Who? Me
, DH
, DD
(celebrated her 11th b-day in WDW), DS
(7 1/2), and Bodhi
(10 month old boxer pup).
Well, the plan was to leave at 7pm on the 13th this year from Jersey - 3 hours earlier than usual, hoping to get us in at around noon. I took a comp day from work. Well, I thought I did, but as usual, I got a hundred things to do on Thursday, so ended up going in in the am and working until 1:30. Picked up the kids from school, helped DH pack up the Explorer, and we were on our way at 7:15pm. Not bad! Bodhi was awesome in the car. He was a bit freaked out from the oncoming storm, but was ok after a while.
I fell asleep around my usual 2 am. Woke up and had breakfast around 8 am, then I took over the wheel and drove us into FL! We stopped quite a bit to exercise the dog, so we rolled into WDW around 2pm. Went to A-SS to check in for our one night there. Loooooooong line. Then we headed over to MGM to drop off Bodhi at the Kennel. I have to say, those kennels are great! The attendant, Marissa, was absolutely fabulous
! The parking lot was a mere 105 degrees - whew! Poor puppy couldn't wait to get back into the a/c!
We went back to the hotel, got in our bathing suits and took the kiddies to the pool to let them cool off. Talk about a crowded pool!
After that we went to the MK, as usual. We got fast passes for Space Mtn, since it was the first time my son was able to ride, then tried Splash Mtn. The stand-by wait was only 45 min, so it said. It ended up that we were about 15-20 minutes from getting on (after being on line for like more than an hour), and had to get out of line or we'd miss our FP time. DS liked Space Mtn, but didn't go on it the rest of the trip. Went over to MGM to let Bodhi out and hit a couple of attractions there til the park closed at 10pm.
Back to the room and collapsed in bed! BWV tomorrow!!!
Checked out in the am, let out Bodhi, then pre-checked in at BWV. Rented points from a DVC member (Thanks!) for a preferred view studio. We went to MGM, again, then on to Blizzard Beach. Had a great time there! It was nice to relax and stay somewhat cool. Went back to BW around 5-ish and our studio was ready - room 4019, beautiful view of the Swan and Dolphin. The room was spectacular! Showered and dressed, then off to MK.
Next day - DD's birthday
