Tuesday: We were up early and had breakfast in the concierge lounge at the Poly. We enjoyed that especially the kids, who were able to get their own breakfast and snacks all week, with supervision of course.
We took the bus to Animal Kingdom, the first and last bus trip of the week. Not only did we wait about 20 minutes each way but the buses were crowded, standing room only, packed until they could fit no more and still making all of the stops it was supposed to. This proved to be a consistent theme all week, it took longer to get places then we ever thought and even when we left early we had things like monorail traffic (yes, that is what they called it). AK itself was underwhelming. The Lion King Festival Show was good and the kids enjoyed Camp Mickey-Minnie, they got to meet, get autographs from and take pictures with Mickey, Minnie, Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, Chip and Dale. They also met, got autographs and pictures with Timon, from Lion King, and Baloo and King Louie from Jungle Book,.when we entered the park. Fast Pass is great! We used it here for the Safari and Bug’s Life and were able to plan around it. The Safari was okay (we live ½ hour from the Bronx Zoo), Bug’s Life was cute for adults the kids were frightened and had to be taken out. My sister tried to convince them not to go but they had seen a preview on the WDW vacations videos and wanted to see it. In between we had lunch at the Tusker House. My nephew is still talking about his PB&J on rainbow bread. The sandwich was just okay. We brought water and juice boxes from concierge, water is $2.75 and the juice, boxes if you can find it,$1.00 in the parks, it would have cost an arm and a leg for 7 people to have drinks in between.
After a break at the Poly, we were off to the Flying Fish for dinner. It took us over an hour as we walked to the TTC, to take the direct monorail to Epcot but hit the mentioned monorail traffic, then walked through EPCOT to the International Gateway, where we waited at least 5 minutes on a full boat to take us to the Boardwalk. The return trip took almost as long. The food at the Flying Fish was good but not great and the portion size okay not huge. They did give the kids a hard plastic cup with a fitted lid and straw, that we were able to take home as a souvenir, and a small fish toy that had a water game inside. One small, complaint they could have given the toy earlier to keep the kids occupied between dinner and dessert. As for dessert, the banana napoleon was as good as advertised, the chocolate lava cake was small and tasted bitter the ice cream with it was good though, again a tiny scoop, and an outrageous price (I think about $10). Everyone except Lori went back to the rooms, where chocolates and champagne from concierge awaited my sister and bil.
Lori went to E-night. I loved it!!! I went on Space Mountain, Astro Orbiter, Tomorrowland Transit Authority, Buzz Lightyear 2x, Thunder Mountain 2x and Splash Mountain 3x in about 1 ½ hours. It rained that night as I was leaving the MK at 11p.m., the only time in 8 days.

a rough time with transportation........sounds like conceirge was fantastic at the poly......thanks again for the report

That was not the last time, it actually happened a few more times and the funny part (now) is that it also happened on Friday and we were late for our PS. It was okay though. I mentioned it only because even being on the monorail it took us way longer to get anywhere than we had anticipated and we had to adjust timing later in the week to compensate. Next time we know better!

Sorry about your transportation woes...Unfortunately, I've been hearing a lot about that recently..:( In the past we never had it too bad, but I have a feeling on this trip it will be worse...At least you had a fun, packed day!!

Beth :)

6 days until WDW!!

What a bummer about the busses. That can sometimes ruin a wonderful stay. To be honest using the car would probably not have gotten you there any faster.

It did seem like you guys still had a great time! E-night is awesome and we try to never miss it!
