Our first trip and our honeymoon at Disney World, what could go wrong?

i admit it i am a trip report junkie but this one is so fun because i know nothing about the disney cruise line, i know i 'd love to go someday but other than that nada. so i am so excited for updates. great job::yes::

Great trip report! It is so sad that you were sick! But, you seemed to handle it like a trooper.

I can't wait to read the rest!

I can imagine it being rather crowded, especially with a lot of kids on the ship. I'd love to go on the Disney Wonder but not sure how much I actually would like a cruise :) But I do love your pictures.

O.k..so I am LOVING your TR and the pictures!!! I'm sorry that you had a terrible time during the safety drill. And it's rather unfortunate when you get people who can't understand English---makes it that much worse!! Oh well, at least you got through it :) And I'm hoping you had an amazing time.

Ya know whats funny, I swear there were more adults on our cruise then kids. I almost think the adults like the cruise better. :) I think everybody who loves Disney should go on the cruise at least once in there lifetime. I highly doubt you would end up regretting it.

I'm so glad you like all my pictures, sometimes I feel like I'm putting in too many. :goodvibes

I'm loving your TR. Great pictures.:thumbsup2

Thank You, Thank You!!!! I aim to please. :)

Hiya!

Just spent the last hour or so reading your TR from the beginning. How awesome so far. You are hilarious, and had me laughing out loud many times =)

First of all.. CONGRATULATIONS on your recent nuptials! Your photos are simply gorgeous, and I love the fact that you had your wedding on Halloween. Your dress is fabulous! I love different colored wedding dresses.

I cannot believe that little snot on the TTA. What a rude little monster! His is coming to him.. that's for sure. And that lady with her rude comment to you. Seems like she was the one who needed the pot... hehe. What an uptight bleep!

Tell your hubby that he is an awesome picture taker. I love the Epcot globe pictures at night. Awesome!

I'm glad you ended up feeling better.. after such a rough start. That must've been so draining both physically and emotionally. But you marched through like a trooper :)

You mentioned about sitting side by side on Splash. I had to go over to my fridge and look at our ride photo from it. We're sitting with DBF behind me... same as in DL. Ehhh? Also, I totally agree with the Pirates comment. I felt that WDW's Pirates was awkward too. DL's is way better in that department. I think the boats are just too small on WDW's version, and it almost felt cramped, know what I mean?

Me and DBF are located in the Bay Area, and are planning to head down to DL for my Birthday in April (during my spring break.) I think you and DH should tag along for the trip, being that you're so close and all. LOL. Plus you seem like cool people :) Okay.. now I just sound like a stalker. But it's not everyday you get to meet people who share your love of Disney!

Okay.. now that I've written you a novel, hehehe. Can't wait to hear more about your cruise!

Hello :wave2: and Welcome.

I'm so glad you find my TR interesting and amusing, I love that!

DH and I have had some interesting experiences so far in the TR but there are some more coming up. ::yes::

I did end up feeling better on the cruise actually, I was feeling great except for still being a bit tired. Maybe it was that carribean air.

And yes I did feel cramped on WDW's Pirates, among other things. Just wasn't feeling the ride at all. :sad2:

I told my hubby that you liked his photography and he was flattered. Wait till you see some of the other pics from the cruise.

So ya wanna hear something funny.....My Birthday is in April too, on the 8th to be exact...:cool1: And I was already planning on going to Disneyland for it. :thumbsup2 Soooooo maybe we will be able to meet up! Isn't that just Pixie Dust for ya. pixiedust:

Anyway are you on myspace or facebook by any chance? I am so look for me if you are. Myspace is kissssthekitttty, profile name is Kat and on facebook it's Kathleen in Pico Rivera.

More coming up on the cruise soon.

Great reports & thanks for including some wedding photos

:welcome: Thank you for reading.

So DisneyLand made your love strong??? You seem made for each other.. Good.

Hello. :wave2: I wouldn't say Disneyland made our love strong, I think the fact that we have known each other for so long and the fact that we have always cared about each other made our love strong. Disneyland just happened to be the first gathering we had together after a long time apart and we realized there were still feelings for each other on that day. Of course it doesn't hurt that we both love Disney, that is something we get to enjoy and share together. :)

wow, I wonder why they didn't just take that blue area around the pool and make the entire pool bigger? is this the adult pool?

I'm loving the cruise part of the report too! I have never done one but dream of doing it someday! and I agree, the stateroom looks ok for two people and I probably wouldn't pay extra for a bigger one, besides, on a cruise who wants to be in your room? You should be out on deck looking at the ocean, relaxing with a drink in your hand or doing activities!

That is the adult pool and I have no idea why they wouldn't want the pools to be bigger. It's now some kinda Disney Cruise mystery. :scratchin

There is lots more coming up for the cruise portion of this TR. I really hope you get to go on the cruise someday, YOU WILL LOVE IT!

i admit it i am a trip report junkie but this one is so fun because i know nothing about the disney cruise line, i know i 'd love to go someday but other than that nada. so i am so excited for updates. great job::yes::

Hello :wave2:

Don't feel bad, I'm a serious TR junkie also. ;)

Lots more coming up about the cruise, I do hope you enjoy it. :goodvibes

Great trip report! It is so sad that you were sick! But, you seemed to handle it like a trooper.

I can't wait to read the rest!

Hi! Thank you for reading, so glad you are enjoying my TR.

It was very unfortunate that I got sick but it died down during the cruise and I was feeling much better, just tired alot.

Well thanks for staying with me everyone, I promise to update soon! :goodvibes

Sorry for not updating right away but I was busy with a baptism and another baptism also coming up. Anyway this next update is going to be a bit :offtopic: because we finally recieved our wedding photos and so I thought I would post some of the better ones for you to see. I wasn't very impressed with most of the photos that were taken so when I uploaded them to photobucket I played around with some and changed them to what I liked. Hopefully you guys will enjoy. :goodvibes

Oh yeah I should also mention that they are not really in any type of order either.

Okay so I left off with DH and I getting ready to go have our romantic dinner at Palo. I was so excited for this dinner and had been looking forward to it for almost a year.

http://

Our server was named Dougan and he was from Turkey. He was awesome and super friendly and fun. We had a blast talking to him about, well everything really.

DH decided he wanted to splurge on a bottle of champagne for us and I don't remember what the name of it was but it was fantastic, I could have drank the bottle myself. :rolleyes1

And the bread that they give you is super yum, yum.

http://

And we ordered an appetizer that had some small pieces of cheese and meats that was so good. I wish I had written everything down but I didn't think of that at the time. At least I got pictures though.

http://

This was hubby's meal, he loved it.

http://

This was my meal and of course you can see it was salmon. I also would remember my meal because it was the biggest piece of salmon I have ever had served to me at a dinning establishment. You can't really tell in the picture but trust me, it was huge.

http://

This was my dessert which was very, very sweet and so I ended up not finishing the whole thing, but still it was yummy.

http://

This was hubby's desert, have no idea what it was and I don't remember if he liked it or not.

http://

So after dessert DH and I were seriously stuffed, I mean nothing else was going to get in our bellies that evening. Our server Dougan overheard us talking about being so full so he came back to us with these drinks that almost look like shots. I can't remember what he called them but I know they had some kind of alchohol in it and for me that was the last thing I needed after the bottle of champagne. Anyway Dougan told us that the drink helps soothe your tummy and makes the food digest easier and faster. I tried a sip of it but I just couldn't drink it down. It tasted alright but I was just too full so DH drank both of them. This is what it looked like.

http://

Then out of the blue he brings this out to us.

http://

Dougan said there was supposed to be a little cake with it but since DH and I were so full he told the kitchen to just give us the berries and sauce.

It took everything we had to find the room to get those in our bellies and it wasn't even that much. Of course they were super yummy and the sauce on them was just to die for.

So before we had Dougan roll us to the exit, we had this picture taken with him.

http://

He was so cool, we couldn't have asked for a better waiter. He went the extra mile to make sure we had a great evening and wonderful dinner.

Oh and this is the picture the ship photographer took of us.

http://

So we debated after dinner to go and enjoy some of the evening activities on board but we were both so full we just wanted to cuddle up and digest so we headed back to our stateroom to relax for the rest of the evening.

Back in the room we got into more comfy clothes and watched finding nemo on TV and just relaxed. For us it was the perfect end to our first day on board.

Coming up next: Our day in Nassau and what a pretty horrible day it was. (At least for the beginning of the day)

Don't stop NOW!! I was on a roll to do a big read, lol! Loved your pics and Palo report, Kat. Thanks for sharing. Guess my head should be on a pillow at this hour, anyway. Looking forward to your next update.

Oh you are going to love the cruise, it's truly amazing. Maybe some pixie dust pixiedust: will come your way and you won't have to wait 2 years to go. If it makes you feel better I have to wait until Oct. 2010 before I get to cruise again. :)

I love your wedding photos!!! Where did you get married at? Just curious b/c I saw a rollercoaster :)

Also I'm loving your pictures of the cruise----hoping that you post more when you're able to. You know me, I'm patient.

Thank you! :goodvibes We actually got married at Knotts Berry Farm. They have a chapel available for weddings and since the park was transformed to Knotts Scary Farm for Halloween we thought it was perfect.

I'm working on an installment tonight for you with lots more pictures. :thumbsup2

SORRY! Ya know when ever I start typing away and get rolling myself, DH comes in and interupts me and then I stop what I'm doing and never get back to it. I swear he does it on purpose. So now I'm only going to work on the TR when he's not around. ;)

Love your wedding pics. You two look so cute together.:cloud9:

Awwww thanks! :goodvibes

Kat..I LOVE your wedding pictures..you are so beautiful and that looks so good on you. I figured it was an amusement park with the rollercoaster but didn't realize which one. I've had opportunities to go to Knotts but just haven't. Thanks for more pictures...I have really enjoyed seeing them and following your TR :)

Okay so we got up really early because we had a shore excursion planned, we were going to do the Blackbeards Snorkel and Stingray Excursion. I was really excited about this because I love stingrays. So we got ready, packed our day bag and headed up to have some breakfast real quick. Now keep in mind that we had an inside stateroom so we did not feel the temp outside, so we had no idea what to expect. Well when we emerged onto Deck 9 I all about gasped for breath, I had no idea it was going to be that humid and I right away was having a hard time breathing with the asthma and all. Now rest assured I did get used to it, but it took a while. So before we headed in to eat something we snapped some photos of our first glimpses of Nassau.

http://

We finally went in for some food and I have a picture of DH's plate, he was loving his all you can eat on the ship, I don't think I have ever seen him eat so much as he did in these four days.

http://

And this is all I have for my plate, I swear I ate more food but I was in love with the Mickey waffles so I gues it was all I cared to take a picture of.

http://

So after our quick meal we headed down to Diversions to meet up with our shore excursion group. I don't have any pictures while we were waiting but we checked in and I think we only waited for about 5 min. before they had us head out. As we followed our guide we snapped some more photos.

http://

So in this last picture here, we have finally stopped walking and are waiting for the boat to come and pick us all up.

http://

It was soooooooo hot and humid. I was pouring sweat and felt like I was gonna die. There was no shade at all were they had us waiting for the boat and the sun was so bright, I felt like I was roasting my body alive.

So we waited and waited and waited, and waited some more. A lady came around selling water and the whole group of people waiting pretty much cleaned her out. Everybody was buying at least two bottles each. The tour guide moved us inside the gate area next to the boats because there was a bit of shade in there so we could get out of the sun somewhat. After about 20 min. or so, it might actually have been longer the guide announced to us that the boat for this shore excursion had broken down and so our excursion was going to be cancelled. I went from being  , :sad2: , and then finally

DH and I stood there for a few minutes trying to absorb what had just happened. I was so sad and didn't really care what we did for the rest of day at that point. One of the boats we had been standing next to was getting ready to leave for Paradise Island, were the Atlantis resort is and after talking about it we decided to head over there to look around and go to the public beach. I was still so upset about our excursion but DH got me to smile for a photo.

http://

So we headed out on our new journey and I struck up a conversation with a family sitting next to us. They told me all about Atlantis and some good stuff to check out while there and they said the public beach is nice and told us how to get there when the ferry docked.

Here are some more pictures as we headed towards our destination.

http://

http://

When we got off the boat it was a small walk towards the Atlantis resort and the road that leads to the public beach. Since we had very minimal cash on us because we were supposed to be swimming with stingrays not sightseeing we were not able to take taxi's so walking it was.

We walked around the inside of one part of the Atlantis resort for a bit, the place is huge and seems to go on forever. It's absolutely gorgeous at that resort and I would love to stay there at some point in my lifetime. We didn't take to many photos though as DH was getting tired carrying our backpack and I was still hot even inside and so nobody felt like snapping pics. :rolleyes1
We did make it over to the casino and looked around and I even played a little bit on the slots. Didn't win anything worth mentioning. DH did take pictures of these though because he is a big fan of the Chihuly (did I spell that right) sculpters.

So we left the casino and went back outside to the little shopping and food area at the resort.

After we stopped at Jamba Juice to get a pick me up and have a potty break we decided to head to the beach because at this point my legs were tired and I was getting blisters on my feet and all I wanted to do was jump in the water.

Now I'm going to have to stop this installment for now but I promise to continue in the morning. I swear, I promise.

You know me...i'm so loving this!!! Thanks for all the pictures..Can't wait for tomorrow.

I am loving your TR. Your wedding was amazing. I love all the detail at the reception and your dress is gorgeous. We hope to take a cruise for our honeymoon and I knew I picked the right man when he asked me if I wanted to go on a Disney cruise. He is not as in love with Disney as I am so we shall see!

1. Your wedding pics are so great! They are completely unique and beautiful, just like your wedding! I love the old fashioned feel to some of them.

2. Your husband's dessert at Palo looks amazing! mmmmm! What a great day, I love how you ended the day snuggling in the room watching finding nemo.

3. Wow, the ship is just gorgeous isn't it? I can't get over all of the photos of the ship!

can't wait to hear more!

Awwww thanks that is very sweet of you to say. :goodvibes

Honestly DH and I don't like Knotts Berry Farm that much, really the only time we ever go there is when it's Knotts Scary Farm for Halloween, otherwise we think it's kinda boring.

Thank you so much, it makes me so happy that everyone is liking my writing.

The wedding was pretty amazing and came out better then DH and I expected it to. We had to do all the decorations ourselves with the exception of lights and the fabrics so we had no idea how the final outlook was going to be, but all of our guest loved it so we were happy.

You will have such a great time on the cruise and I'm almost sure that your DF will be a bigger Disney fan after sailing with them. We have a friend who is not a huge Disney fan either but when he saw our pictures from the honeymoon and found out that we rebooked another cruise he actually asked if he could come with us (with a date of course). I was shocked none the less and reminded him it was Disney but he really wants to go. So have faith in your DF, he will love it. ::yes::

Thank you :goodvibes I too love the old fashioned look for some of the photos, I thought it fit our wedding theme perfectly.

DH did like his desert at Palo, everything was just amazing about that place and we are anxiously awaiting getting back there.

The ship is beautiful, down to every last little detail. We felt compelled to keep taking pictures of it from every different angle. And I still have more coming up. :goodvibes

I'm sorry that your excursion got cancelled :( I know you were looking forward to it. Hoping you liked Atlantis--I've only seen it from the air--after we flew out of Fort Lauderdale, we headed out that way to come home--at least I think it was Atlantis ;)

Looking forward to more pictures and TR
