We just bought a used PUP, our first camper and are totally excited about it :thumbsup2. (Its a Jayco with AC woot) We've used it a couple of times at local camprgrounds, and are excited bout longer trips. We discussed planning a trip to FW with it, and then free dining was announced so we booked a resort (hotel). I realize this may have been asked before, but I can't find any information on it. Why is free dining not available at FW for campers? I understand it may be a profit type thing, but some campsites can cost more than a value resort (and having stayed at POP I promise the pop up beds are more comfortable), so that makes me confused

First, comparing season to season the Fort is generally cheaper than a Valued. But there are times when they get very close, for sure.

Second, the Fort lets you put up to 10 people on a campsite. So if you could get a partial hookup for about $45 in the offseason (most of the summer in the partial campsites) and feed 10 people for free Disney would go broke (or drive down the dining experience and quality even lower than they already have). Full, preferred, or premium not much different. The value resorts in most rooms allow a max of only 4 people.

So I would recommend either keeping your value resort ressie or take the pop-up to the fort and skip the free dining.

Congrats on the new pop-up, BTW. I have a Jayco pop-up and love it too! :3dglasses

Thanks for the information, I hadn't taken into consideration the number of PPL per site/room situation. Was just disappointed that we couldn't take our new (to us) camper, guess I jumped the gun! Thanks again!

:thumbsup2 on the popup. Your own bed, your own towels, organize your quarters the way you like, fresh air......ah. I'd take the Fort over the Value resorts any time.
