Well, we got a whopping 4-5 inches of snow last night (at least that's what is on my deck). It is crushed down to about 1 inch of "crust" on the side streets. Regular roads are perfectly fine. But, they closed school for the day. That's okay with me I guess.

We are having Belgian Waffles with strawberries and whipped cream for breakfast! Then I'm going to try out a new shortbread cooking this afternoon. I guess I'll gain 10 lbs today.

I was supposed to go to work today and attend our Annual Bowling Party. But, I'm out of that!! Tried to get the kids interested in driving up there and going to the bowling alley but they aren't interested in "bowling with a bunch of old people" as my 10-year-old so eloquently put it. I think I severely ration his X-Box today for that remark! :teeth:

We ended up with about an inch of snow rather than the 6-8 they were calling for....school openings are delayed for an hour which means my first grader does't go to school until 10:20 today!! Those delayed openings are a nightmare for working parents!!

3" on the ground here and not even a delay, to my DS10's disappointment. Mine, too, I admit. I kind of like the way a snow day makes up all slow down and take it easy.

Main roads are clear but side roads are a little icy. Guess I'll be able to get out and grocery shop after all. Darn!

Oh, I agree with you. I was praying for either the school to be open or closed. I HATE the 2 hour delays and it really messes up me getting into work--usually I have to end up taking off because I'm in a carpool. My son's normal day starts at 8:00, so on a 2 hour delay he doesn't go until 10:00 a.m. Back when he was in public school, their normal start time was 9:30 a.m. and on a 2-hour delay it was just soooooo late.

We were supposed to get 1-3'', but now they're calling for less than in an inch. It hasn't even started snowing yet :guilty: It's December, in NH, it should be snowing
I'm actually glad classes weren't canceled (one of my profs was thinking they might :confused3 ). If they had been the library would be closed and I sort of need the library for that paper I have to write by tomorrow :rolleyes1

we were supposed to wake up to 2-4".

not even a dusting.

way to blow it all out of proportion weathermen!
I swear...*I* could do a better job of predicting snow then these yutzes...it's all a 50/50 guess!

We ended up with about 4 inches--must have snowed a fair amount after we went to bed. Not much on the roads, the 4" were on the deck. Plenty on the cars, but I don't have plans to go anywhere. Oops, my DH had to go to MVA in about an hour to get a clear title on the van so I can go buy my new van that's sitting at the dealer. Maybe I should get the snow off the van so that he can drive it, do you think?

We were hoping for a snow day here too, but it just didn't amount to as much as expected. Oh well, maybe next time
