Our first adults-only attempt to drink around the world, jan/10 - ptr

Hey there!

well talk about a small world!! You need to get a pt report going and post a picture so I know who to look out for! Have you stayed at the BW before? it's our favorite - I can't wait to hear that music playing and watch the boats coming and going!

PTR? Me? Oh I wish I had the time and the creativity. Unfortunately I don't have the natural ability to captivate an audience w/ a few sentences. I leave it to the pros!

This trip it's just Mom and I. We have a great relationship and travel really well together. Here we are in Vegas for her Bday...

My BF usually travels with me, but he can only handle WDW once every two-three years. He doesn't know it yet, but next year it's his turn :thumbsup2.

We stayed at BCV and Swan in 2008, but I've always wanted to stay at BWV. We spend a lot of time at EPCOT and the BW resort area (gotta love flying fish and Jellyrolls!), in fact I'm practically a Pro at DATW :drinking1. BWV already feels like home and I haven't even stayed there yet. Now I'm just nervous about the renovations, hope they are done by the time we get there.

Look for us! We'll be the two wild and crazies having a WAY better time than anyone else, we always make our own party :banana::banana:

I will look for you, for sure! You two shouldn't be hard to miss - you look alike! You are lucky that you get to spend some alone time with your mom and that you both travel so well together. It is so hard to find the right person/people to travel with.

I think the renovations are done out on the boardwalk itself. And we have never been to Jellyrolls, this will be our first time. I'm lovin' the fact that the kids have turned 21!

Glad to hear you have the lens situation figured out - I'd bet you won't need to change the lens (but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!)

We are staying at our favs: AKL for 3 nights (we were able to use the Public Code that just came out), and then at OKW for 4 (we have a small DVC contract covering the OKW part). We actually booked a Savanna view for the first time, so I am really looking forward to that!

I've always wanted to try AKL, but both kids are allergic to dogs and horses, and I'm just nervous of having them sleep in a room that's surrounded by animals! LOL I know that's probably silly - it's not like the animals are hanging out on the balcony. Still....I don't need allergy attacks and trips to the emergency on vacation. The grounds at OKW look lovely - so peaceful. I've always thought that 4 or 5 nights at BWV, followed by 4 or 5 nights at OKW or SSR would be a perfect vacation.

I have been going back and forth on the dining plan for months now, and I was just about ready to pull my hair out. I mean, how hard can a simple decision be - regular dining plan vs. deluxe. You'd think I was planning world peace or something the way I've agonized over this.

Anyway, yesterday took care of my indecision. I had two sit-down table service meals and omg, I was so stuffed I could barely walk. I actually had to have a nap after lunch, and then couldn't face dinner. And the funny thing is I really didn't even eat that much at lunch - the food was just kind of rich.

Anyway, I made the decision this morning - the regular dining plan it is. We will keep the additional ADRs made, and just pay OOP. Paying OOP will allow us to eat what we feel like eating, vs. feeling obligated to fill our faces because we've paid so much.

Yesterday, we got a letter from the BW advising us that the pool will be closed, but instead we can use SAB.:banana::banana: I knew that ahead of time of course, but it's nice that it's official that I have permission to use SAB! Not that I am a big swimmer when we go to WDW, but the kids have always done so, and I've been dying to try SAB. In fact, I really wrestled with the BWV vs BC or YC simply because of the pool. So this time, we get everything we wanted - the BW and SAB!

I'm now anxiously awaiting our DME package. I hope everything goes smooth with that whole experience - I kinda had to talk everyone into it vs. renting at the airport. Knowing my luck, it will take 3 hours to get to the resort, and they'll loose all our luggage until the day before we leave!

Have been flipping the idea of pre-purchasing tickets from Undercover tourist, vs. waiting and just paying at check-in. I like the idea of having only one card to carry around all day. I know we can get our park passes loaded onto our room keys if we pre-purchase, but then that's just another hold-up at checkin and I want to just get to all the fun as quickly as possible. If anyone has experience with having pre-purchased passes loaded onto their room keys - would love to hear from you. Was it a pain? or a relatively simple, smooth, quick transaction?

Today, I'm going to figure out what photography equipment I want to take. If I don't have the right bag to hold it all, Santa may need to do some quick, last-minute shopping ;)

I always buy from Undercover Tourist ahead of time. I just got a great deal on 8 day PH w/ WPFM, I think it was $28 off the gate price (gotta love mousesavers). If we want to upgrade to 10 day tickets we can do it when we get there, and it's super easy to have your tickets loaded onto your room key.

Let me know how ME works out for you ;) I think I'm just scared of what could happen, and knowing my luck.... I also like the freedom of having a rental car.

About the pool. We are staying our first two nights at CSR and the main pool will be closed too :rotfl2: What are the chances, BOTH resorts having closed pools?! At least we get to use SAB, and even more reason for the WPFM option on my tickets.

One Month!

What do you know - 2 from Winnipeg and now 1 from Thunder Bay. We are going Jan 28 to Feb 5 - man, is it ever coming fast! We stay off site at our timeshare though. So I do not have the same dining issues you do!!:goodvibes

Looking forward to hearing more about planning and your trip.
