Our First Kidani Experience - Live

I think the beauty is that we have the choice of Kidani or Jambo as AKV owners. It is plus. In terms of the pool being in the front, that struck me as odd at first, but it makes sense. And I think that when the Pembe Savanna opens, part of which will run next to the pool, the pool will definitely feel like it is inside the resort.

The DHS stop needs to be covered, and the walkway to the bus should be as well. I am sure they could find a way to do this and blend it with the wonderful theming at Kidani.[/QUOTE

Has anyone brought the no roof over the HS bus stop to the DVC member satisfaction teams attention?
You are right about the Pembe savanna. Once it is open the pool area should not feel so out of place.

I plan on sending an email to member satisfaction. I really want to commend some CMs but i will also mention the bus stop. If they call me back, I will let all know what they say.

so, in the dedicated room, are there two beds in the second bedroom or a bad and couch ?

In the dedicated 2 br, there are 2 queen beds.

Thank you for this thread!! We have really enjoyed reading this thread and looking at the photos. I just made reservations this morning for a stay in Kidani Village in the fall when we go to a friend's wedding off property. This is so exciting!!

Thanks for posting the pictures-it sounds like you had a great time! Looking forward to our August visit.

Even with the slightly rocky start of being put into a dedicated 2 br instead of the lock off that we booked, we loved our stay at Kidani. The front desk was great, and handled our room switch very well and pleasantly. All of the Cms at Kidani were helpful and friendly.

The resort itself is beautiful and peaceful. The "mini Jambo-like" lobby fits the atmosphere perfectly.

Some cons:
  • the DHS bus stop is the only one not covered. I don't know why they decided to leave it that way.
  • the walkway to the buses is not covered as it is in Jambo. This would be very nice on hot days and also in the rain.
  • There need to be some shaded areas at the pool in addition to the tables with the umbrellas. I prefer to sit in the shade and do not want to tie up a table doing it.
  • When walking to the pool from the lobby, the path runs right next to a small parking lot for a bit. Some landscaping there separating the path and lot would be nice.

Pros:
  • Beautiful resort
  • bus service was excellent
  • very peaceful place. A great place to return to after a day in the parks.
  • The rooms. The 2 br was very spacious, the large balcony was great, the extra bath was invaluable.
  • The pool and water play area
  • The CMS
  • Because of the way the resort is designed, the Sunset savanna is huge
  • Although we didn't eat at Sanna, (we will on next trip) it smelled great!

In terms of the standard view, it really was fine. It is a point saver. Next trip we will have a savanna view and are so looking forward to it. BUt if we needed to save points and want that magical Kidani experience, I won't hesitate to book a standard view again.

I am happy to answer any questions.

We are thrilled to be AKV owners!

And now for the sad ride to the airport:

Ed - could you please help with a room location request?

We will need to be near the lobby and/or the pool area due to walking issues with one of our family.

Is there a best location to request? We are in a dedicated two bedroom with Savannah view.

Thanks again for all your great pictures!

I would say to request the first or second bead on the north side of the lobby. (that is to the left of the lobby if you are looking at the entrance) The third bead is closest to the pool but a bit further from the lobby.

Hope that helps. Enjoy your Kidani trip!
