose it again. I find the situation just as hysterical as the water trikee. Off I go...... :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

In between laughing and wiping the tears out of my eyes I can hear DH yelling at me for not wearing my water shoes like he told me too, and how could I think this was so funny when it could really be something bad in my foot. There was more he said but this is a family board..........

Ah, how I love my hubby so.........

Continued in next post everybody.

So hubby has the bright idea to give me a piggy back ride back to the shore. I of course think this is a great idea and lotsa fun. Here are some pictures. (notice how DH does not look that happy) :lmao:

http://

http://

Anyway the piggy back ride only lasted for a bit because much like limping in the water it's not easy to do this either. I finally tip toed my way out very slowly. As we exited the water there was a couple sitting near the water's edge and the gentlemen looks at me and says "Did you have a sea incident"
I laugh as I tell him what happened and hubby just shakes his head at me. So I limp up to the chairs which are not our chairs because as all of this was going on in the water we have drifted down the beach and are a bit aways from our spot. DH tries to inspect my foot but now it has a good amount of sand attached to it so he can't see much, so we take two chairs down to the water so I can rinse off.

This is the foot in question......It didn't occur to us to take a picture of the actual injury, I don't know why.

http://

Me inspecting my foot......

http://

Me after inspecting it and deciding it's no big deal.....

http://

Then I decided to just sit back and enjoy my view for a bit and take some more pictures. (see the guy in the backround, he is the one who asked about my sea incident)
