Were on final for landing at Columbus, and you just know what feeling as you are getting close to landing.. Sometimes the pilot feathers the throttle for lack of a better term, speeding up / slowing down to stay on proper approach.. Well that was happening and all the sudden you basically feel him give it the gas again and we start climbing. It was pretty breezy and rainy and lower vis, so I didnt think much of it just thought maybe something wasnt perfectly lined up and we did a go around.. Know that doesnt happen often I'm sure. After a few more minutes pilot comes on and says some issue with flaps / indicator. We go out fly around / circle for about 10 minutes and he comes back on saying they have done what they need to do to prepare for a partial flap landing and that there would be emergency equipment standing by more to check our brakes than anything else. Whoever the pilot was, did an amazing job. If he wouldnt have said anything would have known no difference. With the cross wind, the weather and the flap issue, did just a great job. Thanks to the SW pilots and crew for a job well done. I personally never was worried, I'm no pilot, but understand how it works and you could tell we landed 'different' from normal but dont know if I would have noticed it if they didnt say anything.
