Our February School Vacation Trip to Disney:In Sickness and In Health!

When Brenna and I got back my DH was still in bed. I decided to take Brenna to the Goofy Splash pool by our room. She loves it! She had the whole thing to herself for about 40 minutes and then another little girl came over to join in. They had a blast! While it was just Brenna and me a lady asked me if I could take her pic over by the car and Goofy. OK. I brought Brenna over to have her near me. The woman literally climbed on the car and laid on the hood!!! I was so shocked that I quickly snapped the pic and off she went! Hope it came out the way she wanted it-it was just from a disposable camera.

After Goofy I changed Brenna back into her clothes and we decided to go back to AK. Daddy was staying in bed. The poor guy. He didn't eat much except the granola bars we had in the room so I got him a fresh drink. He didn't want to eat at all. Brenna and I stopped for a snack before getting on the bus. SHe had a cookie and I got a little banana nut loaf. Of course I had half of it because her royal highness ate the rest!

We got on the bus and I realized I left her sweatshirt on the seat at the table we were eating at. Hopped back off and ran to get it. THank God it was there!

We got back to AK about 2. Brenna fell asleep on the bus, but once we got htere she perked up. We decided to see The Lion King. Another awesome show! THe sign said to get there 45 minutes early so we boogied over to Camp Minnie Mickey. We were about 10th in line.

THey let us up to building about 10 minutes after we got there. Brenna was dozing. She is one heavy girl! The sun was so warm that I think it was making her extra sleepy. WHile we were waiting, with a large group coming up behind me, Brenna announces she has to go potty! I am hoping that it is something we can hold off on, but nope "I have to poop!" she exclaims. Off we go to the bathroom and bye bye to our front row seat. As we were making our way to the bathroom the crowd from the Lion King was just coming out, so I fought my way through that wave of people.

After our bathroom break we lined back up. I am actually quite thrilled with where we ended up. Center part of the bleachers. We could see everything. That is one beautiful show!!! The acrobats were incredible. The whole time I was a little sad because I knew my DH would have loved it!

After the show we spent some time in a gift shop and waited for the 4 o'clock parade. DH and I vowed that the only time Brenna would see characters was at the dinners. Well after the LK Lilo and Stitch were out and there were only 2-3 people in line. Why not. So she spent a few minutes with them.

Up next-parade (times 2), the search and wait for a Mickey Bar, and dinner at Boma and the bus rides!

So we watched the parade. Brenna did NOT want to see it. She said, "I've already seen it." which is true. Once it started she got into it and actually was excited when the characters came over to her and high fived her.

After the parade went by, we got through the crowd heading away from Africa as we headed into it. I asked if she wanted to do the safari again and Brenna said, "no I want an ice cream!". Fine. We foudn a cart with Miceky bars and we waited. And we waited. And we waited. There were people in front of us (about 6) who individually bought ice creams and were having a hard time making change/charging to their room. Anyway, we are 3rd from the front when the girl announces that she can't sell anymore because the parade is coming through!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!!! Everyone was mad. Brenna wanted to go up to the rope again to watch, but I didn't want to lose my spot so I made her stand there with me. So we watched it again! Now I was even saying "but I've already seen it!". Parade over we got our Mickey bar and Mickey ice cream sandwich. We sat on a bench by Tusker House and enjoyed. After the treat I snapped a few pics and decided we should go to AKL for our dinner at Boma.

Headed out of the park and onto the bus. I think I waited longer for the bus then for the actual ride there. What a beautiful hotel!! I didn't realize they had Photopass people in the lobby. I didn't do any pics there, but outside we got a few of the animals and the hotel.

Our ressie was for 6:05 so I cheked in about 5:45. WE poked around another gift shop. We like to do that when daddy isn't around-shhh. Took the elevator down and waited. Brenna decided she was going to be a cat in the waiting area. Lovely. We actually got called a little early which was good because I was starving.

Now, I really didn't like Boma. Part of it was because I was totally by myself and doing the buffet with a 4 year old, 2 plates, bag, and camera in tow was hard. The food tasted good, but I wasn't into the selection. Mainly because I was nervous about getting sick and then the 2 of us being down. I ate light, but tried some chicken, potatoes, veg. The zebra domes were great!

And now for the bus ride

Remember, I now have to get back to POP. My waitress was really slow and Brenna was being a pip. I was practically in tears at this point because I Was tired and frustrated. I paid the tip and left. The concierge at POP suggested I take a HS bus and then get one to POP. HS had EMH hours so I knew I could get a bus back. Everyone was headed to HS that night, but I managed to get on. I like POP's bus line up area because you are in an actual line vs AKL where you all push on. Must be the teacher thing in me!

I talked with a nice man from NY about the DDP vs the DxDP. We was doing deluxe and was frustrated with the amount of food they had. Brenna fell asleep which made getting off the bus tough. Once at HS I had to find POP. Woo hoo!! The driver dropped us off at the spot next to POP!! Thank you God for that! Brenna woke up and chatted with the people behind us in line. The bus came, but we had to wait for a 2nd one. Fine.

Once back at POP I needed a drink-diet coke that is! I got into my comfies and we watched Stacy for the 19th thousand time!

Great report. We were there the same week. I got sick for 2 days following Chef Mickey's. Not stay in bed sick, but can't eat any thing or keep anything down sick. Hope your hubby was better just as fast. Keep the updates rolling

I am going to try and get some pics on here from our day at AK

And she insisted that she wear her hair down. No pony, no clip, nothing. Well that ended the next day! I was tired of her hair in her face.

Up next EPCOT!

Great trip report. I am really enjoying it and your DD is just adorable.

Thanks for the picture love!

I think we will be snow bound again tomorrow. Every channel is predicting something different but the average is 4-10" of snow. Another day of Sat. school here I come!

EPCOT 2/17/09

So my last big entry was Brenna and myself returning back to POP from our night at AKL. My feet hurt so bad! I wore my SKechers without socks and that was last time I was going to do that!

As usual I am the first one up the next day. DH decided that he was going to do everything he could to get to EPCOT. We went down for breakfast. Brenna and I got the egg platters again. Since she will not eat the meat I asked the CM if it was possible to not put it on her plate and give her a biscuit instead. Well, after some hemming and hawing she did. She also told me that it was the only time it would be done. Fine, whatever. To replace bacon and a sausage with a biscuit is nothing. DH had a bagel with jelly that he could barely finish. We went back to the room for one more trip to the bathroom and off we went to EPCOT.

When we got to EPCOT we had to make another bathroom stop. Remember, DH still isn't 100%. I was giggling at the workers in their winter coats and gloves and here I am in my shorts and thin jacket. It was 60 degrees and by my New England standards that is warm!!!

We got in and headed straight back to wait for Soarin. There was us and 200 other people all with the same idea. EMH and all! We raced back there and got in line. When we got closer to the entrance one of the CMs asked for a party of 3. My hand shot up in there mighty fast for that one! Must be the teacher in me again. We were in the middle section which is perfect. We all love this ride!! I do get nervous with Brenna on it, but she holds on and I strap her in really well! I was worried too about DH with his stomach, but he was holding his own at that point.

We decided not to do FP this time. Nemo wasn't open yet so we went to ride Spaceship Earth. The history teacher in me loves this ride. The ending is so neat. Brenna and I were in the front and DH was in the back. Brenna and I did an under the sea scene and DH had a space one. I sent the postcards to the house and also to my mom. SHe claims she never got them, so I guess I have to forward them along. Last year we didn't do that, but there was also a huge line and this year there was no one.

After SE we got hte stroller. Brenna was relieved at this point. Her legs had been going and going. We got the stroller and used part of our $200 gc for it. Love the free gc.

We headed back to Nemo and rode that. I love that ride! We spent quite a bit of time in the aquarium. Last year we had a big meltdown there over the bathroom, but this year nothing. I had warned Brenna that if I asked her to try she needed to at least try or be honest that she didn't need to go. No crying and no fussing about it. She was great the whole time. I also really limited her liquids. Last year at least I had pull ups, but at almost 4 1/2 I was not going that route with her!

After the aquarium we did Figment. It's kind of lame, but it's a quick ride. Brenna then had fun playing with the jumping water. I think I was able to catch it in a couple of pics.

Walked over to TT and I got a FP for later in the day 2:55-3:55. Remember that time!

We did WS next. This was the first time I had ever seen the Canada movie. Brenna loved it! I got a little dizzy with it, but thought it was well done.

We wandered down the path into France. I knew they had a gift shop there with Marie items. Brenna is now into cats and especially Marie from the Aristocats. We saw what she calls Baby Marie. It's Marie with a little blanket. SHe had seen it in a couple of other stores and really wanted it. So we gave in and got it. Once again, out comes the gc. We've been reading Fancy Nancy so she knows that Merci is French for thank you. She even said it to the CM! She was so appreciative of the doll!!! The little things.

We finished going around the WS and decided to head back to POP. DH was tired and wanted to rest for awhile.

Up next...back at POP. Did my sick DH really eat a bacon double cheeseburger for lunch!

Subscribing...Loving the TR!! :thumbsup2 Waiting for the next installment!!:cutie:
