Hello,

My daughter is turning 7 and we sail from Port Canaveral in March 2016 we set sail\ depart on her birthday. She is our only child so this will be all about her... That being said... My birthday and my husband's birthday are also in March so its kind of a family gift!! Is there anything special we can do for her birthday on board? And we'll we will be traveling from Nashville to Orlando and needing transportation to port caneveral... Planning on flying in the day before.... Any tips on where to stay... We are doing the 3 night cruise... Oh and what all is there that can\ should be done in port in March... Not sure if we should pack swim suits and such BC it is usually snowing in Tn in March... OK so as you can see I have NO IDEA!!!! Any advise would be appreciated!!

Thanks in advance!

First, take a breath.

One suggestion - go here:

and see if there's a cruise meet group set up for your cruise. That's where you can make contact with others on your cruise.

As to special things for birthdays, be sure to have the birthday(s) noted on your reservation. And, talk to your dining room server when you meet him/her the first night and mention the birthday. They (the servers) will sing Happy Birthday, and give the birthday girl a special birthday dessert.

You can also pick up "It's my Birthday" buttons at Guest Services once onboard.

I'd pack the swimsuits. The pool areas are a bit protected, and the weather south of the US is warmer, generally.
Another suggestion, sit back and peruse the various threads here for what others are talking about.

Transportation from MCO to port can be arranged through DCL. It costs $35.00 per person, and you pick it up at the airport the day of the cruise. You can stay at the airport Marriott (they have a great luggage pickup service where they take your checked bags from your room at the airport and hand them off to the DCL transfer people). You won't see your bags again until the show up at your room onboard.

Theres a HAPPY BIRTHDAY room decoration kit that you can order. Did this for my wife last year on a cruise right after her birthday. They had the room all decorated. We still use the large banner for other family birthdays.

You can also order a custom cake. Had one delivered (surprise) to her at one of our MDR dinners. It was another great surprise.

our DS7 loves the kids clubs and when we give him the choice between cruise or WDW he chooses the cruise. Y'all will have a blast!
