Our First Live Trip Report

wonderful update!!!
and beautiful pictures!!!

and i agree with you...i HATE captain EO...
haven't seen it this time yet, but i saw it years ago when it was first at epcot and counted the minutes until it was over...
he was extraordinarily talented , but EO doesn't showcase it at all in my opinion...

Enjoyed your updates, though we all enjoyed Captain EO.
That is the beauty of WDW there is someone for everyone's taste :goodvibes

Another brilliant update with more delicious desserts ... my DS is really looking forward to Captain EO as he is a fan of MJ music ... hope he is not disappointed. I saw it years ago at Disneyland Paris, but can't really remember what it was about. A great day by the sounds of it :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Wow - those desserts look amazing :goodvibes

Looks like you had another action packed day and got a lot done. Great going to do TT and Soarin' twice each!

Hope you enjoy a great day at Hollywood Studios :thumbsup2

Did you go to the Outback on the 192 by Formosa Gardens? If so, just carry on along the 192 for a few more sets of lights and you can't miss the Ale House. It's on the right, just before you get to Publix. Sweet Tomatoes, Olive Garden, Longhorn are on the left, by Target. So...just to be clear, take a left at the top of Old Lake Wilson, and head west on the 192, away from the I4.

Thank you Peebee. Now I know which way I'm going. We drove that way but thought it wasn't that far up - should have kept going!

Have a good day everyone.

x

Hi All,

Hollywood Studios was sooooo busy and so hot today! We made the fatal mistake of not checking the opening time the night before. We assumed a 9am opening, we arrived at about 8.40 - there didn't seem to be so many people around and then we realised.... an 8am opening! This messes up our fastpass routine for TSM and Star Tours! In a nutshell our fastpass return time for Star Tours was 4.15pm!!!!! We managed to queue and get a fastpass for TSM. The queue was about 20 minutes at our arrival time but later in the day was 1hr 40!!. This coupled with the fact that it was a Star Wars weekend made for a very uncomfortable park day but we still had lots of fun! Didn't manage ToT, RnR coaster, Mermaid (yes I love this little show!), Indiana Jones, Muppets (DH loves this little show!). We'll go back again a bit later in the holiday. We managed to stay for the parade which we really enjoyed - never seen this one before and I quite liked it as it's not as long as the MK one.

Unanimously we voted TSM our favourite ride of the day. It's lots of fun.:goodvibes

And we found The Ale House - thank you - along with all the others you mentioned.... Olive Garden, Longhorne etc. We really enjoyed the meal at Ale House but sorry I forget to take pics.

A relaxing day at Seaworld today.

Pics are mainly of the parade so not so exciting.

Sounds like a good day - despite bigger crowds.

I always enjoy SeaWorld so I hope you are all having a good time :thumbsup2

Are you enjoying your villa or are you too busy to spend a few hours relaxing there?

Are you enjoying your villa or are you too busy to spend a few hours relaxing there?

We will be enjoying our first villa day today - more about that later.

Yesterday (Memorial Day) we went to Seaworld. We chose Seaworld because the park is large and wouldn't feel busy and crowded even if it was! DH planned all the show times so that we would have minimal walking - the 7 year old doesn't cope well with all the walking in the heat. Lets just say by the afternoon she gets a tiny bit grumpy! We preferred the Dolphin Show (Blue Horizons) over Shamu - there is so much to watch although I do like Shamu when the crowd get soaked! We didn't do any rollercoasters as they are a bit wild for the girls - with the exception of Shamu Express! Manta looks fantastic - we will definitely go back to ride it at some point.

DH had the objective of returning to the park in the evening to watch the evening show of Clyde and Seymour in which they make fun of the other Seaworld shows. I have to say I wasn't keen as I was concerned about energy levels of DD7. He was insistent though as it was the only night show for the whole of our stay. Has anybody ever watched this show? If you haven't and it fits with your plans you must see it - it is so funny! (assuming you've seen the other Seaworld shows in the day). DH had seen it about 20 years ago in San Diego but just remembered that it was really funny. We also saw the evening show of Shamu (Shamu rocks) - it was OK, just more of the same really.

We ate at Black Angus Steakhouse on the 192. We had a discount coupon so thought it was good value. Yummy Pork Chops!

Just a few pictures from Seaworld. I was playing with my camera a bit taking photos of Manta.

Today we are having a relaxing day. It's my birthday on Monday (6th) so time to get DH to buy me some presents! We may go shopping for a couple of hours later. If we go to Mall at Millennia we'll eat at The Cheesecake Factory. We are going to La Nouba this evening. Not sure where we're going on my birthday - I have a reservation for Jiko but we also have discount vouchers for Texas de Brazil. Might try to book a character breakfast but probably left it too late. Any other suggestions?

Photos from yesterday at Seaworld :goodvibes

Another great day - I couldn't keep my DD & DH off Manta - they kept coming off & going back on :)

Looking forward to more.....

Just caught up with the great trip report. i can't believe how much staying power your two girls have got. My two kids give up early afternoon and have to go back for a swim before turning back out on the evening. Have a great birthday and looking forward to more.

Yes they manage quite well. I have to stay though we leave the parks at about 4pm, or at least try to, go back for a swim and then go out for food quite early - they are pooped after eating! Last evening was the first late evening and we will probably start employing more of your tactics now. It is so nice seeing the parks lit at night.

Awww, such a shame about the opening at DHS! Still, it seemed you got quite a lot done, even with the crowds.

SeaWorld sounded like a more relaxing day and good on your DH getting the show times in the correct order :thumbsup2 I didn't even know about the evening Clyde and Seymour show! I adore the day time show, so I bet this is something I'd really like. We'll have to look into that when we eventually head back there one day!

great update and photos! We have seen that Clyde and Seymour show as well and it is so funny!! but its only on in the summer months which is a shame.

Sorry for the delay in the updates. I'll start where I left off from Monday. We went shopping at The Mall of Millennia, only for a couple of hours, the girls can't handle much longer. Didn't buy anything - nothing inspired me for my birthday! We ate at The Cheesecake Factory. As others have reported the choice is enormous along with the portions. DH had the lunch size portion of Meat Loaf and it was still huge! My burger was delicious. We then had Cheesecake to go, took them back to the house and then went straight to La Nouba. We enjoyed the show, some of the performers were amazing. At certain parts of the performance you didn't know where to look as there was so much happening on the stage. After the show we had a quick wonder around Downtown Disney then back to the house for cheesecake!

Wednesday 1st June - Islands of Adventure

Our first trip to Universal this holiday and a little apprehensive as we knew that trying to ride the new Harry Potter ride would be a challenge. We arrived at about 8.45 and walked straight to it. The wait was 30 minutes so we joined the queue. We had to do a parent swap as DD7 is not tall enough to ride. I find simulator rides a fine line between being great fun and making me feel ill! I'm afraid this fell into the latter - too much simulation and not enough normal movement for me. Having tried the 4 main simulator rides from all the parks - I prefer Spiderman and Soarin out of all of them, even the new Star Tours falls into 'it makes me feel ill' category! Give me a rollercoaster like Hulk any day. DD11 didn't cope at all with the ride - let's just say it didn't agree with her and the worst happened :(

We left the parks not long after as it looked like to was going to rain. And rain it did - we got soaked! We decided to have lunch at Sweet Tomotoes - very nice - and then go back to the house for a rest whilst the rain eased. We returned to Universal for about 5.20pm. We rode loads of stuff as the queues were non-existent! We then had a quick visit for the last 20 minutes of IOA and rode Spiderman and Hulk - again no queues. We then went to Hard Rock for food. The children like it there so it has become a bit of a ritual when we go to Universal. I like the food but find the music too loud - I'm obviously getting old!

Just a few photos from messing about in Citywalk and one before the heavens opened earlier in the day.

Thanks for the update - some great pics aswell.

Did cheesecake factory have a kids menu? I know they didn't used to.

Yes they do. I can't remember exactly what's on it - but I'm sure the choice was good. DD7 had Pasta with Butter and Parmesan.
