After much discussion I think we've finally decided where we are going to eat when in DLRP in July. We are staying for 4 nights, and have decided to eat in a table service restaurant each night. There are 5 of us going - me (34), DH (39), DS (15), DD1 (14) and DD2 (12) and I realise it's not going to be cheap with all of us eating adult meals.

I just wondered if those more experienced than us reckon this is a good selection of restaurants - I did wonder if we should swap one for a buffet meal, but couldn't decide which one.

Day 1 - King Ludwigs
Day 2 - Blue Lagoon
Day 3 - Buffalo Bill's
Day 4 - Walt's
Day 5 - A late lunch in either Annette's or Rainforest Cafe (this is the day we leave).

If you were looking for something a bit cheaper i would try the buffet in NPBC, I think it is the Cape Cod but not sure . It is the one on the right as you go in from the lake . They have a great choice of food and fairly reasonable.
I would swap the King Ludwig`s but only because we didnt have a good time there.

I think you have some great choices there. :goodvibes

Walt's and Blue Lagoon do a teenager menu which does help the budget a bit. :thumbsup2

Hi we have had two fab meals at king Lugwigs (it’s the one place my DH wants to go back to this time!)

Bear in mind that if you do eat in here you get a voucher to eat in The Rainforest cafe with 20% off (or vice versa) but this is only valid for two days, it may be worth swapping meals around a bit as 20% can save a lot especially with five of you eating adult / teenager meals.

We always have a proper sit down meal at the end of the day for us it’s a lovely way to spend the evening after a day walking around.

Not sure if you are getting annual passports but you can save 10% on most restaurants with this.

Hi
Sounds great but can only comment on Rainforest Cafe and Annette's Diner and would most definately recommend them both(so really I've not been any help at all, sorry:guilty: )

We really enjoyed our time at Buffalo Bills as it is a show as well as meal.
We also enjoyed our meal at Walts and Annettes.

Be prepared to change your plans if you see something else you fancy instead. Apart from B Bills (which you pay for when you book) you can book others and then not turn up/cancel reservation without having to pay.

Depending when in July you are going you may not need to book but you may- in other words if the park is closing at 7 it makes sense to enjoy the rides to the end then eat in the village afterwards.

If the park is open later we enjoyed eating at lunch time to give us a break then snacking in the evening when rides were slightly quieter

Thanks for all the advice. I felt a bit daft posting my restaurant choices here, but I knew someone would come up with some useful info I didn't know - and I was unaware that you got a 20% voucher for Rainforest Cafe when you eat at King Ludwigs so we will definitely eat there later in the week. I think we may do Annettes for lunch the day we are going to Buffalo Bills as we are going to the 9.30 show so will need a decent lunch to keep us going (and we do love Annettes).

We are going mid-July when the park is open to 11pm, so might eat early evening then have time on the rides afterwards. I'm not sure if we would enjoy the food as much if we ate a big meal at lunchtime and eating out is as much a highlight of our trip as anything else!

Thanks again for the tips. I will have more questions soon, once I have planned more of our itinery. Last time we went for 4 nights/5 days too, but were so exhausted by the last day that we didn't do much at all and the day was a bit of a waste. Also, despite having 5 days there, we still didn't manage to see the Studio Parade. While I don't want to make rigid plans, I'd like to be a bit more organised so that the same doesn't happen again.
