Our first trip and our honeymoon at Disney World, what could go wrong?

http://

I really, really wanted to get a picture inside the phone booth but the guy in there was not leaving any time soon. I had already been standing there for 20
min. when I finally told DH to just take the picture of me next to it instead.

http://

Then it was off to Canada. I was sooooo tired at this point and my feet had been killing me. We thought about going and watching the movie in Canada but then I remembered that it was standing only, so I decided against it. Talk about lazy huh? I pretty much went and found a nice bench to sit on and just soak up the action around me (I love to people watch) while DH went and browsed some shops. Here I am on my bench, I think I was seriously contemplating how I was going to get up enough energy to continue walking.

http://

Besides the picture of me on the bench this was the only other picture we have from this pavillion.

http://

And of course we didn't try any food from here either. So we headed out of the Canada pavillion which was extremely busy and very crowded at this time. I told DH I was starving and really wanted to rest my feet for a bit so we started looking on the map at food options. I figured eating in the Showcase at a restaurant would be out since everything would probably be booked so we decided to go over to the Coral Reef restaurant and try our luck with a walk up reservation.

Coming up next: Do we get to eat at Coral Reef?

You look EXHAUSTED on the bench...I know it's a LOT of walking at Epcot as well as MK and I've only been to DHS once and don't remember much about it.

I really like the architechure of the UK. I especially like the Twinings Tea Cottage, it just seems so cozy.

Hi!

I was in love with the entire World Showcase, the architechure throughout the entire place is just amazing. But the UK pavillion does hold the special place in my heart. :goodvibes

Oh your telling me! I was beyond exhausted, I felt like I had been walking for a year at least. By the time our honeymoon was over I could barely walk anymore and my ankles had swelled up. I officially needed a vacation from our honeymoon. :rotfl:

I can imagine that will happen to us too :) But I don't mind it...we'll be there and having a wonderful time

So I left off with DH and I leaving the Showcase at Epcot and walking over to the Coral Reef restaurant to see if they had any openings for dinner that night. Thankfully they did but it was for 8:45pm and it was only 6 something at that moment and I was starving. Well after much deliberation we decided to take the reservation and try to find a munchie for me and go amuse ourselves till dinner time. Well of course instead of finding the starving girl some food we headed over to The Seas with Nemo and Friends since we didn't get a chance to ride it yet.

http://

http://

I love Bloat and Pearl so I had to have a picture with them.

http://

http://

We both thought the ride was really cute and enjoyed it, I liked that you sit in clam shells. After the ride we walked around a bit and took some more photos. I spent alot of time watching the dolphins because I love them and they happened to be very active on this evening. I tried to get pictures but they swam by to fast. We didn't get upstairs to see the Manatees, that will have to be next trip.

We then decided to head over to the Living with the Land ride and Soarin since we had missed both of these rides as well. We arrived just as they had closed the Living with the land ride for the night so we walked over to Soarin and the wait time was an hour. We had time to waste before dinner so I was ready to get in line but then DH reminded me of my aching feet and did I really want to stand in line for a ride that we have been on many times at Disney's California Adventure back home and that I also was not that fond of it because I have a fear of heights. I really like the ride regardless of the height part but he was right, it was not worth it to stand in line when I could just go and relax until dinner. So we left and headed back towards the front of the park so I could find something to munch on and do some shopping. On the way that was when I spotted the character spot, ya know that building that they are all in. I didn't even no anything about it, (note to self to actually read the map you get when entering the park). And I of course spotted my wonderful Donald Duck so I was off and running with DH in tow. The line inside was fairly long but moving very well and I was so excited to see all the characters that I didn't even mind.

First up MICKEY MOUSE

http://

http://

Then it was MINNIE

http://

http://

And after Minnie it was my baby DONALD DUCK. Now just so you know when looking at the pictures, Donald was hilarious. I told him right away that he was my favorite so he started pushing DH away and only paying attention to me, you can actually see him push DH in one of the pictures, then they got into an "argument" about me belonging to DH and not Donald, it was adorable. Finally we got a nice picture with DH in it. This was by far my all time favorite character interaction ever.

Continued, I reached my pic limit......

I've never had much of a chance with interaction w/ the Characters!! But I hope this time to get a chance. How do you find them? Or is it just luck of the draw kind of thing?

After our Duck encounter it was off to see DH's favorite GOOFY

http://

http://

http://

After Goofy DH and I exited the character greeting spot and I was on a character high, I felt like I was floating on air. We both agree that it was the coolest greeting ever, all the characters performed at top notch and they were truely having fun, you could tell. I had completely forgotten how hungry I was and how much my feet hurt, that's how happy I was. So even though we had spent a good amount of time with the characters we still had time to spare before dinner so we ducked inside some stores and did a bit of shopping. At around 8:30 pm we decided to head back over to the Coral Reef restaurant and check in and hope we would be seated. We ended up not getting seated right away so we went outside to wait and we took some more pictures.

http://

http://

Finally we got seated at around 9pm. It was a good seat and fairly close to the tank so we could watch the fishies. It was freezing in there though and that made dinner kinda uncomfortable since our noses kept freezing up then running. It was worth it in the end because the food was yummy! We really enjoyed it and plan to visit this place again on our return trip.

The food was awesome.......very, very, very yummy!

I was so hungry I had most of my food gone before I remembered to take a pic of it.

We finished dinner at around 10pm and headed outside to a very chilly night and very empty park. Got to the front gates and bid Epcot a farewell, DH and I would not be returning to this park again on this visit. :sad1:

We headed up to the empty monarail station and waited about 5min for it to arrive then spent the short trip back to the Poly taking a nap and resting our feet. We made it back to the car and headed back to the hotel and climbed into bed at around midnight. Neither one of us could sleep though because our feet were throbbing so bad. We vowed to make sure we bring epsom salt on our next trip. So we both popped some pain killers and finally fell asleep.

Up next we check out of the POFQ and get aboard the most beautiful ship I have ever seen.

kat, great report so far! It's so romantic... my hubby and I got married at disneyworld 2007 so it's bringing back a lot of sweet memories of my own!

btw, I LOOOOOVE DONALD also! He's my favorite of all the main characters and I NEVER see him in the parks! You're so lucky you got to see him twice!

I can't wait to hear more about your trip! Your DH and you are such a cute couple! I can tell you are totally head over heels in love!

thanks!

I hardly ever see the characters at Disneyland so this was a real treat for me. WDW has alot more spots set up for the characters so people in general have a better chance of seeing them. For most of our trip I just went to the spots I new they would be at and for the rest it was luck of the draw, we would just stumble upon them.

I'm glad you are still enjoying the TR, got plenty more coming up for you!

Thank you so much! I'm glad our trip is reminding you of yours. I wish we could have been married at Disneyworld but that was so not in our buget. I keep telling DH though that we are going to renew our vows at some point and it will be at Disneyworld, he of course just keeps shaking his head at me. :rotfl:

DONALD is the best, he is # 1 :) I was very fortunate to have run into him several times on the trip. When you go back he for sure is at the Epcot character station and at Camp Mickey and Minnie in Animal Kingdom, go there and you will be able to see him.

More on the trip is coming right up so stay with me. :goodvibes

Hi everyone who is reading along :wave2: sorry for the delay, I have been spending more time reading on the boards then writing my TR. It's just so hard to tear myself away from everybody's great stories. :goodvibes Anyway I'm focused again for now and ready to start.

It is now Nov. 9th Sunday and we are getting ready to go on our first Disney Cruise. DH and I decided to ask for a late checkout which they said was fine so we slept in until 9am and then took our time getting ready and repacked. Surprisingly I was feeling really good this morning, I hadn't woken up with an asthma attack during the night and my coughing was down to a minimal sporatic hacking instead of constant. Originally we had planned to get to the port early in the morning but in the end we decided to take our time and not rush. After we finished packing and loaded up the car, we headed over to the resort lobby to look in the gift shop since we hadn't done that yet and I was sure I had seen a Donald Duck shirt in there. I was sad when we walked out of the room, I really liked the POFQ and hope to stay there again some time.

We walked around the shop for ever looking at stuff and the place isn't even that big. DH was eyeing a Mickey watch they had in there but he wasn't sure he wanted to spend $100 on it or not. (He collects watches and has all sorts of them mostly Disney ones) I finally picked out my Donald shirt, don't have a picture of it but the front is his angry face and it says I'm not mad at you, I'm just naturally crabby. It's perfect for me :rolleyes1 It goes great with my grumpy sweatshirt, do you see a patern here? :rotfl2: NAH, J/K I'm really a pleasant person, really I am. I just happen to like all the angry, grumpy or evil characters. :lmao: So we payed for our stuff, minus the watch and DH had to take a picture of this as we left the gift shop. He said there was something completely hysterical about this and after thinking about it, I have to agree.

http://

What made it so funny was the tote bag that had been hung up right next to all the booze, it was almost screaming that they go hand in hand.

So we get in the car and drive out the gates of POFQ and I'm really sad now :sad1: but I perk up when I realize I'm about to be on the Disney Wonder. :hyper:

I can't wait to read more!!! I'd also like your take on DL and WDW!!! I like both but have only been to DL once!!

I love your TR! So sorry about the ignorant woman at Epcot.

Hey, if you want anything English sent over let me know :goodvibes We met with some friends we had made online a couple of years ago (we're from England and they were from New York) and the little girl wanted to know if I was related to the Queen because of my accent - bless her!

Right away I started taking pictures to amuse me because it was nothing but endless road and just driving, driving, driving. :drive: Thankfully there wasn't any traffic on the way to Port Canaveral and it took us only 45min or so to get there. Florida is a beautiful place and we got to see some pretty sights, it made me not want to come back to California and the always congested freeways and billions of people. Here are some photos from the drive.

http://

http://

http://

And this was my breakfast on the way also, well this and some grapes. We arn't the healthiest people are we?

http://

Pretty soon we saw this sign and I was getting really excited.

http://

And then we see water and that can only mean we are getting closer, and I'm freaking out now.....:hyper:

http://

AND THEN IN THE DISTANCE, WE SPOT HER.......AND SHE IS GORGEOUS!!!!!!!

http://

GETTING CLOSER!!!!!!!

http://

AND THEN WE HAVE OFFICIALLY ARRIVED!!!!!!

http://

http://

So we head into the first check point and I'm just amazed at the level of security they have at the port, it's awesome. I love how they make sure you are infact a guest on the Disney Cruise before letting you into the area. Talk about feeling extremely safe and secure.

So that was the last photo I took until we got inside the building. We pulled up next to the porters and before I could even get out of the car one was right there taking the luggage out of the trunk. It was pretty funny because he was so quick and DH and I were trying to tell him that not everything in the trunk was going but this guy was just ready to load it all up. They are pretty efficient there arn't they? ::yes:: So after dividing everything up and getting the right bags out of the car, my DH, myself and the porter all about cracked up right there because the trunk ended up looking like a Disney store had exploded in it. I kid you not there was like 15 Disney bags all full of souveners and stuff that we just threw back there and we hadn't realized just how much it was until that moment. Of course then it occured to me, how the heck are we going to get all this stuff home? :scratchin We got back in the car and headed over to the parking lot and $60 later we parked the car and then DH decided to "TALK" about all the stuff in the trunk. :sad2:
I was like, "OH NO" your not going to bring that up right now and I think my tone and the look on my face ended that conversation pretty quick. Love you baby was the last thing I said. :love2:

Coming up later.....Just how long is that line to get into the building?

I can't wait to read more!!! I'd also like your take on DL and WDW!!! I like both but have only been to DL once!!

I'm not sure how to answer you on my take of DL and WDW. I mean DL is the original park so right there it makes it more special then WDW and I personally grew up going to DL all the time so it will forever have a special place in my heart. WDW is just in a league of it's own, I mean it's truely spectacular and very, very beautiful. Having the land in Florida makes the parks ten times better then DL which as you know is just stuck in the middle of busy Anaheim city. Sure they did a great job of making you feel like your in a different world but at the end of the day, the landscapping and the vast area in WDW makes you really feel like your in your own little world. As far as rides are concerned, it's a toss up because there are some rides at DL that are by far better then at WDW and in return some rides at WDW are better then DL. I will have to say that most of the shows are better at WDW except for Fantasmic, I think ours is way better even though it's shorter.

Anyway, I hope that helps, it was the best explanation I could think of. Either way it's Disney so both parks are amazing and I'm fortunate to be able to go to Disneyland when ever I want to and also get DH to take trips to WDW now because he loves it as much as me. :)

I love your TR! So sorry about the ignorant woman at Epcot.

I'm soooo glad you love my TR. I know alot of people are reading it but not alot comment on it so sometimes I wonder.......

That's so adorable about the little girl, she must have been precious. :)

Thank you so much for offering to send me over something if I want it, that is very sweet of you. I would of course rather send myself over to you. :rotfl2: But I will keep it in mind and let you know!

Hugs

Finally caught up...again. I'm not sure how time gets away from me , it just does.:rotfl2:

DM and I ate at Coral Reef, on our trip, and we both loved it. Of course when it was time to order I had to say, "DM stop watching/taking pictures of the fish and order your meal." and when the food arrived there was a discussion of actually eating the food before it got cold. (Od course this was after I told her she couldn't wander the restaraunts taking pictures until after she'd ordered.):lmao:

When I was reading about you getting to DCL I was getting excited for you.:goodvibes Can't wait to read all about your adventures on the high seas.pirate:

Just one of those reading your trip report and enjoying it very much! Popped in tonight, looking for your next installment...anxious to hear all about your experiences with the DCL...and LOTS of pics, please:wave2:

Oh I like DL too and I've been to both. DL is like smack dab in the middle of a MAJOR road/highway--there isn't any "mystique" when you enter the parking lot...not like WDW where it's 43 freakin square miles. Then again, like you said DL is the original and not a lot of room for growth. Whereas WDW there is STILL land around (from what I know of). I like both parks b/c the rides are completely different.

Can't wait to see pictures of the cruise---if you have any that is.
